Hello, going on a Baltic cruise this June and staying 4 days post-cruise in London, looking for recommendations as to which district to be in to be close to all major attractions..:)

Thinking of exploring the city of Salerno itself, any suggestions or ideas appreciated. :)

It a good price but get ready for some hiking. It's probably 2.5 km from the Grand Bazar to the Topkapi Palace. Consider asking your guide to get tickets to the Hagia Sophia and the Topkapi Palace in advance. They can get crowded. I hope you have a plan to get from the dock to the Sultanahmet Area. It's not walking distance.

Thank you all for the great advice.. our guide is picking us up from our hotel as we are staying pre-cruise for 3 days, good to know about the distances though, preparing for it by daily evening walks at home :):) just hoping it won't be to hot.

Thinking of going with a private guide for a all day heritage walking tour in Istanbul, it is a 140E (doesn't include entrance fees or lunch) for the day for 2 people, is this reasonable, or any other suggestions? :)

Maudie, we didn't because I had rebooked a private tour guide for my family, but I wish I had booked through the hotel. Our tour guide was excellent so we had no discontent with our tour experience, but the private tour that I could have arranged through the hotel would have been much cheaper as it turns out. Every other recommendation or service we used the hotel for was excellent so I have no reason to think the tour they arranged would not have also been great.

We just finished our wonderful 5 day stay in Istanbul!! Loved it. We stayed at Hotel Amira in the Sultanahmet, which I highly recommend. Probably the best overall hotel stay I've had location is awesome, staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are good, spacious for European standard and well kept, but it is really the service here that stands out!

Hello, will be in St. Thomas end of March 2014, and was wondering if there are taxis from Crown Bay dock to blackbeards castle and back..and the approx. cost of the taxi...
