What are your recommendations ,favorites or suggested selection course by course at Chops Grille.

Why is that so many people seem hell bent on gaining access to loyalty events that non qualified friends are not entitled. Participation in these events is a reward to loyal cruisers and has been earnt with repeat voyages.
The same people trying to gain an advantage they are not entitled to would be the first to complain if any existing benefits are reduced due to abuse of rules applying to access.

Cannot help with the pricing but the allowances per person are 50 cigarettes or 50 grams of tobacco. Alcohol allowance is 2.25 ltrs per person.

It just went up $11 per day per person on Australia Day for the Premium package which we were deciding on, probably not worth it now, $70 for drinks per day pfttt which adds another $100 each. Havnt done RCI :( :(
In real terms the package increased by approximately one drink a day or about 8 percent taking the fact that gratituites are included in the price. Considering the drop in value of the A$ (around 20 percent) I think it is fair increase. Only you can assess the value of the package now, if you are going to consume more than 6 or 7 drinks a day EVERY day it may not be viable.

Apart from possibly the odd day here and there, the taxis have always been available outside the terminal where they normally were pre upgrade and as the terminal is about to be "handed over" on the 14th February the "extended" taxi rank will also be working.
Graham, thanks for your insiders commentary on the long overdue upgrade to the OPT. What percentage of the redevolopment does the February " handover" represent?

Noticed on another thread (Vision Cruise review) that a cooler bag of beer in ice was available. Is that a fleet wide offer or just on Vision?

We will be on the Sun Princess Australia /New Zealand in February 2015. My understanding is that currency on board is the Australian Dollar. Will we need Australian Dollars to play in the casino on board?

I am sure that you will enjoy your time on Sun Princess and the fantastic cruise you are about to embark on. Good luck in the casino and look at the positives, with the current exchange rate you have already had a win!!!:D

Last visited these Fijian ports in 1986 aboard SS Canberra visiting March aboard Rhapsody with family group of 7 (aged 71-12). Have any fellow CCer's suggest any shore excursions they may have experienced or heard that are worthwhile. The available shipboard excursions are limited and are predictably expensive. Is it worth hiring a mini bus?

Our last three cruises have been P&O, in fact our first cruise was on SS Canberra. Our next is on RCI, if P&O believe that this type of advertising will appeal to the majority of the potential market and it's on board experiences I will not br any threat to their loyalty programs.

We are thinking of doing PNG this November, have been on Pacific Dawn not Sea Princess but have been on Diamond Princess, my question both similar timing, similar itineries, similar pricing, can't decide which ship though it will be our 40th wedding anniversary, any advice greatly appreciated.:D
Have not sailed on Princess for three years, but have sailed on P&O twice since' For mine it would be Princess based on the overall ambience of the ship, the variety and availability of food and the quality of service also I found the entertainment to be very on all ships so maybe i was lucky. Princess just seem to have the little touches to make it a more special experience. Either way I am sure you will enjoy your cruise.

Princess has announced AUD onboard. Royal Caribbean hasn't.
Aussie dollars and no tipping only on Princess ships based in Australia Sun,Sea and Dawn. All other like Diamond Princess currently sailing from Aust and NZ are $US.

Yes, will not be a problem In fact the terminal upgrade is scheduled to be completed by 14 th February ( except for the existing top floor upgrade which will be done in the winter off season) but all will be good. As I said originally, any problems ask for Susie and tell her Benjo said it was OK.What time are you planning on checking in?
Thanks for that, we are looking at around noon. Once again thank you for your assistance and sense of humour
-
Yes. As Wotaripper has said, if all your party go to the appropriate line together there will be no problem going through as a group at any time you choose. ( Any hassles, ask for Susie and tell her Benjo said it was OK:) ) Things will/should/hope be a lot easier by March when you leave, as the renovations will be a lot closer to completion by then.
Our cruise is fast approaching. Will the above still be possible. With thanks in anticipation.

Which part of Australia do you people live in? Not South Australia I'm thinking.
Struts love, when I lived in Adelade in thr 70'S every second bloke and shiela spoke like all my cobbers on these posts particularly on the beach over from the Seacliff Pub.. So spit the silver spoon ,put on your glad rags and hit the pier with the in crowd.:

Thank you all for your help just one more question, how much would be appropriate for the Barstaff and Concierge in the CL?
-
Many of them lurk in our local councils too! :D Sometimes they go in as normal people with the best of intentions, but somehow they become "councilised" Happens to some staff too. :)
Nah just in training hoping to be called up to first grade.;)

What is the alcohol % of your light beer and full strength. Our Australian light ranges from 2.7% to 3.5% and full strength from 4.7% to 8.6%. I know that beer is very much a variable but which beer is recommended by some of the very knowledge posters on CC. We are about to sail on Rhapsody so will certainly test drive some of your recommendations and will post a review and comparison if asked.;):D

We are about to cruise for the first time on a non Australian cruise ship and are a little concerned about the correct etiquette of tipping. On Australian based ships tipping is not expected as it is included in the fare. We have pre paid our gratuities but are unsure as to what we should do as far as what is correct, expected, sensible or perhaps recommended to secure that little extra service to make our cruise even more memorable. Tipping is not a part of our culture so can anyone help this inexperienced Aussie in relation to appropriate amounts and to whom, concierge, bar staff etc?
-
Cruising on Rhapsody in March, this will be our first cruise on a non Australian based ship where gratuities are included in the fare and bar pricing. My question is are the gratuities charged on the number of days or nights the cruise is.

Have been wondering if coffee and tea making facilities are provided in a grand suites. DW loves an early coffee .

Sailing on Rhapsody of the Seas soon in a Grand Suite for the first time. Could any recent cruisers advise of any "special events for Suite guests". On the RCI site there is considerable comment on what is and is not held and varies greatly from ship to ship. Interested to know what we may experience on board in the Australian season.

Sailing on Rhapsody in a GS for the first time soon can we expect any special treatment.

Could any fellow cruisers advise when set sail pass and luggage tags are available to print on Royal Caribbean ex Australian ports?
-
Is they're a standard length of each rotation or does it vary.
