I like to dance into the evening and have fun at silent disco etc. this isn’t the vibe of retreat and that’s great for those who enjoy the retreat. Just stating it’s not the place for me but that doesn’t make me cattle. Also overall celebrity guests are older. How many people on here complain that the marketing material specifically targeted women in their 30s recently.

I will agree my words chosen would not be the ones I would normally choose since I am usually a little more diplomatic but it’s a reflection of being called cattle by OP after taking the time to say positive things.

I was describing the class I belong to. You all assumed I believed I belonged to a 'higher' class. You were wrong. You just need to chill and not jump to conclusions.

Any way might bump into you at the next silent disco if I can manoeuvre my zimmer frame onto the dance floor🤣

  2. I felt our first cruise on Celebrity was a decent step up from TUI, MSC & P&O and qualified as a premium brand. The staff to passenger ratio still helps here.

People complaining about Celebrity MDR food should try a MSC cruise out of Dubai 😞 (MSC had cornered the market in chip (french fries) off cuts. We never had a chip longer than 2 inches!!!)

Actually being referred to as cattle is very derogatory. As someone in their 30s travelling solo there is no way I could justify the price of double occupancy in retreat. Anyways I won’t pay more to be with a bunch of typically older more boring couples. As I’ve said in the past on here thank god people people aren’t as nasty on cruises as they are on CC especially the celebrity area.

    .....and I repeat

My last cruise was my first time in a Celebrity suite as we got a great price.

I know my level.....and it's in cattle class with a proper balcony, not one of those opening windows on Apex class 😉

(PS it's just a figure of speech, Cockney parlance if you will, forgive me)

(PPS Don't go on Twitter if you think this forum is nasty! This forum is like a walled flower garden in comparison 😂

    " cattle class" ???

Disgrace to use that term !!

Just because some of us choose to cruise in lower than the Retreat, we don't deserve to be referred to as " cattle " !!!

"Shame, I asked as we could not get any on our last cruise " .

Isn't that too bad--- You asked and someone said " No ".

FYI--- " Strength in Business is the ability to say " NO "---

    Good on Celebrity .

    lol

    You're easily triggered!!

They have a selection of ports, but the Tokaji and Sauternes are not offered these days — not since Covid.  More’s the pity! The 20 yr port is nice though.

Shame, I asked as we could not get any on our last cruise in February and that was in Luminae! We're back in cattle class this cruise so no chance then 🤣

I think what others are saying here is right on. Some of the experiences are changing but I wouldn't say that you would necessarily notice if you are new to Celebrity. The cruise lines are always changing and evolving but I trust the product of the beautiful ships, excellent staff, good food (in my opinion from my last cruise), and a relaxing atmosphere. No guarantees of course, but I think a positive attitude will take you a long way. Plus, for good reason, folks are more likely to bring their complaints than their good times so take it all with a grain of salt as well.

Unfortunately we are not new to cruising and having cruised Thompson (TUI), MSC, P&O, Azamara & Celebrity, we found Celebrity was our best fit. Part of that was down to the great food & service in the evenings in the main dining rooms. Cutting back on quality cuts of meat & fish, number of options, up charges and dessert wines just cheapens the brand in my opinion and will make us rethink in the future. I'm just hoping that these are the only cut backs we really notice. We will have a great cruise. We always do. I just thought Celebrity were a cut above and left the nickel and diming to other lines.

  7. Please help me!

I'm on the Infinity in 3 weeks time. I've read about all the cut backs. Do I have any improvements in service, food & beverage and/or entertainment to look forward to? The thought of school dinners mashed potato with dinner every night is already causing me lost sleep. I need some positivity!

(PS can you still get a desert wine, Sauternes or Tokaji, as part of the premium drinks package?)

  8. Rather than start a new thread does the Quest have a Martini Cocktail menu, i.e. cocktail menus in the bars that offer cocktails over and above the complimentary cocktails I have seen listed on the website? For example, on holiday I love an after dinner Expresso Martini (which I think would be covered any way) but then I like to search for my new second favorite Martini!

Also I didn't see a Mojito on the complimentary cocktail list but see no reason why it shouldn't be as it is one of the more common/popular cocktails based on white rum.

Last one - Aperol - very popular in Italy but I don't see this on any of the drinks packages. How can you cruise around Italy and not have an Aperol Spritz! (That's my gift to you if you have never sampled one. You must try one when in an Italian port).

Cheers (or 'bottoms up' as we say in the UK) !!

  9. Hi

I'm a virgin Azamara cruiser so be gentle!

Doing a couple of cruises on the Quest in July and despite reading all the advice in this thread (which is less than 5 weeks old) the UK website says this:

"Out of respect for others, bare feet, tank tops, baseball caps, bathing suits, shorts, and jeans are not allowed in the dining room or specialty restaurants. When dining at Windows Café, guests must wear footwear and a cover-up or shirt."

Have the rules changed? Is there one rule for the Brits and another for the rest of the world ;p

    I'm confused. Help!

(PS are smart, clean trainers/sneakers allowed in the main dining room for evening meals?)

  10. I cruised on the Fantasia this summer and sat/laid on the sunbeds by the Gaudi bar and swimming pool at the back of the boat.

On returning home we could not wash a load of small red dots and lines out of some of our swim wear and towels.

I am assuming this has been caused by ferrous/soot particles emitted from the ship's funnels.

Has anyone else noticed this and has anyone tried to bring this up with MSC as I'd estimate this has ruined over £100 of clothing.

  11. Having saved a bucket of cash arranging our own trips on the Coral Islands cruise a couple of years ago I'm prepared to put my own personal safety aside and that of my family to go native....despite what others may advise!!!

We are thinking of doing a half day beach buggy/quad biking via Erlebnis Tours Maroc. Has anyone used them or arranged something similar in Agadir?

If anyone else is interested we join the Destiny on 11/02 in Gran Canaria.
