  1. Luggage tags are the long skinny ones in the back of the " Blue book" we only put them on once at destination, as usually in the night prior.

Yes there is a pull out laundry line in bathtub, in fact we only use the bath tub to hang our bathing suits.

There is one bedside clock, touch it and it lights up. Quite convenient.

We like the night light that is now in the bathroom as well.

Plenty of plugs beside bed and on the desk.

  2. Enjoyed Regatta around Australia got off Jan 6th.

    CD Corey

    GM Claudio

Bathroom  size cannot change but glass doors very good,

Food still fab, a bit less choice not a problem unless perhaps on world cruise.

Staff as good as ever many familiar ones. (we're Platinum members)

Met wonderful people which is how you enjoy your time. Weather hot every day, beats the Vancouver snow.

Off Feb 26 on Riviera to Caribbean.

    Enjoy your trip.

  3. Porthole area is huge we left a lot of stuff there, a knapsack, hats, sunglasses and odds and ends, snorkel equipment.

Noted suitcases in the picture provided, those fit nicely under bed. You have to lift one corner of bed and then slide them in.  Has always worked well with our huge suitcases. (larger than those shown)

Booked 4015 around Australia Regatta next month, room the same as third floor. Upgrade would be nice but not necessary.

  4. I have a 31 day cruise around Australia Dec 6 2019 on Regatta no spa credit even as a gold club member. This used to be $230  which we have gotten, so a cutback with the new spa company.

The next trip 14 day Caribbean Feb 26 2020 on Riviera gives us each $150 and I have that in the contract in writing.

Wish I could have one on the Australian much longer trip. I think it is a matter of the change over not being covered.

  5. We were on Insignia last year after refurbish--yes there are plugs for CPAP at headboard bedside .

My husband has one and for past 10years this has been no problem. They provide you with distilled water as well.

You can specify to O under special requirements and it will all be in place by your room steward by the time you board.

This is a great cruise line that looks after you well.  That's why we will be on our 21st O cruise in December.

  6. Suncity galtx  We are on your cruise but rarely organize our tours till after our final payment date (July 9) just in case we are not able to go. So far we have never cancelled any of our 20 Oceania cruises, so we are hoping for the best as we are both in excellent health ( in our 60 & early 70). A busy schedule is another problem. Your tour in Adelaide looks good.

We usually find the O tours as you very pricey. We usually take the credit for a tour or two and use the rest for wine  at dinner and cocktails as we enjoy a drink after trivia  in the bar to meet people.

  7. One Valentines Day all the women were given red roses, (I guess that depends on where your ship might be).

Also a small box of 3 or 4  chocolates which you might share with hubby or give to your cabin stewardess.

This year I'll be in Rangiroa French Polynesia so I'll let you know--perhaps a local flower.

  8. Re O'life flight in Papeete, no need to worry most of flight is O passengers and a charter is set up to take you there together.

If ship is late flight will leave late. If booked on your own it is a different story.

First trip we arrived on the late flight actually got in by 8  on ship by 9, walked right on ship where a late snack was set up for us late comers in Terraces.

The second time we arrived early am and waited till 2pm to get on board a long wait.

  9. We have always stored our closed suitcases (28 in) under beds on all O cruise (we have 20 under our belt) on all their ships.

Just have partner lift corner of bed to slide them under. Thus we leave our winter clothes there till home bound.

Hubby places his shoes there too--however as limited lighting  he has turned up in one red boating shoe and one green to the dining room. Luckily there is another identical pair. The staff got a great chuckle out of that one!

  10. We have flown into Papeete twice with O. First one arrived at 9 pm taken directly to ship no problem.

Second time we arrived early morning, luggage after custom pick-up is taken by O for everyone directly at airport to ship, however you are still stuck with hand luggage. Taxi are plentiful and we shared with others very reasonable About $30. So you can wait at airport not much there or at ship docking. We did not have transport and not use of the holding area.

It became a long day. We toured the market which would only take local currency.

Options  might be to take the ferry to Morea, docks next to cruise ship, a short skip and taxi to hotels nearby and spend day at beach, overnight would be great but day trip possible.

You may also be able through O to book a day room, expensive but if early arrival a nice experience.

  11. We always take Olife and air included, partially because we live in Vancouver BC area and air fares are high from Canada.

We really enjoy Oceania, book direct and as we do longer trips air fares is  a considerable cost.

As an example we are on Jan 30 LA-Sydney and just got our air originally booked as stop over Seattle  to LA and LA going back to Vancouver. However requested direct to LA and direct back on Air Canada and got both at no extra cost --great service.

We have also been redirected by Oceania such as the time to Valpariso during earthquake, redirected during Barcelona strikes and once the the move over to a longer cruise with Oceania,  O handling all changes and no trouble to us.

This is why we continue with their air not to mention we love their ships and service .  This will 19 & 20 with O. Yes we have tried others but enjoy Oceania the most.

Works well for us but each case is different. Why not give them a try and see what you think.

  12. We have done several O Trans Atlantic trips and enjoyed all but one as it was extremely windy that one trip.

Generally if you want warm weather, poolside warmth do a southern one from Miami ( not Bermuda or north) or South America.

If that does not matter then you'll enjoy any crossing. There are more activities such as ship building, the country Fair, games with the officers to keep you busy along with games, bridge, Mah Jong, movies, free cooking shows which are entertaining. Of course there are also various speakers on board which can be of interest. Never had time to get bored and of course there are fabulous libraries.

Clientele are well travelled group and we have always enjoyed the sharing of meals on these trips. This is a good way to enjoy a crossing to get back from or to Europe.

Have 18 trips on O none on your other suggestion. Cunard is too formal for us, haven't done it in years.

  13. I have had 18 cruises with Oceania and never had a problem with my Birks, they are gold and a bit dressier but good for evening and daytime walking and a must for comfort. A nice outfit works well with them.

I have only seen men turned away at GD wearing shorts--that's a no no for dinner. Observed this about 4 times or so while waiting to go in, but you can go and change or eat at the buffet instead.

Brunch (usually held once per trip) in GD is more casual if they have one and people wore just about anything. Common sense prevails. Please no ball game hats at meals I feel that is tacky.

Enjoy and do not worry about the details:D:Dclear.png?emoji-grin-1677

  14. We arrived this way on an early flight couple of years ago and O had a truck at airport for everyone to leave their luggage on and it would be delivered to your stateroom. Great arrangement. You did not have to have the transfer arrangement from O.

We got a cab to downtown where the ship is docked and walked around, market is there as well but only accept their currency. If hot the breeze was nice by airport doors, where we sat to while some time away.

  15. Thanks for description of 7116, we leave on Insignia Jan 13 for 26 days Bridgetown- Cape Town. Husband will really enjoy the larger balcony and shade. Also heard aft is very nice.

We have done extended balcony on Marina before and enjoyed the extra space. Should probably be room for a lounger as well. :)

  16. We almost always take O air, living in BC Canada airfares are usually higher than in USA

one occasion ships departure from Barcelona- due to Spanish local strikes O flew us in a day early (would have missed cruise otherwise as Frankfurt connections required work stoppage at BCN airport ) O arranged two days prior to fly us in early no extra charge, no trouble

another time we were able to take advantage of an O offer to change to a longer cruise, they took care of all changes

another re arranged flight was to Valparaiso during the earthquake a few years ago, rerouted through Lima in case we couldn't go further (some passengers chose to get on there, we went on and were looked after fabulously deplaneing on tarmac as building not safe) O reps took excellent care of us, while ship stood by out at sea

As we have gold club status we no longer pay deviation fees which certainly helps for an early arrival with no cost in most cases.

  17. Two years ago we arrived on similar flight, O has a large truck at airport which takes your large suitcases and leaves you then with only your hand luggage. We had a long wait and hung around airport. Next time we would go to the island of Morea for a few days to avoid this. Ferry comes in right beside ship.

  18. In the past the extra $250 only shows up once on board, as the cabin steward gives you a card to sign for it. We've done a cruise each year (going on 16/17 as per O count in January Bridgetown Capetown) and the gratuities never show up till then.

I gather it has to do with you either get the grandfathered amount or not. We do not as late comers to the party. We have however always received them.
