If I remember correctly they were Tia Maria, Contreau and Grand Mariner.

I think ive only saw Tia Maria on any of the menus. The problem is probably because the cocktail list is so sparse they don't have these spirits onboard at all. The closest you'd get is a generic triple sec that they use in a cosmopolitan.

It’s been a tremendous success for Princess.

Because it's a decent deal IMHO. If you like a couple drinks before and after your evening meal your ahead. Princess also have a much better cocktail choice and also let you pay just the difference if you want something thats over the cutoff price.

I thought the CPS frequently asked questions were very specific:-

    image.png.0506e185d67d5eb5f78afaf3eb7af8e6.png

I've saw that, its not what I need to know, I need to clarify with someone about driver profile access, valet mode and battery drain with sentry mode turned on

  4. Hi,

Thanks, it's more specific to Tesla that I need some info on. We'll have the car before our next cruise but don't have it yet so im unsure about some things that relate to model 3 in particular 🙂

    The FAQ doesn't mention it

    Cheers

We basically have a maximum net price (cruise fare minus OBC) that we won’t go over for a cruise with P&O, and that’s £100 per person per night for a balcony cabin on a Select basis with parking included. That’s easily achievable on Iona and Arvia, but we managed to get cruises for less than that on Britannia and Ventura last year. Iona cost us more as we had a deluxe balcony cabin and had to go in peak August school holidays. This cap pretty much rules out the adult only ships, certainly on a Select basis, but we booked a Saver on Aurora for our recent cruise and that worked out at £73 pppn.

That Aurora fare was an absolute steal for that cruise!

Now that launch prices are no longer certain to be the cheapest, we have a target net price per night (cruise fare less OBC) and monitor these prices for any cruises that we might be interested in. If we can get the cruise for less than our target price we will book it, whether that’s at launch, after balance due date, or any time between. As our target price is quite low, if the price drops after we book we know it won’t be by much at all.

    Hi Selbourne,

What net price per night do you aim at?

Fantastic. What good news.  We’re just off Aurora and had never considered the drinks package before on our many cruises.  This is mainly because the restrictive classic package excluded most drinks we prefer such as nice wines and premium gins and fever free.

I didn’t start thinking seriously until I came back and started researching the deluxe package and then it was too late to find out on board.  However, I think if it includes these premium selections then for us it could be worth it, even though we are not big drinkers.  Nyetimber is fantastic and we prefer it to taittinger, which I think is excluded in the deluxe package.

Do you happen to know whether the deluxe package excludes any other glasshouse wines as well as taittinger please?

    Thanks so much

The only things excluded are the wine flights, and as you said the champers 🥂

Does anyone know if the deluxe  drinks package covers glasses of nyetimber in the glasshouse please?  Very specific but very keen to know and can’t find the answer.  Thank you 🙂

    Hi,

Yes it's included in the deluxe package but not the classic package. Its £9.15 to buy off the menu if your not on the deluxe package for a 125ml glass

It does if it is under the price threshold.

There is no price threshold anymore. The menu indicates that a particular drink is included in the various drinks packages with an C or D next to it (Packages including alcohol). 250ml wine is a single drink on the deluxe package. 330ml bottles of water are included in the classic and deluxe drinks packages

I think you find that paying on day 2 does not save you anything its the same price as day 1 for the whole cruise. But you do get the day 1 drinks included so not paying for them separably. I maybe wrong.

When you pay onboard the day after boarding they charge for a day less

One thing I need to work out is as we will embark on Arvia late in the evening after our flight to Barbados is it worth pre oredering the DP to receive the 10% discount or wait until the next day to order it onboard, I know we will lose the 10% discount but we would save around £80 as we wouldnt be drinking that much when we embark.

Just wondered what others have done in this situation.

I'd be inclined to pre pay anyway. The 10% pre cruise discount is worth £125 and you'll only save £80 by skipping that first day.

Having used both CPS and Parking4Cruises, the latter can often be quicker, especially with the bigger ships.

As most passengers use CPS, you need to be very clear to any Marshalls that stop you on your drive into the terminal that you are just dropping off. You go to one of the drop off lanes (that taxis etc use), rather than the lanes used by CPS, and unload your luggage. Passengers can alight from the car at this point and wait for the driver to return. The driver then drives the car the very short distance to the short stay car park for that terminal. Look for the Parking4Cruises flag and there will be a staff member (or members) checking in cars. Once they have checked your car, you leave them the key (same as CPS) and walk the short distance back to meet your travel companions.

When you return at the end of the cruise, you just go to the short stay car park to collect your car. This can often be a much shorter walk than where CPS may have parked your car, as the car parks they use are massive!

Whilst it sounds more complicated it’s actually very simple and at busy times with the bigger ships is much quicker, as you don’t get caught in the long holding queues that CPS deploy before they commence checking in cars, when the lanes are full, or when waiting for their drivers to return from parking cars. Plus, of course, the cost saving can be considerable, especially with cruises of 14 days or above. We have taken On Board Credit in lieu of CPS parking and the cost of Parking4Cruises has been £100 less than the OBC offered!

    Hi Selbourne,

Just wanted to say thank you for this comprehensive reply to the original question here. We've just booked a 31 night Princess cruise and I was looking at our parking options. Your response here was reasuring enough for me to book P4C instead of CPS. £188 compared to £377 and that was for their more expensive option with some flexibility for early car pick up on departure day! 🥂

Hi.  On The Iona Live 12th August 2023 thread,,Post number 55,ParisHilton has kindly posted the drinks menu which shows what’s included,or not with the drink packages   Hope that helps

Hi, Yes thanks Ive saw it, it was me who asked for it in that thread 🙂 Unfortunately after showing them to my wife its added that expense onto our holiday now as well lol

I dont think you get the 10% discount on the drinks package, just your loyalty discount.

You get 10% discount for purchasing any drinks package online prior to the cruise. You then get your loyalty discount off the pre purchase price as well. So Baltic tier for instance would get 10% then a further 10% off the discounted price, so 19% total. Not 20% like one of the previous posters thinks. If you want to be really pernickety the rounding down to 2 decimal places is done after the number of days is multiplied by the discounted price per day so there is only one rounding down done.

Re the OPs reasoning. If each kid had 4 soft drinks and each adult had 3 nice glasses of wine, a cocktail and a coffee thats break even point.

I'd go for that personally thats not a bad proposition. YMMV

Sorry but not the faintest idea.

But what I can tell you is that on each of the occasions I have used CPS the car has moved a few hundred yards and there it has remained for the fortnight until I returned.

Late reply, but yes. Ive got a tracker in my car and every time the car is moved a few hundred yards to the left of the car park where you pick it up on return. CPS sometimes move it to the car park where you pick it up from soon after handing over to them, then they move it later to the other car park 200 metres to its left. It moves back to that car park opposite the ship right before we disembark.Every time ive tracked it thats what happened.

    Hi,

If you’re able to could you possibly upload the glasshouse wine menu 🙏

Yes will try and do that. That's a bar in the atrium right?

    Hi,

Yes the glasshouse is the bar on deck 7 of the atrium, the middle deck 🙂 The wine menu there is different to all the other ones so a look at what's included on the drinks packages now would be great!

    Thanks!

  17. Hi All,

Does anyone have photos of the Glasshouse wine menu since the drinks package changes?

Curious to know what is now included on the classic and deluxe drinks packages with the new menus. Anyone for recent copies?

    TIA
