  1. What time is lunch served? Are the lines horribly long for the buffet?

When you first board the ship and head to the desk, do they show you a diagram of the locations of the cabanas that also indicates where the restrooms and lunch buffet are?

    Thanks so much!

Yep, the show you a map of the beach area, the cabanas are numbered and you can see the proximity to the food area, restrooms, etc.

We didnt find the food lines too long at all...they had multiple stations open and they moved fast. I honestly cant remember the times but Id like to say 11-1 or something..? Also, youll have snacks in your cabana to tide you over :)

  2. I know i made the right decision renting this. So what do they mean when they say that cabana renters get on the island 1st? How do they know,do we get a ticket? It said that we can get on atleast an hour early before anyone. Also do people still try to go onto peoples cabanas? I mean how stupid can they be?

Tekel you will love it! I had a cabana for the first time in Aug 2010 and I am hooked! Got mine rented online already for my Sept2011 cruise.

Did you rent yours online? What you do when you board the ship is go to the shore excursions desk, give them your shoe sizes for the snorkeling gear (included), soda preferences and then they will issue tickets.

I haven't heard of any recent cabana squatting, but as the season picks up who knows. I swear, there is a sign that says Private! But apparently the sign isnt enough sometimes! lol!

  3. its common sence people, i dont know why anyone would put something suspicious in their bag with the rumrunners...your basically asking for your bag to be inspected, and once they open your bag looking for what looked suspicious on the xray and see the rumrunners...its open season on your bag. all i can say is DUH.

    Exactly!

  4. I bet the Bailey's is what they opened the luggage for and then they found the rum runners. I have never used Rum Runners but plan on it next cruise. The luggage you put them in needs to have nothing questionable it in. Of course there is always the chance that they pick your luggage for the random search. Its a luck of the draw!

I was just gonna say that. We had cans of pineapple juice in one suitcase...RR's in another. The only bag that got checked was the pineapple cans (we got a letter).

We keep the RR's seperate from any other bottle and can shaped items.

  5. Just wanted to say when I asked around about the jet skis on HMC 6 months ago I was told it was a slow guided excursion strictly enforced, so we decided against it. On Nassau they tend to rip you off on time, look for a post by scubagirl, she had the info on that.

I read that about Nassau as well....pay for 30 mins, try to get you to come back after 20-mins, etc.

  6. Not goin till last week of august....heard good things bout it tho as long as ur not expecting to go out and be able to do wutever u want. But as long as u can go full speed im fine with it lol.

See thats what Im concerned about. I did read about some sort of buoy course but was wondering if they gave any free time.

We want to do jet skis either here or Nassau, but we are already doing a booze cruise on Nassau.

  7. I am going to be in Grand Turk September 17, 2011, on the Carnival Liberty. I emailed Oasis Divers about this tour and got an email back that said I had to book through ship because they had a tour set up through Carnival. But I was interested in this tour as well so if anyone has any info please share.

Interesting about Oasis! I was going to email them as well.

edit: The description of the Gibbs Cay tour on how its described on the Oasis Divers site and the CCL site are different. On the Oasis site,t hey talk of a BBQ and Conch diving..which is what I want. The CCL tour just talks of going to Gibbs Cay, stingrays and a complimentary drink.

  8. NO! maybe i'll have to give that a try

have you tried them using vanilla stollis? YUM!

mmm the vanila sounds good! Someone also recommended trying the bluberi stoli too!

Soo many flavors....soo little time :p
