  1. We are planning on going to Hell during our visit to Grand Cayman next month. We are taking the bus and I have a few questions.

    1. On average, about how long does it take from the pier to Hell?

    2. How often does the bus come by to pick us up?

    3. If we decide to take a cab back.....how much does it cost and how would we get one?

    4. Is there a beach near Hell, where we can walk to and hang out and go swimming for a bit?

    5. I thought I read somewhere that there is a bar at Hell, is there?

Thanks! Any info would be great!

There is no bar at Hell and I don't believe there is a walkable beach either. Hell is cool the first time you go.

  2. I know several taxi drivers from Curacao

So even though my friend who was there recently informed me<

I contact some of them myself to KNOW THE TAXI RATES

    :)

SO GUYS DON'T LET NOBODY MISINFORM YOU.

So what are the correct taxi rates if you don't mind telling us

  3. Hi there! We will be in Curacao in April, and we are in port from 8am to 9pm, so we were considering this tour as well. I requested the tour info from Irie, and here is what I got back last week:

How many of you want to join us? We can do the Beach Hopping tour to the West side of the Island with a minimum of 6 people. This tour is $65 per person and includes Beer, Soft drinks, water, the entrance fee at the beaches and the entrance fee at Boka Tabla, which is a park with 7 caves.

If you don’t have 6 people, you can do the East Side Tour. I will give you a short tour description…

First we drive over the Juliana Bridge, where you will have a great view of Willemstad. Then we pass through the old Jewish neighborhood, you will see all the old Jewish Mansions that are being restored. We also visit the Curacao Liquor distillery, here you can see how the ‘Blue Curacao’ is made and taste the different flavors. After the distillery we go to the Spanish water area, which is a beautiful residential area in the Spanish Water Bay. The last stop will be at the Curacao Sea Aquarium Beach, we stay here for 1 hour.

This tour is $20 per person and includes unlimited beer, soft drinks and bottled water during the tour AND the entrance fee to the beach.

Since we don't have 6 people in our group and the Roll Call is pretty much dead for our sailing (it's a Colon sailing), I guess we will be taking the East Side tour. I hope you have better luck :)

They don't actually make the Curacao liquer there, you can see a short film and sample the flavors and buy it there.

  4. We are trying to decide between two walking tours in Curacao but I'm not sure which offers the best sight-seeing. I would love advice from anyone who has visited here before. Which would you choose?

One visits Kura Hulanda Museum, Kura Holanda Hotel, Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge, and Fort Amsterdam. It is about two hours and 15 minutes and $30 p.p. This one offers a ride back to the ship or the option to stay in town and look around (leaving you with the responsibility to return to the ship.)

The other visits Fort Amsterdam, the former residential neighborhood of Scharloo and the famous “wedding cake house”, and Pietermaai Cathedral. It is an hour and 45 minutes and $38 p.p. You have the option to ride back to the ship or stay in town to look around (leaving you with the responsibility to return to the ship.)

If we choose to stay in town, is it possible to walk back to the ship? Would we be better off taking a cab?

Truthfully, I wouldn't pay for either. You can walk on your own to the museum and then walk around the hotel grounds. The fort is across the pontoon bridge to the right. When you are done walk back across the bridge to your ship.
