  1. Hi. I have been in a minisuite near that room. You will Definitely hear lounge chairs being stacked, dragged and rearranged around 8pm every night and around 6am every morning. Other than those times and the during the day walking or dragging chairs from above it really is a great location to get to the pool deck and the buffet. It will not be easy to change rooms once on the ship. If you want to make the change, call and make it today. Good luck.

  2. The second bedroom is suitable for 3. The bottom bed turns into a full size sleeper sofa (for 2 average sized teens). The 11 year old can sleep in the bunk in the 2nd bedroom and the largest teen can sleep in the pull out in the living room. This pic shows the room set up for 2 kids only, but the bottom bed becomes larger if needed. (Which they will set up for you) the other pic is the sofa in the living room that pulls out into a twin size sleeper. 3. My family is cruising for the first time in a suite. I'm trying to figure out the "proper" amount to tip the butler and concierge (providing , of course, I'm happy with the service we receive). So, as a baseline, for a family of four at $10 per day, per person, that comes to $280. I'm assuming that is for the butler and then I guess half of that for the concierge? Does that sound right?

Yes that is exactly what I give from my family of 4 when the service is excellent.

    :)

  4. Hi there

Im new here , and me and my family are going on getaway 2016 . We were wondering if any of you have triede Carlos Bakery , and if so .. do you think it is possible to order a cake there to a birthday ??

    From Mette in Denmark

Hi Mette. Yes you can order a cake before your sailing. There are about 10 different options on NCL.com. You can choose the exact day you want it delivered to your cabin. Some cakes can be written on and some cannot.

The cake tastes good but not great!

    Enjoy

  5. And he has to wait 2 hours to sign himself out?

Wow you really are being a "Glass half empty" type of person.

Yes he has to wait the ENTIRE 2 hours during which time the counselors will be shoving bamboo under his fingernails.

  6. That is really disappointing. I'm starting to rethink NCL. Ridiculous. At least Disney has a tween program for kids 11-13. I can't see my almost 13 year old hanging out with the 10 year olds. And I have heard that they mix them with the even younger group.

This must be why NCL gets such bad reviews for the kids clubs.

Have him go to the club with an open mind.

My daughter will be 13 in May and we sail in 2 weeks from today.

She too will be in the 10-12 group. There will be plenty of other 7th graders for her to connect with. (as there always are)

Her last cruise she made a great group of friends and they all went for sushi together on the last Sea Day.

Your son can go to his Group and his friend can go to the other group. They can both meet a nice mix of other boys around their age. They usually all agree to meet at the sports court at a certain time to play ball or hang out.

Again, you need to tell them both to go the first night and have an open mind.:)

Your 12 year old can sign himself out after the first 2 hours if he chooses.

The Kids Club on NCL is excellent as per my children. They have also done Disney and prefer NCL.

  7. I don't think NCL links your cruise critic user name with reservation. So asking here won't help. How about trying to call them?

Additionally you are on one of the busiest cruises of the entire year.

Good luck and I hope you get it.

  8. Hi. It's $5.00 per person to and from the Pier to Atlantis. It will be a shuttle van that fits about 10 people. You will wait until the van fills up. It is very easy both ways as those vans are lined up at the pier and also at Atlantis. Enjoy.

  9. And I think you hit the nail on the head. He already had the booking. Now he was out to get more bookings. Yes, the excuse was crappy. Thank you.

    Harriet

    Hi Harriet,

What I do for family is I book them with my PCC at CAS. I do all the phone calling involved. (Almost like a travel agent would) They give me their credit card and I book them that way.

You can call your PCC and ask to speak with the supervisor to see if anything can be done, perhaps your nephew will change his mind if the supervisor throws something extra in.

My PCC at CAS (a male whose name starts with the letter "J") made an error on my booking once, then connected me with a supervisor to resolve it.

The supervisor resolved it plus added a nice gift for us.

I hope it gets positively resolved as I am sure they would enjoy NCL the second time around.

  10. Yes they do on the Gem and JeweI. Cannot speak for the Breakaway Epic or Getaway. I have ordered LaCucina to go and Cagneys to go when traveling with my parents who love eating on their balcony. Trays are not provided but the plates had clear covers to keep the meal warm. I needed my husband to help carry the dishes to their room. Also many many people get Buffalo wings to bring back to their room in the middle of the night!!! Enjoy.
