AF2018 worked for me on Wednesday 18th January 2023.

It did not work when I copied and pasted the code but it did work when I typed the code in, using capital letters. I got 10% off.

Thanks Bloodgem, type it in with capitals and got the discount,

    Hello,

Not only that but there are no USB charging sockets beside the main power sockets on the vanity unit either. I spent a frustrating 10 minutes trying to get my USB plug to engage with what turned on to be a telephone socket!

If there are no USB ports hidden elsewhere in the balcony staterooms then the Silhouette is something out of the dark ages.

    Regards,

    Cublet

Thanks for clearing that up. So glad i dug out the travel plugs anyway.

Shame on the usbs but silhouette is a older ship i believe. Never sailed celebrity before and the last 3 princess ships we have been on were all new /newish ships.

  3. I was on the same cruise as the other 2 reviews that got off in the 5th and i will be pisting my observations shortly. Mine are different to the others and not so negative, ive just not had much time to sit and write it yet.

I will try and do so in the next couple of days.

  4. Just getting off this morning so I can  confirm it was a helicopter medi evacuation. Around 11.30am ish yesterday the medical team were called to a cabin on I think on riviera deck. About 1.5 hours later commodore Nash informed us that we needed to alter cause to get closer to the nearest point for a helicopter to collect a passenger. Hence the turnabout in direction. They cleared 4 decks of rear cabins as well as the buffet and rear pool area. The helicopter was hovering we assume for about 45 mins before it finally left and the ship was free to resume our planned route.

Another of us on board are hoping that he or she is OK in what ever hospital they were taken to.

We're happy to hear about the self service buffet. Hope it stays that way. 😃

    Thanks.

Personally I would have preferred them to have continued with food being served to you by a server a little longer Now it's back to the old way you don't know who's touched the lid or tongs before you. I am carrying a small bottle of hand gel to give us a quick squirt before eating.

Anything good, bad, indifferent to report back about Enchanted? Are they serving Afternoon Tea in the MDR? Is the buffet self-service - can’t remember if it’s changed from the waitstaff serving? Hoping you’re having a great cruise.

I'm hoping to do   post of my observations when I get a chance. But to answer those questions. Yes the are doing afternoon tea.  Yes the buffet is back to self service, which we are finding a little un nerving. She's a beautiful ship and yes we are enjoying it so far.

  7. We are on board enchanted right now and so far there is nothing really new being shown. Also in the past what ever film was bring shown on muts was only on the TV the following day. That seems to have changed as they are there from the start of the cruise. Today's were Luca this morning and west side story tonight. Yesterday I think it was Ford v ferrari.

Commodore Nash emphasized that safety is Princess Cruises highest priority. For myself, I enjoyed the day of scenic cruising.  Capturing the Loveboat theme playing in the background and viewing the waterfall was preferable to walking around a quiet town on a Sunday.

I have to totally agree with billco. It's been a lovely alternative day to being on shore. This is our third Norwegian cruise and not been to Haugesand before. But we love sailing the fjords so we don't mind missing the port.

  9. We were awoken by the 1st message in the cabin. We had no plan accept to get off and go for a walk about. Plus being a Sunday somethings wouldn't be open. Don't mind sailing the fjords as they are pretty. Hope everyone who had private tours are able to get them refunded......

    I've just

I've just looked looked online and mine is units of £19, £38, or £76, but it doesn't actually say what I am buying. Does it show up in the travel summary after purchase?

I wonder if they fix the rate at the time you book or does it go up and down. anyway that still is better than todays exchange rate. for me at £76 to $100 that is $1.31 to £1 compared to $1.19 to £1. So unless the rate goes up pre cruise you are getting a goods deal at £72 to $100 = $1.38 to £1.

The rate is fixed and will not change. You could buy the credits now and again in 3 weeks and the rate will be the same.

  11. For our 1st cruise back in 2010 we uploaded quite a bit of bought OBC to use on board. My understanding back then was they allocated a set exchange rate for each cruise. Back then it was almost 2 to 1 a really good exchange rate and way better than the banks and card rates. The next 2 cruises we did the same but by then the rates were not so good. However we have not bothered for years to buy anymore. We now don't find it worth it as we are not big drinkers and big spenders so only have small bills at the end. Plus as we now book with a future deposit we get a small amount of OBC to boot. Post pandemic we have cruised on a princess plus fare, so drinks and tips are included. That being so the bills at the end have been even smaller. In fact last year on the Sky we ended up with credit to be refunded.

My advise is if you like not having a bill at the end keep the credit which will be $400 worth.

  12. Our roll call is very busy 46 followers on the thread which has 1032 posts, over 43 pages. Someone set up a website for research etc and that lists 62 couple signed up.

Which compared to my other roll call on the Celebrity Silhouette which is 2 pages long and 27  posts it seems to me to be hit and miss.

The enchanted R.C. may be setting up a meeting but i'm not sure i will take part. I've been reading about all the rising cases and our ship is looking very full at the moment booking wise. So i'm not sure i'm ready for large gathering just yet.

    Hey CC peeps,

I have been repeatedly trying to upload my NHS covid vaccine pass onto my Medallion App, using my IPhone.  My Vaccine pass is saved to my iCloud Drive as that is all the App keeps asking for, but when I go into upload file, the Covid Pass is greyed out.  Is this because it's a PDF and the Medallion App cannot read PDF's?  I am flumoxed.  I have taken a photograph of the pass and tried to upload that, but it just says, waiting for verification.  I'm now concerned about uploading our pre boarding covid tests as they are time sensitive.  Are there any intrepid people who have this figured out?  Many thanks.

The problem is the PDF format. Princess don't seem to be able to recognise it and the document has to be in a Jpeg format. I had the same issue when trying to upload mine and my husbands NHS certs for our up coming  July cruise. In the end i had to take a screen shot of the booster page. I managed to get that to upload but it still shows pending... I have a printed copy i plan on taking with us just in case.

I am wondering though what is going to happen when i try to upload the test cert required before boarding.

    Happy sailing x Jules

  14. Every cruise we have been that has left from Southampton there has been a kettle in the room. Oh and that's not just Princess,  Royal Caribbean and P&O do to. As said we brits like our tea, but I seem to remember someone saying princess and rccl have them in their cabins because P&O do and they have the biggest UK market. I do remember a few years back hearing that after the sapphires dry Dock where they replaced the mattresses and tvs, they didn't put the kettles back. They got so many complaints that they had to bring them out of storage. We were on the 2nd cruise after this and we had them when we got on board. Now I'm expecting a kettle and tea and coffee set up when we get on the enchanted in July, but I'm not sure we will use it much. I say this as we sailed twice last year on regal and sky with princess plus drinks. We used the room. Kettle half as much as we usually would as it was so easy to order off the medallion a special coffee or a hot chocolate to the room. As we are not heading for the med but Iceland and Norway we may drink more hot drinks so may end up doing the same again. Again I'll be surprised if there isn't one waiting for us when we sail next month.

  15. I;m booked on the 23rd of July sailing and our roll call is expecting it to almost full. When it went live for booking they were only selling Balcony, mini's and suites then a few weeks ago they listed the insides and they ae selling well to as most of the rest are sold out. So if you ask me how full the ship is will depend on how well the cruise is selling, so some will be fuller than others. x
