  1. We always used Uber in South Florida up until our last stay back in February. Two bad experiences in one trip, all set with Uber down there!!! First of all, they can "price gouge", which Uber considers price surge. It is supposed to be in conjuction with a higher demand time, but honestly, what we paid was ridiculous!!! We spoke to a local cab driver in Ft. Lauderdale shortly after we were charged almost $60 by Uber to get from the airport to our hotel which was less than ten miles from the airport, he told us a cab fare would've been MAX $30! Our other experience on the same trip was when our Uber driver got lost, while failing to pay attention to his GPS, on his way to take us back to the airport which resulted in us missing our flight! We live in CT and we could not get out that day, the next day and several days after we were hit with snowstorms up here. As a result of the Uber driver getting lost, we missed our Sunday flight and could not get a flight back until Wednesday. Needless to say, that error cost us a TON of money!!! Uber did nothing for us but give my friend a $10 Uber credit on her account! I would honestly rethink Uber!

  2.

I believe we were group 21, but I was not concerned as I had no plans of making the mad dash to get Vibe passes that I've read so much about. Also, in that terminal they don't call even numbers, only odd, so it went 9, 11, 13 etc and we were called. I would say it took about 20 minutes to get onboard and I thought it would be a good idea to get the card situation straightened out before we even went to lunch.

I'm going to end it here for tonight as it's getting late. More tomorrow.

What time did you arrive? We went on this cruise back in January and I honestly cannot recall what time we arrived, or what group we were in. I just recall we were on the ship by 1:30ish... I'm curious for our next cruise. Thanks!

  3. That's good information. We also just booked our cruise with the free drinks promo, and wow it's really a great deal and I did go back and read the terms again and even the drinks over $15 you only pay the difference, plus the 18% grat. I'm glad I went back and read after seeing this post as I thought you paid the entire cost of a drink that cost over $15. Thank you.

It's not often you even find one over $15. Occasionally a craft beer or a glass of wine. But honestly, we went on this cruise back in January and saw very few things over $15!

  4. We loved the District Brewhouse. We started going there for trivia one night midway through the cruise and wished we had started earlier in the week. They usually have trivia in there nightly at 7:30 with a different theme each night. There were five of us, two parents and three mid twenty-somethings and we all enjoyed it. Beers are included on the UDP but a couple of us who don't prefer beer loved some of their mixed drinks. They have a limited appetizer menu from Food Republic and the food was really good. We ordered the apps every time we went because they were so good. I think you will really enjoy it if you go.

I was unaware that they had an appetizer menu there, perhaps it wasn't an option yet when went back in January...or perhaps we overlooked it. Were the apps included or did you have to pay extra? tia

  5. I bid 150 on a 4 star and got Sonesta, looks nice! Anyone familiar?

Yes, have stayed there several times and love it! It's a little off the beaten path in that it is on the northern end of the beach, but we still love it! The rooms are beautiful, beds super comfy, view is to die for and it is impeccably clean. It's right across from the beach, maybe about a mile walk to a water taxi stop, there are a variety of restaurants, shops and bars in the area...and really not a bad walk to get to the "main drag" on Fort Lauderdale beach, maybe a mile and a half to two miles. Plenty of great dining along the way! I'd be thrilled to get it for $150!!!! Oh, and do yourself a favor and have either breakfast or lunch at Primanti brothers right next door, delish!!!!

  6. We booked Jost Van Dyke on our own, and yes, it was less expensive than the ship. However were not impressed with the place and thought the Soggy Dollar was a rip. But each of us has our own opinions about excursions.:)

Who did you book through? What was the cost? What were the times of departure and return? How much time did you get on JVD?
