  1. We questioned the crew living at HMC about this and from what they said 2025 begins construction. The far northeast of the island will be developed with the pier the western side will be developed for Carnival Ships and the eastern (current HMC beach) will be for HAL. From what we heard the island will be split into two sections, western for Carnival and eastern for HAL. That was all the information the crew had to tell. I guess we will see if this comes to fruition.

  2. We, too, were on this sailing Dec 15-22, and as said by OP pitching and rolling were present Friday, Saturday, and part of Sunday. While this is a discomfort for some we had no issues. The food under the direction of Ali Noorul was exceptional compared to past cruises. We noted seeing him everywhere food was being served. From the Lido to the Pinnacle to the Island BBQ to Canaletto, he was everywhere tasting and testing the temperatures of the foods. Yes, the weather was spotty, and light-passing showers were present throughout the week but never downpours of rain. Was this weather-wise the best cruise we've been on? No, it was not. HAL's service aboard was also exceptional and IMO the best service at sea.

We just got back from our longest cruise yet, 48 days on the very cool Noordam, so really got into the rhythm of the ship.  And realized some cruising “truths .  Thought I’d share my Top Ten.  Perhaps you have some?

    - Boat hair, don’t care
    - Make up, schmake-up
    - If an outfit is good enough to bring along, it’s good enough to be worn again, and again
    - The ship’s laundry is a value at any price, and better than home
    - Cruise ships are not a place for heels, of any kind
    - No one is more special than anyone else but some think they are (uh, no, you aren’t)
    - Coughing is not cool
    - A Table-for-two means a couple wants to eat dinner together, not with all the neighboring tables
    - Being nice to the staff shows class
    - HAL staff is the GOAT

And we remember pretty much everything except skeet shooting. We still take our boarding documents and put them in the blue leatherette folder. It confuses people in the check in line.

My memory is failing...I think I was thinking about Cunard when I mentioned skeet shooting...my bad.

  5. Celebrate an anniversary with flowers, balloons, and a $15 photo credit to commemorate the special event. This is all the information HAL provides. Can anyone elaborate on their experience? Any photos of this package would be great. TIA

It is an Android choice/issue.  When developers release a new application or even an update to an existing application, Android has version requirements the application must meet to be in the app store.

Often it's due to security issues that get identified and fixed in newer versions that can't be fixed in older versions (the old cost vs. benefit equations), though sometimes it's changes that the old hardware can't support.

And yes, as a developer, this whole subject can be very frustrating to us too!  After all, we also need to upgrade hardware.  BTW, Apple is the same too!

Thank you for the comment. I understand, regretfully, that it is time to update my phone. Your comment was excellent in explaining without being snarky about the age of my phone.
