I work for the cruise lines part time in the summer at the dock. We have had to turn away passengers because they didn't have the right documents to visit a foreign country. It is not up to the ship to deny you on board - it is a requirement of the country.

We have traveled extensively and always just applied for the visas myself. With India I used a service as the application is not always clear and they are extremely particular.

We are sailing in a few days on Holland America's Rotterdam out of Singapore, Does anyone know if you can board the ship without purchasing the India visa and NOT get off the ship when it gets to Port in Mumbai?

No. It is not possible to board without an Indian visa. We wanted to take this cruise but could not get a visa in time. Hope it works for you

Yes, we saw those prices & wanted to go but the g/f has no more vacation time so we have to pass on those great rates. We usually do balconies but for a great rate of $199pp inside, we would do the inside for 5 days & do the balconies for longer voyages.

Were those prices on Princess web site or other web site?

We booked a repo cruise from Vancouver to LA in October - balcony cabin for $400. Totally thrilled as it includes transportation from LA back to Seattle. Can't stay home for that.

My husband and I are looking to go on our 1st river cruise next summer. Not sure which is the better one. Have narrowed it down to Viking, AMA Waterways or Scenic cruises.

We know we want to do the Danube.

Another option you might want to explore is Grand Circle Travel. They have excellent value for the money and the cruises we have taken with them were very enjoyable.

We had our first aft balcony cabin on our last cruise and loved it!! Wonderful to sit on the balcony when you are sailing out of a port Of course, we got upgraded to a suite, so there just wasn't anything not to love.

We reserved our clamshells on line before the cruise on HAL. Hope they work out.

Would someone give me a general idea of what I should expect to pay for a 3 hour tour? I do realize that it could change, but am just trying to figure out our budget. Thanks Much

Where are the clamshells located? What is your favorite thing to do there (other than the required beach time)?

This will be our first time to stop at the island. I am not clear on what the clamshell is. I thought that it would be a clamshell propped open, but it seems that it gets hot and needs to be propped open. Now I have this strange vision of a closed clam shell you crawl in. Help

It was the same price as on the ship and can be booked on the ship or once you get to HMC there is an excursion hut where it can be booked. They will love it! We have a massage therapy school here so we get student massages for $20/hr so it is really hard to book one on the cruise but did do the couples massage.

Are you saying that we can book a student massage for $20 on HMC?
