  1. DECEPTIVE ITINERARY - NOT DOCKED IN PARIS

DON'T EXPECT TO SPEND 3 FULL DAYS IN PARIS!

Instead of being in Paris, docked just below the Eiffel Tower, we were docked next to a modern bridge in the small town of Le Pecq, which was 1 hour from Paris, if you were lucky. Traffic made one trip 1 1/2 hours. Instead of walking off our ship to tour Paris at 9:00AM, we got off our shuttle bus at 11:30AM. Viking lied to us as to the reason. They stated it was due to excessive rainfall and the level of the river. The truth is that the Viking Rinda has never docked in Paris, or had a license to dock in Paris. We were never informed of this at any point until we showed up for the ship at the docking location in Paris, where the ship was supposed to be.

    snfman,

How was the rest of the cruise, food , wine, was there plenty of bottled water available? thanks. We are going in July .

  2. what we have done is wrap each bottle in bubble wrap and get huge zip lock bags and put 2 per bag .Even if god forbid they break, its still contained within the zip lock.

PS it also works well if you are bringing home bottles of liquor, they can be put in your suitcase with clothes.

  3. Should mean port side for our trip.

    :)

    Robin,

I hope so! we booked a balcony portside thinking it docks on the portside every time ,we wanted the view of Bermuda from our balcony. See you at the M&G on the 7th .

  4. Yes glasses of wine up to $10 were included, as my wife enjoyed a few glasses with dinner every night. I drank bottled beer, Miller light, and Bud light lime when it was beer time. Not sure about the beers on tap though.

I drink Vodka and tonic quite a bit, and Grey Goose, Absolute, and Kettle One were all included in the package.

The bartenders make the drinks really strong, but they are kind of small. When you are sitting around the pool, and it is hot, you can go through quite a few drinks, which without the package would add up quickly.

If you are mainly a beer drinker, it might not be worth it. The beers are 16oz aluminum bottles, and the buckets come with buy 5 get one free.

Thanks rapidturtle we plan to buy several bottles of wine through the vivo vino program which we both drink primarily at night. On CCL cruises it was good to switch off to a draft beer which came in a larger glass than the bottled beers, cheers!

  5. Wifi on the breakaway is far fasted then any cellular data you can use and far less expensive. Cellular data is $.025 a kilobyte or $25 a megabyte. The $100 250 minute package will let you use 100s of megabytes that would cost you $1000s on cellular.

What areas of the ship is best for Wi-Fi, does NCL state where they are?

  6. Have a look a women's Seiko watches on Amazon. Not really what would be considered expensive (I just got a terrific buy on Amazon on a Timex chronograph for $40. so I'm not a watch snob) but they are good value and are good watches:

Thank you cruise pup we will look at them before we leave.

  7. What brand ? What one calls expensive is not expensive to some

I usually buy a Citizen Ecodrive on cruises and they are 40% cheaper plus tax than at home ESPECIALLY on new models!! one may be able to find old models from past years cheaper but I have always gotten great deals myself

    mikel24m,

Thanks for your reply... probably a nice Seiko watch...we don`t know that much about watches..
