I've also been on both, much prefer Epic, especially with kids that age, just for the pool area alone! The Pearl pool is VERY small, was originally intended to be an Alaskan boat. Your kids will appreciate the Epic. Mine loved it.

Depends on timing too. I booked the Getaway midship balcony (BA) for Spring Break in mid March and we paid $950 each with $150 OBC. We booked it back in September also, so I think your price is very good if it's during high season. I know the Allure is more than that for Spring Break BA balcony.

Nice review! That really really sucks what happened to your brother, I can't even imagine. I'm surprised they couldn't get him on, how did they get home without identification?
I agree with you that while the food isn't amazing, the fact that you don't have to cook and clean makes it taste all the better!! Also, my husband and I have both agreed the food is better in NCL than on RCCL. You and your husband sound like us, all about the wine, beer, and martini tastings! Lol Have you done the pub crawl on any of the boats? I think we will try it on the next one we go on.
Did your kids like kids' club? We can never get our kids (10 and 12) out of there!

Yes you can book the shows and dinners 45 days ahead of departure. 55 days ahead if you are in the Haven but you have to call the concierge to do that. I'm book into 4 specialty dining restaurants, Illusionarium and Legally Blonde and the Wine lunch for my February 8th cruise.
What is the "wine lunch"? Never seen anything on here about that, sounds right up my alley!

Walk around the ship and a grab a drink while we pass through the pool area
Same exact thing!

So far, awesome review girl!! You sure do take a lot of pictures! :) I'll be on the Liberty next week, so I'm looking forward to reading the rest. You girls sound like a hoot!
Oh, and I live in South Florida, and visit Blue Martini a lot. What a fun place!

The Sky is a great boat for a weekend getaway. I have no idea about the kids club, but I will tell you it is very small.
I think if you're going you need to do Atlantis. It is so much fun. The kids will love it. IMO it's worth the ridiculous cost.
