  1. Be sure and try the Alchemy Bar,the people there are the best.We were on the Freedom this past Sept. and went to Little French Key in Roatan(not booked thru Carnival)and it is beautiful. We did the $88 pp package which included the meal and 2 drinks and it was worth every penny. For Belize we just shopped around the port and ate at a restaurant recomended by one of the people in one of the shops and loved the food there. For Cozumel we went to Nachi Cocum(again not booked thru Carnival) an all inclusive resort that only allows 100 people per day max .Price $55 pp and the food and drinks are super. This was our 5th time at Nachi Cocum and will probabally be there again when we sail on the Freedom Oct.1,2016.

  2. Yep. When I was a midshipman at the Academy, we were paid when we went on our sea year training on merchant ships. We received 1/2 of an ensign's salary, $300/month. That was early '70's.

When I went into the Navy in 1968 and came out of boot as an airman (e3 because of college credits ) I made $300 a month.

  3. The Original Mexican Café is very good , also you might try Millers restaurant on Seawall and Shrimp and Stuff which now has 2 locations ( 1 at 39th and Ave O and 1 downtown. Two others that are on the Strand are Brews Brothers and I hope I spell it right Yaga's.

  4. If cabin 9266 is available it is in a very good location. It is the 1st forward room on the port side.I mean that it is the 1st room just forward of the mid ship rooms.Very quiet and still very near the elevators and the doors leading out to the Lido deck.We have been in that room 2 times and hope we can get it again on our next Triumph cruise.

  5. This Oct. will be our 4th time there. We love it,it is so laid back and peaceful. The drinks are very good(normally start off the morning with bloody maries then switch to either beer or dirty monkeys) and the food is very good.
