They are not going to communicate anything during the night and cause panic.

I would expect announcements between 7am and 8am when most people will be up.

Sorry....don't agree with you.  We are not children....we would like to KNOW  what is going on. Reassurances without explanations are not  reassuring.

  2. I am Platinum Elite with Oceania. I love their onboard product. However I am becoming increasingly concerned with the Head Office management personnel as it relates to their integrity.

Most recently the  fiasco of the so called 'Enhanced Loyalty Benefits', which in reality are a significant REDUCTION to benefits.

These reductions particularly affect the GOLD members and above. Indeed the more loyal to Oceania the bigger the reward programme reduction.

Now I wish to refer to the 'BEST PRICE/AMENITY GUARANTEE' when a cruise is booked on board.

This 'guarantee' is stressed on each cruise that it is ALWAYS beneficial to book on board as you will receive the benefits of any pric e reduction/enhanced amenities up to date of sail. In my experience after 28 cruises with Oceania (which I have loved !) this marketing is at best a SHAM, at worst misleading and /or false advertising to enduce people to book on board.

Every time we have seen a better price and enquired they have always come back with that this 'promotion' does not apply.

In the conditions it does state that certain 'select promotions' may not apply.  Of course the customer does not know what these 'select promotions'  are in advance and what promotions DO APPLY. So this begs the question, 'what price reductions would ever apply?' So far every time there has been a reduction the BEST PRICE GUARANTEE  does not apply!!!

Most recent example is we booked on board and  then subsequently there was a 10% discount came out for Canadian Residents and we were told that, in this promotion, the BEST PRICE guarantee does not apply.

So beware of this very misleading advertising.

  3. And here's me thinking a benefit was an advantage not an entitlement; shows how wrong one can be. ;)

Loyalty schemes change frequently, they are designed to tempt you to repeat an experience/buy a product again; if you are not tempted don't repeat the experience with that company.

If the new benefits don't give Oceania an edge over the competition they will change them again and people will complain again.

Do you really think a bunch of emails are going to make a difference?

I can understand why you may be thinking the way you do as you have only cruised, it seems, a couple of times with Oceania.

I believe, like many who have cruised lots with Oceania - presently I have 25 cruise credits(PLATINUM LEVEL) - will likely disagree with you. To REDUCE benefits significantly from those who have tangibly demonstrated loyalty is absurd. Equally annoying is to market this change as ENHANCEMENTS TO THEIR program when in reality it is REDUCTIONS to it.That really is insulting to guests. I still think that massive writing to Oceania is best way to possibly get them to have a change of heart.

  4. As someone has stated, 'a little late to the party', this may be true......hopefully the party is still going on😀.

I regret I did not check into Cruise Critic while on our 29 day cruise March 1st - 29th. During this period I received the Oceania email from Ms Neli Arias.

I would encourage all who have written on the existing board to email Oceania cruises.

The President and CEO is Bob Binder. His email is <BBinder@oceaniacruises.com>.

The more inundated with emails from disappointed guests MAY have some effect. Unless we all try we'll never know.

  5. I'm going to wait until I hear an official ruling on whether there will be any grandfathering or not before I get all up in arms.

It seems unless you are bronze or higher it's a moot point.

It's still a good loyalty program, but I believe those that were promised certain perks to attain a level should get them. And those close enough to earn that level by Nov 1 should get them.

I just got off Bali to Honolulu and I asked the Oceania Cruise ambassador, Cella, she confirmed NO GRANDFATHERING

  6. IN FALL 2019 OCEANIA CRUISES WILL BE TAKING AWAY SIGNIFICANT CLUB BENEFITS FROM THEIR MOST LOYAL GUESTS!!

The $230.00 per guest SPA credit for those who have cruised 15 + will be GONE.

The OBC will be reduced from $600.00per cabin to $500.00 for guests who are Platinum(20 -40 cruises),

and from $1000.00 to $750.00 for Diamond and above(41 cruises plus).

Mr Bob Binder, President and CEO, states that after 'extensive feedback from new and loyal guests' and travel agents, these benefits were not wanted. Rather guests wanted a bottle of wine, invitation to dine with officers and priority embarkation. Basically amenities that cost Oceania NOTHING!

As regards to embarkation and disembarkation, in my experience, never an issue.

They then really insult guests by sending an email advertising "Enhancments to the Oceania Club program"' as ever disengenuous as I know!

Please email me if you have ever been asked for your feedback as to the Oceania Club. Also I suggest a mass emailing to Bob Binder, President & CEO, sharing your disappointment at the reduction of Club Benefits. Apparently Oceania are making record profits so it would appear they are simply being greedy and taking their most loyal guests for granted. Email to <BBinder@oceaniacruises.com>.

Feel free to email me, Chris Perryman <chrisperryman@sasktel.net> if you would like any further information.

  7. Hi Everyone,

We are Chris & Jackie Perryman, Moose Jaw Sk, Canada, originally from London England. We are remiss in being so late in joining this board as this cruise has been booked for many months.

Would love to join you at The Meet & Greet.

Does anyone know who the CD is?
