Of those I have sailed, definitely The Dream
-
We only sailed Carnival for awhile and then we tried RCI Freedom of the Seas. Gosh we just fell in love with that ship. Also think the entertainment is a bit better on RCI. I would recommend that size of ship to try out. It's not too big and not too small. Just right!

I am a bit confused about Philipsburg. I am trying to get the, "Lay of the land". We have been to St. Martin but, always did ship excursions. My understanding is that there is a boardwalk where Great Bay Beach area is. Here you can rent chairs from Holland House. The next street is Front St and the next is Back St? Are the Yoda Guy and the casino on the street behind the boardwalk? After that are the shops on the next street? Thank you in advance for any assistance.

It is no contest. RCCL is far better with entertainment.
Agree!

I always bring a sweater as I also get cold in the dining room and theatre. Movie night outside it is a must for me. The wind makes me chilly.

Kahlua Colada:
Kahlua, rum, cream, coconut cream, pineapple juice and lime juice.
Perfect poolside!

We have skipped Nassau a couple of times. Might skip Cozumel as well if, it were not for Nachi Cocom. I enjoy new ports, repeats not so much but, sometimes I am cruising for the ship rather than the port.

I agree with starting off with a shorter cruise as a new cruiser. We did a 5 day in Europe and then remained onboard for another 15 days for a transatlantic. We were fairly seasoned cruisers then but, even my DH who has never gotten sea sick, felt queasy during some of our transatlantic sea days.

Nice to know for the future. :D

Not to get off topic but, do you not need your social security card to collect large casino winnings on the ship/island?
-
Ziplock baggies to take some cookies from the buffet back to the cabin.

I am 4'10 and have some issues due to arthritis. Can anyone tell me if the Royal Carriages have a step up, to the step up on the carriage itself? I am not sure how high the carriage step is and whether or not I would be able to navigate it.

Unfortunately, for some reason, the main boards have had their share of mean and
nasty posters lately. It did not used to be that way. Venting frustrations? Bored
out of school on summer break? Just hoping it tames down a bit, since many
others have noticed these obnoxious types and are leaving the boards recently.
Fortunately there really are more sincere people on these boards that are willing
to help, than the "other ones". I am sorry you have to experience that when you
are new to the boards. Hopefully it will get better again. :)
I agree with you completely. Funny is one thing but, mean is quite another. If you are only going to make a snarky comment why bother? Just be kind.

Don’t know if they still exist, but years ago there was a FB group called something like cruise critic sucks. They took delight in coming here and posting crazy stories, photoshopped images and out right lies....then run to JH page to make CC look bad.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Well that would explain some of the distain I have noticed coming from JH toward CC. I never really understood it as many on this board like him/Carnival very much.

Happy Anniversary to you both! I cannot wait to hear your review as we will be sailing away on Oasis for a B2B in Oct! :D

The aft pools where the adults are partaking in multiple drinks without restroom breaks are the warmest.
:confused::o

There’s s problem with the website? Never heard about it before.

When is a sale not a sale?
When it is advertised by RCL....

Thank you! The photos were wonderful.

I read on a old board that there use to be/still is a flat rate for cabs from the airport to Hilton Riverside. Can anyone verify this and if so, how much is it now?
-
Thank you for the review! We have a B2B booked in Oct. Glad to hear things were good overall.

Not sure what ship you are sailing on but, the Thelassotherapy pool is not on Vista. It's just a hot tub and not even that large of one.
But you do get slippers.

We have only taken 6 Carnival cruises but, don't hear from them often. Once and a blue moon we receive one of the postcard offers but, that's about it.

Favorite? Oh yes!
England, France, Belgium, and Holland. Our first trip to Europe. It was magical.
