  1. I was afraid of that:( I just wish POA's rooms (all of NCL) were larger - it';s the pits when you can;t walk around the end of the bed but one at a time and turned sideways practically! For as much as we paid extra for those large balconies, I would think the rooms should be larger.

  2. We sail on POA this Saturday. Were shorts and t shirts the general order of the day for excursions or do you need longer pants? I've heard the ship interior in the theater you need a light sweater. How well do the staterooms cool? (I prefer a really cold room to sleep in.)

I have long skirts and dressy blouses for me to eat in specialty restaurants and capris or shorts for other dining on the ship. Hubby will wear jean (nice, starched) and one navy pair of slacks with collared shirt for specialty dining - are we OK???

  3. Are these any more than the regular 138 sq ft on the "regular" balconies? I know the balcony is larger, but how about the room itself?

Also, are the Family balconies any larger than the "regular" balconies? On the printed brochure, they appear to be, but I know those are not to scale usually.

  4. We have a group of 15 wanting to dine at Cagney's one night. I am still waiting on an email reply on that as we sail next week! Logistically though, is that feasible for 15 to be seated in same area?????

I knew going in that the food is NOT one of NCL's highlights unfortunately. However, on other NCL ships, the Steakhouse was always fabulous.

  5. There is aMother zip line that I think some might be referring to that can be seen right off the highway. It IS in my opinion boring looking though I have not done it. The one in the link above is in Chankanaab park and must be relatively "new" I believe. So I think we are talking about two different zip lines here:)

  6. We sail on her July 12 - next week. Taking my daughter and my 2 grands aged 13 and 14. Were the comedy shows for adults only?

I saw somewhere where the Rock n Roll show??? was too risque for children - is that right? I love all the shows and hope not to miss any.

I am already dreading what condition the Elation may be in since she does go into dry dock Sept. 25. and unfortunately, I have read many more BAD reviews than good ones on her lately. I'm glad you enjoyed your cruise and hoping we will also.

The pool looks awfully small - did the water slide folks take up all the space? Looks like it would.

    How was the food?

So Carnival is now letting you go straight to your rooms and not wait till 1:30 or 2pm as they used to do? I am platinum so hopefully we can board early and put our stuff up in the room.

  7. I know the last Elation sailing is on Sept. 20 and she goes into Dry Dock after her return on Sept. 25.

I am hoping she will have various upgrades to match other ships in the Fantasy class.

But I do not know for a fact any specifics. I understand from reading so many negative reviews, she is in bad need of some upgrading/facelifts!

I booked a last minute cruise on her next week - July 12th and now am dreading see the ship! Hoping to have fun on her anyway:)

  8. Given the situation of what looks like impending bombing attacks on Syria, what do YOU think HAL will do about its Holy Land cruise on Rotterdam 10/31?

I know it is prob too early, but when and what do you THINK might happen?

Substitute other ports and if so, would they refund if it has NO Holy Land ports any longer? I know they can change ports as needed, but just wondering since Cairo and Port Said have already been dropped for Limassol and Ephesus, where else could we go if Haifa and Ashdod have to be dropped?

Just wondering if they might refund or at least give that choice if the ship still sails but with such a different itinerary?

I am just asking for your opinion - I realize you cannot tell me anything for sure:)
