  1. WOW. What a ridiculous thing to say. I hope your son doesn't have your attitude, while he's "serving our country." My husband is currently overseas & if he & the others he is deployed with, went over there with the mentality of "I can do what I want, because I serve".... He would be put in his place very quickly. So I'd say, no, teach your kid to be respectful of rules. It will help him in his career. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  2. As previous posters mentioned, we got OBC as part of a special promotion. We booked in January for our June Dream cruise. The military rate was $25 cheaper than the VIFP rate and came with $90 OBC. We couldn't take advantage of the $50 per person deposit they were offering, but it was worth it to us! 3. I just found out about it & am so excited for my upcoming cruise! What a great way to get into the cruise spirit!! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  4. Here is the blurb from Carnival's website! Carnival is currently offering a free bottle of wine per steakhouse reservation booked for the first night of the cruise. Since the first night of the cruise has generally been the slowest night fleetwide for the steakhouses they are offering this as an incentive to get guests to dine with them on that night. The only choice you have for the free wine bottle is from the two house wines - either Santa Carolina Chardonnay or Santa Carolina Merlot. Sent from my iPad using Forums
  5. Yes! Just go to "manage > plan activities < steakhouse" and you can submit a request for the date/time. You can put the number of guests that will be dining and I believe since it will be under your booking, that you will be able to treat the other couple as you mentioned. Word of warning - if you don't see a reservation confirmation in your email, check your spam folder! That's where mine appeared. :) Sent from my iPad using Forums
  6. If you book on the first night of the cruise, you get a free bottle of wine! I think it is one per table, not per couple! Oh and also, you can schedule it through carnival's website ahead of time! I think it helps to book ahead of time to ensure you get the time you want! Sent from my iPad using Forums
  7. We booked at the Hampton Inn Convention Center. It's literally right across the street from the terminal! A friend recommended it to me. Not much to look at from the outside but supposedly the rooms are nice! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  8. Hey there! I'm also on your cruise & came across a FTTF available! I have been checking religiously! So exciting! We can meet up in the VIP area! Haha Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  9. Definitely check your spam folder! I was about to email a 2nd time, but checked there first & there it was. :) Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  10. The Pride was my husband's first cruise and I have that ship to thank for him wanting to cruise again! It's the perfect size so you don't feel overwhelmed, but it's big enough that there is always something to do. We loved the piano bar & late-night pizza! We don't cruise often, so I'm not sure how common this is, but we were very excited to get an upgrade from an interior to an obstructed view ocean view. It was nice to be able to open the doors & get some fresh air... For the price of an interior! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  11. (Sorry for the post above-wont let me edit) I am from Pittsburgh & on my recent cruise, we gave our room steward a Terrible Towel. (Maybe he was acting) but he seemed really excited & mentioned that he couldn't wait to send it home to his son. I think everyone's situation is different. While money is obviously the best (we did give him cash in addition to the Terrible Towel) I think sometimes something small can be appreciated too.

  13. My boyfriend and I booked an inside guarantee for our recent Pride cruise. We were excited to get placed in a 4K. We were smack in the middle of a lifeboat (Room 4152) but having paid for an interior, I agree, you can't beat this! It was great to be able to open the curtains & have some light come in. We never saw anyone outside our room nor on the deck directly below us. Though we didn't really open the doors (weren't sure how to keep them open, they're heavy!!), the light coming in was more than enough for us. I have pictures of our room if anybody is interested in that particular location!
  14. I'm loving your review so far! My boyfriend and I liked/didnt like a lot of the same things that you have mentioned. Overall we were happy with breakfast in Mermaids, lunch from the grill, and dinners in Normandie. I do admit at times food was lacking. I recognize you from around the ship! We were in the Ivory Bar that night (and every night!) as well. Paul was awesome. We really enjoyed the show he put on.
