  1. I sang in the Pop Choir for the first time on the Royal TA. We practiced in Club 6 usually on sea day afternoons, and our performance was in the Piazza on the next to the last sea day (I think) to a packed house. We sang a variety of music including the famous Rockin Royals song written just for this cruise. It was so much fun, and Stephanie, our choir director, was great. Most of the songs were already mentioned but a few others were Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles, and We are the Champions. Sweet Caroline was our encore. We had a big group of choir members, many of whom were on the CC roll call. Give it a try if you like to sing.

And wasn't it fun! I probably would never had volunteered to be in the choir if it wasn't for the Rockin' Royals song. So glad I did! Our group was great and so was our audience! I wouldn't hesitate to do it again! BTW, one other song we sang was Hit the Road Jack. :p

  3. I don't think sexist remarks have any merit in this conversation. Even if the rule was made by a man, it's interesting that the person mentioned as enforcing it in the original post is a woman.

I'm with Pam...use the privacy tag. It's simple to do. If the ability to get past the deadbolt saves one life, it's worth the rest of you being embarrassed. And if you're suggesting that you avoid entry with wedges or security bars, you might want to think twice about what might happen to you in an emergency.

    Completely agree!

  4. In regards to the winemakers dinner, I am correct assume the menu changes daily & they have advance menus to choose the day you reserve? Also is the wine additional?.

We did the winemaker's dinner and I think it was the best specialty dining option Princess offers. I believe there are 3 different menus but I'm only remembering what someone else said. When we called for a reservation (and you will have to do it immediately to get in), we were told what the menu was. Wine is included in the $40 pp charge and that cost is likely to go up quickly. You won't regret participating in this wonderful event. We were really lucky. One of the waiters came in and sang 3 Italian songs for us. What a treat! :p

  5. Zumba is great at center court.....tight in Princess Live. Last day on the TA...all three instructors came for the final Zumba. It was fantastic. Alice

Alice, wasn't that fun. Zumba was great on the Royal. They really worked our butts off. It wasn't like this at all on other ships where I've participated in Zumba. To not gain any weight on an 18 day cruise is a real compliment to the Zumba instructors! :p:p Not to mention dragging myself up the stairs!

  6. Agree! We ate at the HC almost every day for lunch and always found something to like (cioppino, chili, salads of all stripes, the Tex Mex grill etc) and always enjoyed eating out on the Outrigger at the back of the ship. I also enjoyed the pizza. The whole HC layout is a big winner in my opinion. The wine and food pairing was a bargain as compared to the Chef's table and terrific. The Elite-Platinum cocktail hour was a disappointment as it felt to me like a cafeteria table was set up at the stage of a high school auditorium, not to mention any place with "vista" as part of the name should have; oh, I don't know...a vista or some windows or some kind of view! I really missed Skywalkers and as a result only went twice. Ken

Ken, agree 100% with your observations. I also really missed Skywalkers and hated the Vista.

  7. In my opinion, Anytime Dining is the only way to go! On our last cruise we ate with friends some nights, asked for a table to share some nights, and ate at the HC on other nights. We even had room service one night after a long, exhausting tour. It's so nice to be able to dine when and where you want. We also had dinner and lunch at Alfredo's a few times. Great menu! Enjoy your new choices! :p

  8. I've been on the Grand several times and always had night stands in cabin. Who would ever think that some of the cabins wouldn't have these. This is the first time I've heard of this. The cabin in the picture looks like something from an army barrack! Yuck!

  9. We did the Wine Cellar dinner last night. The food was great, the other 10 guests were simply fabulous. We really had a wonderful evening. The wine flowed. We started with champagne and then moved to a French Chardonnay. The main course, Steak Diane, was made table side and accompanied by a Fench Pinot Noir. We were treated to several after dinner glasses of Lemoncello.

There are three different menus for this dinner so we are planning to do it again next cruise.

    Cheers, Denise

We did this on the TA cruise. I think this is the best dinner venue Princess has to offer. We had a fabulous time. For $40 pp it was so worth it. We also had a group of 12 and didn't know any of the others. What a great group of people. I highly recommend this and I like it better than the Chef's Table! I'm sure it won't be long before the price increases. :p

Wow what a beautiful ship! It's incredible, from the glorious luncheon buffet to the IC, there is quite a spread for everybody. The showers are definitely larger, I can shave my legs in it, yay. The room is awesome, huge TV and now you can pick what you want to watch when you want it. It is simply fabulous here and we are thrilled with it completely.

Ok a few problems so far, toilet doesn't flush all the time and it took a day to get it fixed. Main dining room is claustrophobic for me, not open and spacious, instead it has lots of cave like cubbies with benches rather than chairs. We left Allegro for one one of the anytime dining rooms and hope they are more open concept, will report back after tonight.

Gotta go, I can see Fabrizio waiting for me because we are in Livorno yippee...
