I just checked the plans, and it appears that the Taste Bar is gone from the Dream. I'm going to miss it, and I don't eat sushi!
I was on Dream last week. The Taste Bar was there....Deck 5 mid-ship next to the Alchemy Bar.

I didn't really care about them until last week. Now after spending 8 days onboard Dream with CD Chris Williams it does matter. He should be on every ship all the time! He is by far the best.....in my opinion!

I posted back in September that mine is Stuart Dunn. I now have a most likely forever favorite......CHRIS WILLIAMS!!!!! .....the Flying Scotsman. He is unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!

Glad they're back, too. I've never used these for my Sail & Sign card, only for cruise payments. At the end of my cruise, if I have money left on the S&S card, can I get a refund as if I had used cash for the account?

I have not paid any fees or taxes when purchasing Carnival gift cards via Verizon Rewards, just the very small postage fee to mail the physical cards. It's really easy to make a payment online via your Cruise Manager: just click on the "Pay Now" button on your booking and on the following page you can select the amount to pay and the tender type - gift card, credit card or Paypal/Masterpass.
That's great! Thanks so much for the info.

Getting ready to do this for the first time in a couple of weeks to pay the balance on our October cruise. Is there a fee or tax to Verizon for doing this? I know there would be one if they were mailing them to me but I plan to do eCards. Also, is it better to call Carnival to make the payments or is it easier to pay online?

Yes.....it is at Four Seasons. It's a parking garage attached to the back of the hotel.

We stayed at Cocoa Beach Suites the last time we cruised out of PC. It includes parking at a different location a few blocks away .... closer to the port .... but it was great. We will definitely stay there again.

We were in 2497 on Vista in January. The cabin size is awesome but it only has 2 closets instead of 3. That is the only thing I would change inside the cabin. Please be aware that it is "Family Harbor". On our cruise that meant lots of unruly, unsupervised kids taking over the area...including the FH Lounge which could have been wonderful...but it wasn't.

Deck 3 was our choice, too. Port side is (or was when we were onboard) non-smoking and Starboard is smoking. However, there were a few times we were able to be on Starboard away from the smoke.

I'm confused. You get a $30 credit but are charged $15 for each bag of laundry. That's only 2 free bags but on 7 day or longer cruises you are supposed to get 3 free bags. Or is this referring to a shorter cruise? We leave this Saturday on the Sunshine and this will be my first cruise as platinum and I will be taking advantage of the free laundry.

Our cruise was only a 6 day. The $8.79 was refunded port charges so we could use it on anything or just let them credit our accounts at the end of the cruise.

My husband and I just returned from our first Platinum cruise. We had a hard learning experience so maybe this will help others who are moving up.
On our Sail & Sign accounts, we each had $38.79 OBC. $30 was "non-refundable".....with no other explanation. My husband decided to purchase the Bottomless Bubbles plan with his. When the amount didn't show that it was partially covered, we went to Guest Services to find out why. We were told it was for laundry. When we asked why it didn't specify that, the extremely rude GS manager said "well, you should have asked!!!". Then he asked if was our first time being Platinum and we said yes.....and then in a loud, rude voice he again said "YOU SHOULD HAVE ASKED!!!". We told him "it should say what it has to be used for".
This was our 14th cruise so we aren't stupid about cruising but this seemed very misleading. Anyway....now we'll know on cruise #15 in October.

Here is the link to a picture of my S&S from 2008. This is the type card we received in 2005, 2007, and 2008. The one from 2005 had white writing instead of black. It was kinda hard to see.

I hope it opens. I'm not too good at Dropshots.

Getting ready for our first Platinum cruise next Sunday and reading about the gifts.
If there were a list to choose from, I would be so happy to see the Embarkation Picture on it. Technically, the cost to produce it would be minimal. I say that because I watch hundreds being thrown in the trash bins on every cruise, therefore it must be cheap or they would have changed to digital years ago.
I think it would be a very nice "Thank You for cruising with us many times" gift. I would feel very appreciated! :) ....and then I would purchase another picture.

I think the veggie patty is great. I've had it on 3 or 4 different ships and it seems to be very consistent. Be prepared to wait 15 minutes for them to cook it. They don't have any ready.....well, I've always had to wait.....but I think it is well worth it.
After you've have one or two, they will recognize you. My husband ordered one for me one day when he got his normal burger. When I went to get mine, even tho the area was really crowed, they saw me coming and 2 of the quys yelled "here's your burger". LOL Made me wonder if maybe I'd been there way too many times. :D

We will be in GC on Jan. 25th on Carnival Vista if everything goes as planned. This will be our 3rd stop there and we've done the extensive tour so we're hoping to just take a ride to Hell to send postcards and spend a little time in that area. There will be 5 of us, all adults. Is the bus the best way to do this? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

My 29 year old son has been cruising since 2005. A few weeks ago, we were trying to figure out how many VIFP points he has and how many more to go until he reaches platinum. We realized that he didn't have a way to see that info so we set up an account for him. On his cruise history page there was nothing, of course, but there was a place to click "Add Missing Cruises". We did that with minimal info required and within a couple of days it was updated and correct.....along with his VIFP number.

KBCruiseLover - We'll be on Vista on Jan 22nd too!! Can't wait and hope to see you there!! :) :) :)
Wonderful! Maybe we'll see each other.....dinner together would be nice.
This review is amazing and it's making me wish we were there now!!!

This is an awesome review! I love the fact that you are on the ship as you post it. Thank you!!!
My family will port out on Vista January 22nd. The number one "to do" on my list is always "find the ship's coin". If you've seen it and have a picture please post it. I don't really want to know exactly where it is because that's part of the fun having to search for it.
Thanks again for doing this! It's great!!!!!!

Thanks for posting this. I've been worried about not being able to put in the correct check-out date but I haven't had time to call Carnival. Now I'll stop worrying! :)

WOW! That's an amazing! Thanks for the recipe!!! That's fun.

Thanks for all your input. It's been very helpful. We'll give it a shot in January!!!

I really don't know.....we don't usually use any on the ship. That's a good question.

October 1st cruise - Pig & Anchor was NOT open on embarkation day. It was raining. That may have made a difference.
