The dock packed away much better than it came out this morning! Apparently the motor failed but they didnt have big enough boats to tow it out!

It was good that the captain sent out a tender boat to help!

Also - big hugs to the peeps who's train broke down - which would have meant them missing the departure time! Cool that the ship waited!!!

I was stood out on my balcony and thought - this is definitely the "land of the midnight sun"

You guys eat late!!! But I guess Talinn tomorrow is a fairly relaxed stop ...... But next the St Petersburg Mayhem!!!!

I will write a review when I get back to the UK as I think if I get help and advice from the forum I should give back!

But it wont be on a par with this - just dont drop your phone in the hot tub!

One thing I will say - for a ship that has over 4000 passengers they do a great Job of making it never seem crowded - yes its big and although there are of course many people out on the sun deck the public areas. Bars and restaurants all seem easy to access and be served at- we had a delicious sushi lunch and I think there were 20 people in there!

It is you who is rude!! This forum is generally a friendly place where people share thoughts and information and ideas and you mentioned Vibe passes in your original post - so by doing so you should expect people to discuss them and add detail - as happens with most threads.

To be upset and frustrated when your question is not specifically answered is simply silly!! Of course threads wander off, happens all the time, - is it such a hardship to then politely ask the forum membership if they could be more specific about something if you do not get the response you're looking for

Oh and now look - the thread is all about your rudeness - sorry, how rude of me to hijack your original question - which I looked at because I am sailing on Breakaway in July - and thank you to all those of you who posted for all the extra information I've now gained!!

Completely agree!!

We were on the same cruise and if I have to rate it, it will only be 1 star and here is why?

 

1) We went to the main dinning room (Manhattan) on the first night and never went back for the rest of the cruise because it took 45 minutes for the appetizers to arrive and you have to spent 2 hours for a complete dinner which is way too long for us.

 

Blah blah blah and moan. (shortened so as nto to be boring)

 

The bottom line is we couldn't wait to get off the ship because there ain't a whole lot to do unless you like to drink a lot and hang around the bar all the time.

I cannot understand why you woudl choose to post this in someone elses positive report? By all means create a report and express your disatisfaction with NCL and the ship but to put it in somone elses report where they are inviting questions and not YOUR review is simply rude!!

We are going to St Petes July 18 and it will be a couple of weeks after the World Cup (thats soccer for my American friends) so I would feel even safer then

We got on the Jewel around 1.00pm and went to lunch in Cagneys - while we were there a hostess came round and asked if we wanted to do the Chefs table- we didnt even know there was one. So we signed up

Ive eaten at a number of good restaurants and enjoy tasting menus - the food was good and the wines generally went well with the food - however the portions are simply too big. At a tasting menu you should be thinking after 3 courses - "will I have enough food" and then at the end be thinking "phew - that was more than enough". Each course was a regular sized dish - so a full bowl of soup, a full portion of fish, a large veal chop!! These should all have been half the size - dessert and cheese were too much and most people could not finish.

Not sure much was accomplished by calling ahead.

 

1. Don't understand the advantage of knowing the concierge's name before you arrive.

 

2. Feather pillows banned? I guess that is good if you have allergys.

 

3. Stopping at one of the numerous bars to grab a beer is too much trouble?

 

4. Refrigerator emptied? That is really an issue? Fridges are so small not much fits in them anyway.

 

5. I have always had ample supplies and varieties everytime I have a suite. Never had to ask.

 

6. Highly doubtful you will get any other butler than what is assigned for that week. They rotate on a regular basis, and generally have blocks of rooms to make things easier for them and you.

 

Promises on the phone are easy to make. Having those promises fulfilled is a different story.

Yes - this was really helpful Im sure that everyone on this forum has greatly benefitted from such prosaic and informative commentary.
