  1. Anyone know if I put a reservation on hold tonight will I still be offered the reduced deposit tomorrow. Looking to book cruise but at work and need to run by wife first.

Hopefully you put the cruise on hold, as it would keep the 50 deposit.

  2. Are you able to order the $20 entree every night if you wish?

From what I understand not everyone at the table has to order it.

My friends (6 adults w/5 grandchildren) may have some but not all wanting to do this from time to time on their Ecstasy 5 day cruise out of Charleston.

They want those who want the $20 entrée to be able to get it without everyone having to do so.

Yes, whoever wants it can get it. It does not have to be ordered by everyone at the table.

  3. Adding people to a booking is no charge. However if you need to change category (upgrade) to get a cabin that fits 5 people you'll likely need to pay the difference.

Yeah, I know we will have to pay more. Would it be best for us to go ahead and book the deluxe ocean view category now, or could we just book an interior? Does it really matter? If they are out of the 5 person deluxe ocean views when we go to upgrade, then we will probably book an interior anyway.

  4. I'm looking at booking the Magic in May. My mom and I want to go ahead and book, and then eventually add my husband and two children to the booking.

Will we be able to change the booking to a five person room (pending that one is available) at a later date?

  5. A downside to gift cards is that you do have to give them cash or a debit/credit card at embarkation.

During the cruise, you can apply 7gift cards to settle the balance, but it will take time (1-7 days after Carnival settles that transaction) for the card holds to be cleared.

I have no idea how long it would take to get a cash deposit back, but I've heard refunds are in the form of a check mailed after the cruise.

I used only gift cards for my S&S account in april. I did not have to give any cash, or card info.
