  1. Quick ???

In April of 2015 we were in a suite on Royal Princess. We never had a

pillow chocolate. We're on Princess again this fall and wondered if Princess had done away with these. I know everyone but me knows, :-), but I couldn't find a thread about it on search.

That seems like an odd miss on the ship, was on the Regal in April and had them every night. They're not gone.

  2. Hi Cruisers,

I'm curious if the International Cafe on the Princess Cruise serves Tazo Chai Latte (from Starbucks) on board?

I'll be going on one of their ships in August and would be delighted if they serve my favorite drink! :p

    Thanks!

The Regal in April had Chai Latte''s. Not Tazo, but very good. I love the ones from Starbucks and wasn't disappointed in theirs.

  3. So Princess only has a 7 day menu cycle? X has a 14 day cycle.

It depends on the cruise. I was on the Regal, 14-Day Transatlantic and no menus repeated. Same on my parents 15-day Hawaii trip. But if you did two 7-day Caribbean's together, they will repeat.

  4. Hi All,

We booked D702 , which is near the stairs. I'm a little worried about the noise? I'd appreciate any feedback anyone could give me.

    Thanks very much!

I just got home from the Regal, D730. That entire back end of the ship was super quiet. There's no inside cabins so you have far less traffic going by.

  5. We are Elite and know we have priority disembarkation but have never taken advantage of it. Say as a "for instance" we have Red 8 getting off the ship at 10:00. What is the procedure if we want to get off the ship earlier?

    Thanks in advance!:)

As I understand it, that only applies to in ports during the trip. If you want to get off at the end sooner, just go to the pursers desk and ask for the appropriate tags. I did it when I was gold even. You do get the benefit of the disembarkation lounge however.

  6. I know this has been addressed before but I could not find the thread. Do they time it in a way that does not interfere with Glacier Bay touring on a sea day? We are thinking of signing up for it but do not want to lose the beauty of the Glacier Bay.

It'll be timed to not interfere. I found it worth it. Got lots of goodies, though I understand some have changed. We got:

    Plush robe

    Chefs coat

    8x10 frame

    5-7 pictures

    Personalized Stationary

    other things I cant remember

treats in the Galley and at the end.

It was very informative and very interesting. Ours ran over four hours. We missed the Medical bay and the funnel because of an emergency and weather.

I plan to do it on the Regal next spring due to it being so different from the Sapphire and I'll have 9 sea days to kill. :)

  7. Hey there!

This is probably really silly, but I am taking the Sept. 14th Ruby Princess cruise from Vancouver to Los Angeles. It is part of a bigger trip where I'm going to California to see my family then road trip up I5 to bring my mom's car back to Washington. I'm traveling alone and I have a couple questions on what I can/can't bring aboard, because I'd like these items for the road trip aspect.

1.) I carry Damsel in Defense peppy spray on my key chain. It makes me feel safe. It's kinda a weapon, kinda not....?

2.) Roadside assistance kit? Or should I order it on Amazon and have it shipped to my parent's house, so they load it up?

3.) Homemade Scottish shortbread? My grandpa LOVES (!!!!!!! Underline the word 40 times) my shortbread. It is the one thing he cheats on his diet with, and I use butter from a super local creamery. When I make it for him when I am in California it doesn't taste as good. Can I pack it in my suitcase?

I feel lile this trip is three different trips: fancy cruise where I'm an elegant single lady (so cute sundresses, bathing suits, and fancy shoes), family reunion with a Disneyland trip in there (and I kinda want to Disney Bound), and road trip (1400 miles. To do it in three days I have to travel 433+ miles a day. So yoga pants, tank tops, trucker/baseball cap, with books on CD). Having a hard time figuring out what to pack considering when I get back to Washington it will be fall versus summer like CA desert weather.

Thanks in advance for answering! I have only really cruised on Disney and then it was Caribbean or Panama.

I don't think you can bring the spray, so have one shipped to your parents along with the roadside kit.

As far as the shortbread, bringing it along won't be a problem but getting it back off the ship in LA may pose an issue. California's pretty strict about un-packaged foods. You'd be better off shipping this down too,

  8. Tendering will depend on the number of ships in port and when you arrive in port. Ships have had to tender in Ketchikan, Skagway, and Juneau based on capacity. I know Princess rarely has to tender but it does happen. See your own itinerary and do a search of what the port's schedule is that day too so see who else will be there and their scheduled times. This is always subject to change.

  9. Does anyone know what the Grand Princess is doing from May 4-8? There is a gap in the schedule between a 3 day northwest coastal and a cruise to Alaska. It is during a transition and it is either going into dry dock or has a private charter.

I'm pretty sure it's a charter. Someone a few months ago complained (with good reason) about their may trip being canceled due to a charter in the Vancouver area.

  10. I did a search, but there were only a few for the Royal Princess and there was one comment that led you to believe the problem has been solved. If anyone has sailed post Oct 11, please reply ...I don't really want to move as this is our first aft experience...but then again....I don't want it to be a waste of money too.

    Appreciate everyone's help.

My parents just got back from the Royal today and they had an aft corner Owners Suite on Caribe and they reported little to no issue. The steward cleaned multiple times a day and they only saw a minute amount of soot on one day. Now there are more then just a few factors that may make it more or less. Wind direction and the fuel being burned to name a few. They considered it a non-issue.

  11. Can we bring on liquor such as lemoncello when we board in Venice for them to hold until the end of the cruise. We want to bring some home as a gift. Is it the same policy in ports. From what I understand they would just destroy it. Has anyone had a recent experience with this.

If you're bringing it on from a port, just check it at the liquor table, you'll get it back the last night. They only destroy what you smuggle at embarkation.
