We will be in Oslo from Sun-Tues, then take the train to Bergen and stay overnight in hotel before boarding ship on Wednesday. Can you give me some restaurant suggestions for both cities, if you have them? Also, what is a "must not miss" to do in both? Thanks,

We are also booked Bergen to London, Aug 9-23. We're doing 2 1/2 days pre cruise in Oslo and 2 1/2 days post cruise in London. But we're doing those on our own, and not through Viking.

You're a couple days ahead of us. We leave from Bergen on Aug 9.

We are also in 5014, next August on Jupiter.

We are booked on Viking Ocean for Aug 2023 and we just had to pay in full last week (June 2022). We are repeat Viking cruisers, though not on ocean cruise (only river cruise). We got our repeat cruiser discount, so I know they are aware. We were also perturbed that we had to pay so far in advance. Doing that for 900 people on every cruise and every ship, they are making a FORTUNE off our money. I do feel this is totally unfair, but like the OP said, we still chose to book.

On every cruise we've been on, we take a pop-up laundry basket. It folds totally flat in our suitcase and we stick it in the corner of our stateroom for dirty clothes. It keeps your room neater since clothes aren't all over. I also take a hanging shoes bag and hang it over the rod in the closet to put in shoes and purses. It also folds nearly flat in the suitcase.

MileHighGrandma: We are doing this cruise August 2023. We're going to Oslo a couple days early, then taking the train to Bergen. Would love to hear all you're willing to share about the cruise. Also, what kind of stateroom did you have? And which side of ship was it on? Did you like that side or do you think the other side has better views (coming into ports)?
