I have some reusable straws that fold up nicely in a little carrying case. I can't remember where I bought them but I'm sure if you search on line you'll find some. I personally cannot stand the paper straws as they all get soft and I think alter the flavor of whatever you're drinking! If I can find the link to where I bought them, I'll post.
I found the website. www.GIR.co

Just received my updated booking for the August 27 cruise on the Millennium. No word from TA but when on my Celebrity account page, voila, it appeared! Same cabin. So relieved.

I know - I have a hump cabin and it concerns me that the sailings are open for bookings on the website. Hopefully they have already blocked out those being transferred! I have a TA which is a large online one (you can take a guess) and they are basically providing almost no service at all to help us through this. I'll be happy in most any cabin at this point, but would be disappointed to lose that nice location!
I have a TA I've used and he's always there to help. He said that he had no way to expedite the change. I just needed to be patient. I'm trying.

I have a September sailing - still waiting. I just hope we can keep the same, nice cabin we had before!
Phoenix, that's my worry as well. I have read that some had their cabins changed, not category, but location. Got my fingers crossed that it happens soon.

It's been 2 weeks since Millennium replaced Summit sailings to Alaska. We're fully paid for the August 27 sailing and STILL no confirmation from Celebrity that my reservation has been transferred. We did use a TA, who called and Celebrity said be patient, it might take 2 weeks...... Anyone else still waiting for confirmation?
-
Sorry for the alarmist topic headline. I just received confirmation from my TA that all is ok. We are now being booked on the Millennium for our Alaska cruise August 27, 2021. Whew!

I just called Celebrity and because I booked through a travel agent she wouldn't give me ANY information! I have reached out via email to him but have yet to hear back. I'm hoping that because I didn't book directly through Celebrity that is why I haven't heard anything.

I have not received anything from Celebrity. My upcoming cruise page says I will receive a refund and cruise credit. I'm hoping you're right and this is just a blip. I'll keep you posted.

I just went on line to view my upcoming Alaska cruise on Summit, August 27 and in my "upcoming cruise" page, it said it was cancelled! Anyone else experience this?

Just got off the Edge. The Celebrity app does support texting without paying for connection to internet. It worked great! You will need (as of this writing) the Last name, birthdate and room number of at least one person in the cabin. Once you input that info, it will populate your screen with all persons in that cabin. You will then invite to connect. Once they respond you can start texting! On board, I was told that the final version they are working on will only require a last name, first name. I do know that it is not on all ships yet but they are working on it!
-
I was wondering, after looking through the App, where does it say message? And if not message, how does one know how to use it to message a fellow passenger?

Are there any places on the ship that are "hot spots"? Thinking of using WhatsApp to contact friends on board.
-
We have the unlimited internet package included for one device. I am bringing my computer. Does someone know if I can also use my phone to text people that are on board the Edge with us or is my phone considered a 2nd device? Thanks for your responses in advance.
-
Didn't even think of that! Thank you!

Thank you! Nice to know they've thought of this! So looking forward to our cruise.

We are sailing on the Edge this Sunday. My DH uses a C-Pap machine that is set bedside. Is there an outlet bedside? If not, any suggestions on where and how to plug it in.
Thank you in advance!

Our assigned check in time for our upcoming Edge cruise is 1-1:30. When I pull up the main information page on-line it says to arrive no less than 2 hours before your assigned boarding time. Does that mean we have to arrive no later than 11 a.m.? Then sit around and wait until 1 to check-in and board? Please clarify this for me those of you who have already experienced the boarding process. Thank you in advance.

Booked Sunset Verandah, deck 10 for March 3 sailing. Don't care about the itinerary but the ship looks amazing!

I am just back from the same cruise. I am in agreement with most of what Taxman has stated. His comments about lack of activities was spot on. This is the first SS cruise where I was BORED! Same activities every day and none of them, with the exception of the Liar's Club which happened to be added because we had to miss our stop in Grand Turk due to high seas, were out of the ordinary (Bingo, Trivia, Bridge, lectures) Even the cooking demos didn't happen until we were forced to skip two planned ports! No music by the pool, Panorama Lounge never got going (DJ played the same songs every night. Abba and Tom Jones are not my idea of current good dance music! This cruise seemed to have a lot of sedentary senior citizens. If you talked while in the Lounge you were asked to be quiet so they could hear the piano player! It's a bar people! There were little things missing like "Death by Chocolate", drinks of the day being offered poolside, Caribbean music on deck. There was so much "quiet" all over the ship, it felt like a floating library!
Maybe because it was a Ft. Lauderdale round trip was the reason the average age was up! I will say this, if SS does not start offering activities that appeal to the younger baby boomers and those even younger, they will miss a huge opportunity to perpetuate their product. My husband and I are in our early 60's and we live a very active lifestyle as do most of our friends. There were quite a few of this age group on board and the ones I spoke with felt the same as we do. The excursions were OK but on board not much to choose from.
Agree that the suites are a little dinged up and there is a definite shortage of outlets. Our butler found me a power strip that accommodated all my chargers. Hopefully when they bring the Spirit in for a refurb they can address this issue. Our butler, Edmundo, was awesome! He did anticipate my routine, the biggest was every morning I woke up to find the puzzles of the day in my mail slot! Coffee in the morning and chips and salsa in the afternoon. I guess it all depends on who you get!
Loved the Grill, only ate at Seishin for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it! Sushi and Sashimi was all they serve but it was fresh, delicious and presented beautifully. MDR was hit or miss although I will say that the BEST meal we had was in the MDR. The fish of the evening was Branzino and everyone at our table ordered it. It was superb! I liked LaTerraza, but felt the service was hit or miss and usually very slow. LeChampagne was also outstanding. Beautifully prepared food and service was impeccable. The breakfast and lunch buffets were fresh and plentiful. I always found something delicious. Loved the pizza!
Would I sail SS again. Most definitely but I do think we will try another, like Seabourne first!

Trippvera we are also on this cruise on deck 9. The only lines that are long happen at dinner, in the MDR. I believe this new "check in" policy needing your room number before seating you is what is causing the delay in getting seated. I remember not too long ago all you did was show up when you wanted to dine and tell them how many people would be at your table and they seated you! My husband has a shrimp allergy and now the waiters are made aware of it without asking you. I also find they use this check in procedure to be able to identify you by name. IMHO not necessary. We've avoided the lines by eating a little bit later than 7 p.m. or in an alternative restaurant with reservations. It's been a lovely, smooth trip so far. The staff are very efficient and nice. The food has been Outstanding to so-so with most meals being very good. Life is good!

If you go to MySilversea and pull up your cruise you will find it when you click on Shore/Dining/Spa. You will see which days are formal. Hope this helps.

Hi All,
Have been on line looking at parking options for our upcoming cruise on the Spirit out of Port Everglades. Does anyone have any suggestions for a safe, off-site parking lot that has reliable shuttle service from lot to Pier 21 and back? On site is more than I'd like to pay but will if there are not any suitable alternatives. We have to be picked up in a timely manner on our return as husband has a flight out of RSW (Fort Myers) at 3:40.

Looks like only 6 people have posted they are on this cruise! Would love to get enough folks together for a Meet and Mingle. Anyone else want to participate? It's always fun to meet others who roam these boards. BTW, I'm the only one signed up for the Meet and Mingle!
