My husband has hearing problems as well as memory problems. We like to go to dinner late (7:45ish). But it is much more comfortable for us to have a table for two. Sometimes the wait staff seems a bit judgmental about our request for a table for two. Fortunately, on our last two cruises - Coral and Sapphire - we have had very understanding head waiters.

My parents do the same because of my Dad's hearing impairment, he feels lost at large tables because his hearing aide doesn't pick up the conversations and my Mom ends up repeating everything. They've gotten well known enough that the headwaiters know them in advance and set up a quiet table for them from the onset. They choose any time dinning over traditional, always.

According to Princess's website:

Most items available through Gifts & Services may be purchased up until 72 hours prior to disembarkation, with the following exceptions: Special Occasion Packages, Renewal of Vows Packages, Celebration Packages, Honeymoon /Anniversary Packages (these items must be purchased no later than 5 days prior to sailing). Additionally, flower orders for the Ocean Princess and Pacific Princess must be ordered at least 8 days prior to the sailing date as there is no florist onboard.

Does anyone recently off the Crown know who the current sommelier is?

The Ruby Princess now? I'm sailing in early March and hoping he's onboard.

Last I heard he'd moved to the Emerald a little over a year ago. He's so awesome. :) I have fond memories of defending him against a real jerk the time I sailed with him.

My husband & I did the tour last summer on Caribbean Princess. I brought my camera along in my pocket.

 

When we got to the bridge, I asked permission to take pics.....and I got some awesome ones in the furthurmost corner...over the water...looking back at the ship

 

Remember they take pics of you along the way...I made sure to wear a black shirt to hide my cruise waistline expansion!
