  1. It was working for me earlier, but I'm back to not even being able to log in again.  Or, if it lets me log in, it doesn't remember it once I try to go to my booking.  Right now, if I try to log in, I just get "We couldn't process your request. Please try again or call us at 1.800.764.7419."

Clearly, they are working on things...

Im not sure what you mean by "copy-and-paste of the link".  If your cruise is fully paid just click on the print docs under My to do list on your Cruise Manager Page there is no copy and paste required.

Last week, those links were not showing up for some of us.  Even with a paid-in-full cruise.  You had to copy and paste in the document link with your booking number to get to your documents.

I'd check my To-Do list now, by Carnival's site is not even letting me log in.  (Or, it does, and then logs me back out before I can get to the ToDo list page.)

In any case, I was looking at the correct documents.  It wasn't on there.  I've emailed the rep that I reserved it with.

Yep, if you are not seeing it in your docs, then you don't have it.  I would certainly go to the person you booked it with, because if they said you would get it, then you should.

One other note for future... when you book and they email you your booking confirmation - OBC WILL show up on it.  It should be there in the total lines right from the get go, if it is not, then I would contact them back right away.   Check your initial booking confirmation email and see if it shows there, if not, then again somebody seems to have misled you on your OBC.

I wish Carnival made it much easier to see OBC while just looking at your booking info on line!

So, part of the issue is that this was related to Carnival's website making statements about NOT canceling a cruise.  When I originally booked with the wedding party, it was just a $25 OBC.  No big deal.  But then, a couple of months ago, we'd get updates every week from Carnival about the status of our August cruise.  It had a link to click where you'd enter your booking number and cruise date and it would give you the status of your sailing (since everyone was wondering if it was going to be cancelled or not).  One of those weeks, when I clicked through to check the status and it said it was still sailing, it had a new section at the bottom that said that I could cancel now for a full refund -- or I could continue to sail and would receive an additional $100 OBC for NOT cancelling the cruise.  So, I didn't cancel, of course.  THAT is the $100 OBC that I am looking for.  So, there was never any email or booking confirmation to state it.  (My original booking email DID show the $25 OBC.)

So, this is more than just my original booking.  It is Carnival extending an additional $100 OBC to not cancel earlier this year.  That is what I have no email record of.

Note that I mentioned the $100 bonus OBC for not cancelling when I spoke with my rep when they switched from the Elation to the Magic (because I needed to adjust my room).  He confirmed that I'd get the extra $100 OBC later.  And that is what I'm trying to track down now -- since, again, it is not showing in my documents (but I have no original email to go back to since it was just on the web site).

Is it possible you are not looking in the right place?  They do not make it easy to see.

To see OBC you actually have to go into your "to do list" in your cruise reservation on line and print all your cruise documents (I always just print it to my screen so I don't waste paper).  The OBC actually shows up on these documents, but no where else when you look at your booking details on line.

Yes, I used the manual link doing the copy-and-paste of the link with my booking number to pull up the full docs -- and it is not there.  I even confirmed with others where it should be on that document -- and it isn't there for mine.

I've emailed the person that I booked it with.  Not my normal rep because this was a group/wedding event, so I had to go through a different guy.  We'll see what he says.

  5. Indeed -- he seems to be stuck on the word "onboard."  I could easily state that "Onboard Credit" means that you use it for things that you do while "onboard" your cruise trip -- such as excursions and so on.  Clearly, it COULD be done, it just ISN'T done.  But that's very different than saying that there is "there's no way for them to use it" simply because it is called an "onboard" credit.  It can't currently be done -- and I don't see them changing it soon -- but it certainly COULD be done if they wanted to do so.

I've noticed no 3rd option - Have you been previously diagnosed with and recovered from Covid?

    - The Forgotten 20

Well, probably because that option isn't really needed.  The question would still be if you have been vaccinated or not.  Those that have recovered often do not have the antibody level that the vaccine provides -- and can still get it again and be a symptomatic carrier.  In other words, people who have had Covid are not as protected as those who are vaccinated.  So, in my opinion, the questions would be the same: have you been vaccinated?  If not, then they are going to count that person NOT in the "95% vaccinated" group.

  7. Is there a way to contact Carnival about an upcoming cruise without calling on the phone?  I'm having an issue where my account does not show the Onboard credit that I was promised.  When I booked it, I was told that it would "just show up" when we were closer to the cruise -- but everything I can find online seems to indicate that that is just not how it works -- and that if it isn't there now, then it isn't going to magically appear later.

So, I'm at the point where I'd really like to have a log of any conversations about this.  So, I'd much rather email them, for example, so that I get a response in writing that I can refer to later if I have issue with the credit, you know?

Or is my only option to call?  If I must call, do I need to speak with my rep that booked it?  Or can I call a more general number since, again, I feel like he's just telling me something so that I go away.  🙂

    Thanks!

  8. So, I got the same email earlier today saying to do it immediately "upon receipt of this email." (Emphasis theirs!)

So, I followed the instructions to find it in my To-Do list, clicked the link to fill it out and just got a blank page that says: "Questionnaire is not available at this time."

    So, yeah.  Ok.  🙂

Thanks for the info but, unfortunately, that doesn't seem to work for me.  I fill in my booking number and try the link and it just redirects me back to my main page.

I am part of a wedding party -- maybe it won't show it to me because of that.

Update: I could not get it to work yesterday at all.  Did the exact same thing this morning and it worked fine to pull it up.  Thanks.

  10. So, we were booked on the Elation going out of Port Canaveral in August.  This is with a wedding party and all were told that they would each get $25 Outboard credit as part of the deal.  We booked it months ago.  Now and then we'd get updates from Carnival regarding cruises -- and confirming that our August ship was still sailing.  It gave a link to click where you could then put in your cruise info and it would tell if that cruise was still sailing -- and had the option at the bottom to initiate cancellation.  On one of those visits, I noticed that it had a note at the bottom that said that you could cancel if you wanted to, but that if you left your reservation as it was, you'd get $100 Onboard credit for that sailing.  I had no intention of cancelling anyhow, so I left it as it was.  Did anyone else see that $100 Onboard Credit bonus offered during the "unknown" times for the July and August cruises?

When our ship switch from the Elation to the Magic and we get our new room assignments, I called to change things (because I ended up with a room right underneath the main stage) -- I switched to a balcony to move up to the Lido Deck.  When I did that, I asked the person about the onboard credits and he said that they'd stay the same.  I asked specifically about the $100 extra that was offered on the "updates" link -- and he said that I would get it, but that I wouldn't see it until after I had paid in full and it was closer to the cruise.  Final payment was due on the 21st of this month -- so it has now been paid in full.

Is there any way to see online if there is any Onboard Credit associated with my booking?  I'm just trying to confirm that I'm actually going to get the original $25 plus the extra $100 that we were promised.  Can I see this somehow now?  Or is it normal to not be able to see it until close to (or actually on) the cruise?

  11. Just to add another data point...  We are on the Magic in August (was the Elation and then got swapped to the Magic -- and our itinerary also changed to now just be Nassau and then Half Moon Cay).  It also shows no excursions at all for me for Half Moon Cay.  Has them for Nassau, but not Half Moon.  So, basically, exactly what you are seeing -- so it isn't just you.  🙂

Hopefully we'll see some soon. I've never been to Half Moon Cay before...

  12. Just to follow up on this -- when the August itineraries went live, I checked and it was actually cheaper for me to move to a balcony room over what I had before.  So, I called and got it swapped -- paid less money and moved from Deck to to Deck 10 (Lido) and a balcony!  Nice!  🙂

  13. I am booked on this in August (was on the Elation, now the Magic).  I haven't received an email previously about my new room assignment, but logged in today just to look and it does show the new room on the Magic.

My question is this: what is a reasonable deck change?  On the Elation, we were on the Upper deck.  The Elation looks like the bottom four decks are the primary room decks (with just some suites on Verandah and Grand, of course).  So, Upper deck on the Elation is the 3rd deck from the bottom.  I picked this room specifically so that it would be surrounded by other rooms and not right under a show/stage area.  Our reservation is for a "6C Oceanview."

On the Magic, we have been assigned to Deck 2 -- right below the Showtime Theater (which is Decks 3-5).  Now, based on the color, it appears to be a "6M Deluxe Ocean View" -- so maybe it is a proper/fair room change?

I guess I'm just a little bothered because it is such a low deck and right below the stage -- which I specifically tried to avoid on the Elation.  But, again, if it is the equivalent room and that is where they happen to be on the Magic, then I guess that is what I should have.  On the Magic, are all of the Oceanviews on Deck 6 and higher ones with balconies?  I'm trying to tell from the map, but I have trouble matching up some of the colors to know for sure.  🙂

Just thought I'd ask here to see if it was worth trying to make a change.  Or if it isn't even possible if no such room exists on a higher deck and I'd have to move to a balcony to be on a deck higher than 2.

  14. Note that some of the reviews mentioned that they were trying to charge an iPad and another device (such as an iPhone) at the same time. It will actually NOT do that. It supposed 2.1amps TOTAL across the two ports. So, you can charge two 1amp devices at the same time -- or just one 2.1amp device (like an iPad).

    Just to mention it.

    - John...

  15. I am on Amazon now and some of the reviews say the USB is not strong enough to charge an ipad. Does that meant this higher amp one should?

Yeah, the reviews are all mixed together regardless of which model the person bought -- so you have to be careful when reading them.

The one I linked to is the 2.1amp one -- which absolutely can charge an iPad, iPhone, Galaxy S, and other devices that require the higher amperage to charge.

    Should be fine!

    - John...

  16. Ordered my 2.1A Belkin about two weeks ago from Amazon for about $19 with free two day Prime shipping. Got it day after I ordered.

Weird. I've never seen it that low except for the Deal of the Day. There is a site that tracks prices even -- and I just checked and it says the cheapest this has been since the middle of March (besides the Deal of the Day price) is $21.23.

    - John...

  17. Yeah, sold out now, sorry -- and now offered by another Amazon Merchant at $29.99.

If you still want one, I would recommend that you wait until Amazon gets them back in stock themselves -- because then they should at least be $21.99 (or less) instead of the $29.99 that they are right now.
