AZNative2000, please explain Cruise Month promos.
-
Hmm, sounds pretty enticing. We just got off Celebrity Equinox and had their 1,2,3 Go offer. Like jimmy2x, we aren't big drinkers. But we love our wine with dinner and my morning cappuccino. This offer even had the gratuities added. We walked off that ship owing $30- unbelievable! Think I better give the other half a serious pitch.

Thank you all so much. I'll keep checking on Nov. 2016, as well as the February/March 2017 departures.

We are seriously considering a cruise on HAL for either late 2016 or possibly early 2017. I just received an ad from from an online TA claiming HAL typically only offers this once per year and it's valid only until end of this month for this year. Truth or hype? I would hate to miss it if we decide on the November sail.

I've heard November is nice also. That's another option we are considering.

Thank you so much. Here in the states holidays can vary quite a bit from state to state and even by county. Nice that yours are more uniform.

We are planning an Australia/New Zealand cruise for 2017 and yes, I realize I'm planning WAY in advance. Can anyone tell me when students are on break? We hope to avoid this busy time. Thanks.

I write my international toll free numbers for my credit cards on a slip of paper. It goes in my carry on in case cards are lost or stolen.

Just returned from a Celebrity cruise on Equinox. No refreshments provided, though a no host bar was available.

Yes, this is the area I was thinking of too.

Oh believe me, my husband shops. Usually he finds airfare deals before the TA. I'm going to put him on watching our booked cruises too!

Lahaina doesn't have really great beaches IMHO. Best bet would be grab a cab or the city bus (mauicounty.gov) and head to Kaanapali. Good beaches and you can even snorkel Black Rock (by the Sheraton). Later, grab a drink at the Hula Grill or one of the other establishments. A beautiful walkway also runs the length of Kaanapali. Fun way to spend a day.

I have a question about TAs too. We live in a town of 90,000 with only two agencies. Though we have booked through TAs each time we have never received an upgrade, even when booking 13 day Europeans. We've never qualified for a price drop either, but maybe that's because we mostly book insides. The most OBC received is $75. My question is, would it be better to use a TA from a larger city? My thinking is more business done. Thoughts?

Hubby tells me I made a mistake. 3147 already booked, we have 3157. This is closer to the lounge than 47 but still, think we will chance it. This room is more mid ship, and we've also read of noise complaints on those forward cabins. Still, I appreciate your input. Guess I better get that deposit in tomorrow!

I was told I should repost here. Looking at cabin 3147 for May cruise. Is it too close to lounges? Our other option is 8105. Hear thats noisy. This ship is selling out fast. Thoughts?

Wow, we are having a heck of a time finding a good cabin for a May cruise. My husband and I are currently looking at cabin 3157 for an Adriatic cruise. Its near guest relations, not too far from a lounge. We once had a RCCL cabin near a lounge and it was pretty loud. I'm hoping, though, that a European cruise won't be as crazy as the Caribbean ones can be. That's been our experience anyway. Anyone stayed in this area? Thoughts?
Explore 4- need some experienced HAL cruisers
in Holland America Line

Thanks all. I just went to "the gnome" and, if I'm reading the website correctly, the Explore 4 is much better than the standard rate for Aus/NZ cruise. But then again, I would never pay the standard, it was ridiculous. And POA1, I think I read one of your posts about wine"research" and it really made me smile. [emoji4]
