If you are a frequent NCL cruiser then you know that you can apply one certificate for a future cruise, unless you book during a Double Up promotion. The terms and conditions of Cruise Next certificates are pretty clear.

I understand what you are saying.  BUT my problem is I was told three different interpertations of how to use the cruise credits.  Somebody lied!

  2. After my next 2 cruises I will have completed 4 cruises.  Amounting to 345 days on a ship.   I have cruise all lines.

I hope you don't just see me as a complainer, because I am not.  Yes I have been on bad cruises but I have never posted about it.  But, this is totally different.  While on the Breakaway 9/11/22 I listen to a future cruise presentation.  I asked about the restrictions.  I was informed I could the $250 credit and bonus $250 credit on the same cruise.  So this year I tried to book a cruise on the Jade for May 15th.  First I was told I could only use both $250 on a balcony.  I told the person that I was told on the Breakaway that I could .  Then he told me I could if I booked a cruise which was over 6 months in advanced. So I booked the Jade May 15th.  After I booked it they only credited a $250.  I called and spoke to a person in resolutions and explained all that had happened.  He told me I couldn't apply both credits.  I asked for a refund of my original $250.  He told all refunds needed to asked for within 30 days.

So here is my conclusion.  I WILL NEVER CRUISE ON NCL AGAIN.  I can take almost anything but lyind to me is crossing the line with me.

I see in your signature that you sailed on the Regal Empress. Now THAT is one ship that I didn't shed a tear for when they sent her to the scrapyard. Frankly, that ship is the only one I've ever been on that I could not wait for it to be over, and that takes A LOT (for me) !

Edit - I'm sure in "its day", it was something.  🙂

When on Regal Empress because it was the same ship as our first cruise.  I agree it was not a great ship the second time.

It is probably a casino cruise.  I just took one in March, to the Caribbean, same details.  I did not think that it was just for Mariners, although we are 5*.  Were you told that by HAL?  When I asked about our March '23 cruise, the rep told me that HAL really doesn't know how Casino picks the chosen.  I have since received one more and another "free inside" from HAL directly, which is slightly different and carries a different code.  Enjoy!  It is a good deal.

  5. I just booked the Neiuw Statendam 7 day cruise to the eastern Caribbean on December 10, 2023.  Here is the good news I only paid port charges of $185.00 per person.   I also had to pay a $100.00 booking fee per person but I also receive a $100,00 shipboard credit per person.  I only catch was the cruise had to be paid in full at the time of booking.  I think this for mariners members only.  I got a email giving me all the information.

  6. I have sailed with MSC 4 times and can say MSC is now my favorite cruise line.  Service has always been great.  Staff exceptionally friendly.  For the money it is, I my opinion, the best value for your money.  I am 76 and don't expect as much now as I did 30 years ago, my first cruise was in 1988.  My next cruise, 1/22/23, will be my 39th.  And in April I take my 40th.

  7. I, like many of you received an email saying after 9.3.22 you can board the ship without a test in the last 72 hours.  BUT that is not right you need a negative test to enter Canada.  I called yesterday and founded this out.

THIS IS VERY HARD TO UNDERSTAND

  8. My wife is handicapped and used an electric scooter.  We normally cruise the carribbean.  But she wants to go north this time.  We are leaving NYC 9/11/22 going up the eastern seaboard.  My problem is parking.  In Florida the parking at the terminal is free for handicapped people.  It is very easy to get her to the ship and park.  But in NYC I have no idea.  Can anyone recommend a safe, reasonably priced and near to the terminal parking garage.  In Florida the parking garages belong to the terminal.  Don't know in NYC.  Any help or advise will be truly appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

  9. Well back to cruising again.  Our last cruise  on MSC was canceled because of covid In March of .2020.  We found a relatively inexpensive cruise on the Carnival Horizon 9 days to the Southern Caribbean.  We use to travel Carnival when I first started cruising in the early 90's.  Didn't like them back then.  I heard they have changed some.  I hope I didn't make a mistake.  I am 75 my wife is 68.  We have been to all  the port we are cruising to many times before.  Any thought on this ship for us.  We don't drink gamble very little.
