  1. I have sailed the southbound one way two other times on the Coral and the Star. In the past I had second seating for dinner that was around 7PM and never had problems viewing the glacier and getting dressed for the formal night. I do not recall how long we the ship actually spent at the glacier. I was wondering if the main glacier viewing was done by 5PM? I am trying to book an earlier dinner but still be able to see the captain's welcome aboard and the champagne waterfall in the Piazza. I am sailing with someone who has never sailed with Princess. Thanks in advance for your responses.
  2. I have always had traditional dining in the past and so I will be new to Dine My Way (DMW) dining. I have already scheduled the Sterling Steak House and Sabatini's during my cruise. I will be sailing the Sapphire in Alaska on the voyage of the glaciers southbound. I was thinking at making reservations in different dining rooms and wondered if any of you had preferences for certain dining rooms after sailing and why? I know all the dining rooms have the same meal options. The international is the biggest and the tables seem more spaced out. I will be booking a table for two and I see some of the smaller dining rooms have the two tops spaced really close to each other. Any thoughts? The dining rooms are: The International, Vivaldi, Savoy, Santa Fe and Pacific Moon. The Santa Fe used to be only for Club Class or Reserve has that changed? Also when I entered my information for the cruise it asked me to select the pace of the dining from slow, moderate or fast paced. I selected moderate pace. In the past the traditional dining was around two hours so I assumed that was a slow pace. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
  3. I have an iPhone 11 Pro. Nice way to justify a new phone but I am not planning on upgrading at the moment.
  4. Have a great trip! mine just says "you currently do not have any packages. To learn more visit guest services" I booked through a travel agent (which we can't name but has three similar letters at the beginning of the alphabet). I said I wanted the premier package. When it did not show up in the app wanted to bill me for shipping it made me wonder what was going on with my booking. I than went to my cruise personalizer. All the premier items are listed as a gift by said agency. None of theses are gifts. It was the same price I got online when I did a sample booking selecting the premier package. I went over to the office this afternoon. The agent emailed with Princess and said they can see it on their end. I do not want to spend the first day of my cruise in a line trying to prove I paid for the premier package. Or, having to run back and get a credit. Thanks for confirming what I thought.
  5. For those of you who have returned and had the package Plus or Premier. Prior to sailing did the packages show up in your Medallion area under Ocean Ready than the area that says Folio, Packages and prizes? I booked the premier package and when I click on packages my app says I do not have any packages listed. This is where I thought my premier package would be listed. For prizes I thought the premier package lists princess prizes with your door unlocking? Just wondering if I need to call Princess or my travel agent. I would rather settle an issue before my cruise. Thanks for starting this thread and the comments are great!
  6. Pierces, I see both your trips in the links were on Celebrity. I can see one is the Celebrity Solstice but I can't see the name of the other ship? Is there a better month for getting to see these glaciers?
  7. Mtnesterz, Thank you for the advice on filing out the information online rather than thru the app. Do you know why the app is asking for permission to use my microphone and Bluetooth from my device? I can maybe see the Bluetooth linking up to the ships WiFi while onboard the ship but what would the purpose of giving the app my microphone permission?
  8. Pierces, Wow looks like an amazing excursion and awesome photos! Unfortunately, it does not look like his excursion is offered on the cruise I just booked (Sapphire Princess southbound voyage of the glaciers). I will definitely seek this excursion out when selecting a ship for my Alaska 4.0 trip. What ship were you on?
  9. Yet another medallion question. Sorry if it has been asked and answered. After you downloading the app will it require setting up a new user name and password? Or, are we supposed to use the same user name and password that we use for our Captain Circle? Thanks in advance!
  10. looks like it varies from where you are sailing. I want to avoid extra ship board charges so if anyone has Sailed in Alaska from Whittier to Vancouver, Canada did the beverage packages start once you boarded the ship or did you have to wait until after sail away or reaching international waters. Same thing if sailing from Vancouver, Canada to Whittier, Alaska.
  11. Thank you Coral! I was planning on doing the same if I was paying for one person.
  12. Since the cabins are based on double occupancy do solo travelers have to pay gratuities for two people as well.
  13. I am looking at two sailings. One is a north bound that sails in Glacier Bay area from 6AM to 3:30PM and the other is a South bound that sails in the Glacier Bay area from 9AM to 7:30PM. Is one time better to avoid looking into the sun? I have no issues getting up early and plan to be out on deck. I am using a Canon DSLR with zoom lens and I have a circular Hoya polarizer 7 lens hood. I also have camera gear protection in case of rain. Thanks in advance.
  14. When do the packages start? Do they start the moment we officially board the ship or do we have to wait until after the sail away to begin using the beverage packages? Also do they end at midnight before we arrive in port? Thanks in advance.
