  1. You heard correct. They do use very hot water. I would be VERY cautious about sending your laundry out to be done. We had a few things get trashed, shrink etc. Have heard of others having problems as well over the years.
There are self service laundry areas on the Royal. Check out the deck plans on princess, but I believe they are all towards the aft, starting on deck 8.

  2. And here I always thought Chumley was Tennessee Tuxedo's side kick. Yeah, I know, bad pun!(old post, too)
Since this is 2017 and 2016 was a year ago, isn't it a little late to be asking?

  3. Not sure on the Coral on your sailing but have always seen curry dishes on some lunch and dinner at the buffet on all ships we have sailed, including the CB recently where we had an Indian Executive Chef.

  4. Tell me what type of musical entertainment can we expect on the ship? Doing the Nov 12, 2017 Panama Canal sailing. We've mainly done Carnival. As 70+ we'd love some mellow music mixed in with jazz and oldies but goodies and Island music. Tell us what you've experienced.

Hi, honestly, it changes. However, the is usually a small band or two around the lido deck. A pianist on deck 6, pominard, a string quartet deck 5 for part of the time and a singer with a 3-4 piece back-up part of the time. Of course, nothing is written in stone. Then, the main shows in the princess theatre. This a partial or full transit?

  5. I like how some who just post their opinion and experiences on something are being accused of "pushing an agenda" of some sort or the other. That accusation always seems to come from the other side of the discussion. Guess only one side is able to "push an agenda" while the other is just discussing the subject at hand.
As a WSP this type of shirt is what I wear 90% of the time. I have white, black, two different shades of blue, orange, and lime green. Since I am a big guy, they can ride up when I reach, so I have matching t-shirts.

  6. Anyone know if Princess allows small electric fans (8"-10") in cabins? Haven't seen any info on this. Thanks in advance.
I pack one in my checked luggage.

  7. Will be sailing on the Regal in a little over a week and will be doing laundry onboard. Do the passenger self laundries use tokens or quarters? Thanks
I was on the Regal twice last year. Machines use tokens dispensed from a machine in the laundry area. You do need to swipe your card to obtain the tokens for machines and detergents. I believe all the self service areas are at the stern (aft) of the ship, around cabin 622. The lowest deck with the laundromat is Emerald, deck 8. Deck plans for each ship are available at Princess.com.

  8. Far be it from me to give any medical advice, but I can at least make a suggestion about which you might ask your doctor. I have a feeling that the Vitamin K vs Warfarin (Coumadin) controversy may be similar to the one about grapefruit vs cholesterol medications. You know--don't eat grapefruit if you take statins because they interfere with the meds. Turns out that it is upside down--eating grapefruit actually enhances the efficacy of statins.

However, what I have found about broccoli is this:

You still can have foods that have vitamin K, but you must keep the amount you eat about the same from week to week. If you want broccoli or other greens, you still can have them. For example, you might want to have about a ½ cup © two times each week. Consistency is the important thing, not the amount, so the vitamin K in your blood stays about the same.

This from "Nutrition 411". And by the way, their list of veggies Very High on vitamin K, a list of 14 vegetables, does not include broccoli; broccoli is listed in a secondary list termed High, not Very High. This is just informational--follow your doctor's advice, of course.

Thanks. But I already knew that and take it into consideration. If I have to limit things, there are priorities on the list. Some of the green leafy stuff after not very high on the list. Lol.

  9. Obviously not if you are not eating the liver, kidney and so on. You carry on 'enjoying' all the parts that taste of nothing and are of dubious nutritional value.

  10. It's really a socialization process now. Offal feel it off favor when big meat suppliers in the 18th century found it too expensive to store, compared to regular meat. I never grew up with it, except for steamed or fried whole clams. My mother did try liver with me (60 years ago), but I actually found the taste not to my liking. Back in 1963, on the SS Oriana, one table mate liked braised lamb brains. Couldn't watch her eat it.

  11. If you travel a lot, consider an annual policy. I use Global Travel, under written by AIG. It's about $510 for the year, for the two of us. Covers everything from medical to transportation. Check them out.
