Because the Magic is taking over all of the Triumphs short cruises while the Triumph does a 10, 11 and 12 day cruises in Feb/March 2015.

I see you are a frequent Carnival cruiser but not since 2013 and nothing except this most recent cruise booked. Maybe that is the secret. I always have one or two or even three cruises booked. I get casino offers but nothing else......:(
I don't think there is any rhyme or reason why some get it and some don't. I think it's random. I got it and I had two cruises booked. My husband and kids did not get it. I didn't get any of the previous offers, this was the first one.

Was just looking around Carnival.com and checked the Offers Tap Not expecting any thing and Boom it was sitting there 100pp w 200OBC.I screamed to my partner we finally got one after 23 cruises and 115 days at sea. I'm so Excited and the taxes are 285 and I paid extra 40 pp for OV. I checked the board and I didn't see this listed was this a wide spread offer like some of the Casino ones???
There where 3 offers 4 day Ectasy 4 day Victory and 8 Day Splendor I picked the 8day it's a nice Itinerary

Congrats!!!! We got that offer to and booked the Splendor also! Picking an 8 day over a 4 day is the way to go! Plus I get a bonus trip to San Juan which I LOVE so much. Hop on over to our roll call. It's a very active group with lots of fun planned. See you on the ship!!!

I got the offer, my husband who is Platinum did not.
I have cruised recently and have cruises booked. It can't be because of the casino because I have never put more than $20 in a slot machine on a ship ever.
I wish we could swing it, but with our Magic cruise right in the middle of the three choices we can't possibly swing it.

The cruises to Ensenada and Catalina are never warm enough to swim IMHO. You don't go south far enough to reach warmer waters. My kids did snorkel in Catalina once, but they had to wear wet suits and this was in the summer. Really cool. Ensenada doesn't really have swimming beaches.

Sorry to revive this thread from the dead, but I am hoping someone has been in this cabin (1210) recently? How was it, noisy? Any pics? Hoping it's got 2 twins/King and a couch.
Thanks!!!

Finally tried it last cruise. Was NOT impressed...and I usually love anything chocolate.
What is it about this particular dessert that makes people go ga-ga? Because I don't get it. It was ok..but nothing to write home about (as my mamaw would say).
I can't stand it. I think it tastes awful! The flavor is bad and it's like eating got brownie batter. Not at all like melted chocolate. Yuk!

but it is very near the elevators. I noticed that there is another quad cabin 6 doors down' date=' can I request that cabin instead if it is in the same category that our current cabin is in?
Our TA said "no" but I think she is new because she also said I can't put "upgrades ok" on our booking (she said you can only request upgrade availability once we board the ship -- which we experienced carnival cruisers know is NOT true).
I usually book my own cruise but used this online TA because we got $50 obc.[/quote']
Issue is, since you booked with a TA you can't call Carnival and request it. Your TA would have to.

I hope carnival remembers to tell their pax that they all must obtain a visa for brazil if their cruise stops in brazil
This is regardless of wether or not a pax is planning to get off the ship in brazil
When the splendor did its first voyage around South America a few years back and the itin was new again to carnival, 150 pax were denied boarding in Miami because they had not obtained Brazilian visas
Could have been a TA issue
Could have been that Carnival didn't get the correct info to its pax
Don't know but it is a requirement to have a visa even if staying on the ship in a Brazilian port
I don't know where these new itins are going in South America but this is good info for any cruiser on any line planning to go to brazil or if flying to brazil

It's not stopping in Brazil- stopping in Columbia, Panama and Costa Rica.

This new 12-day itinerary, roundtrip Galveston, is now available for bookings on the Carnival website.
I already started a Roll Call. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=43499902&posted=1#post43499902 So, who's joining us.
Me!!!!!!! Well, and my husband ;)

I wish they would hurry up and get the 3/2/2015 cruise up on the website already. I want to play around with which cabin I want!
My PVP sent me the itinerary and all the info, but I still like to look around and see what cabin before I call him back and book. We are on it FOR SURE!! Our 25th Anniversary is March 10 so we will be celebrating Santa Marta Columbia!

This is what John Heald said regarding it- guess we will find out Tuesday!!! If there is a Canal cruise from Galveston I will be jumping on that!
John Heald: News coming next week on this and those who wanted longer cruises and some canal time should stay tuned ...........will have full details on Tuesday about this and dry dock etc. cheers

LOVING your review!!! Thanks for taking the time to do it!
I can't stop laughing at your Robert(o) pics, because in my head I hear Bobby Bouche from the Waterboy talking about his daddy- Roberto! He even looks like him!!! He's going to get the dehydration!!!
Thanks again!

If you write it- we will come. I will follow you anywhere now!!
Best thing I have ever read on cruise critic!!! It doesn't even need pictures because I can see it all in my head!!

They are like a delicious corn pancake with cheese!!! They cut them in half, get two!! Or three :). They are so yummy dipped in salsa!
-
I'm content to just eat the delicious Arepas for breakfast at the Blue Iguana!!! I would eat them all day if I could, they are DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!
-
Yep, as predicted- they extended it :(
Extended until May 26th. I hope there will be a new sale after that and I can score some OBC!
-
Our friend wasn't sure if she would like it enough to get the unlimited pass, the guy said if she bought the one time ticket and decided she liked it he would just take the one time ticket price off the unlimited price. So, if you're not sure try it once. She didn't like it btw, made her feel motion sick. We all loved it! It was really fun!
-
There will be info in the Fun Times where to go and when for tender tickets, just go there 30 mins before. Usually someone is there and you will get your tickets. Only one person has to go get the tickets for your whole group.
The tenders are really fast and you are really close to shore so it's a quick ride.

My fav sauce is a combination of Thai BBQ with a little bit of Szechuan. All Szechuan is too spicy so just a touch of it with the Thai BBQ is perfect. I don't care for the flavor of the black bean.

BUMMER! They say they deliver between 10am and 9pm . . . that is almost 2 days into the trip if it doesn't get there in the morning. Anyone know if it comes early? Otherwise, I am not sure it is really worth it.
You could just call room service after midnight and have them deliver a bottle, it's the same price. The probably hold off til 10am so they don't wake people.
-
Yep, looks like you're leaving from Texas. Due to their weird liquor laws you can't have it til the next day.
-
So happy it's time for your review!!!!!!! So much fun! Keep up the good work!

Carnival Magic dry dock
in Carnival Cruise Lines

I have a feeling dry dock is a long ways off for Magic. They have said nothing scheduled for 2015.
