  1. The online system is a little wonky. If you select a group of 6 you will be presented with certain times. If you select a group of 4, you will be presented with a completely different set of times. I have travelled the last two times with a group of 7, so we have the same issue. Check the system for a group of 4 or 6 and then adjust it once you get on board. At least you know you have something and they can 'make it work'.

  2. The secret itineraries tour of the Doges Palace is good too - you see the cell where Casanova was held.

Took my boys on the secret tour of the Doges Palace when they were about 12 and they loved it.

  3. In the Haven on Getaway last fall and no binoculars. However, our butler was so amazing, that if we had asked for them, I am sure we would have received a pair. He was always there with a treat, an umbrella, a bucket of beer. I think he enjoyed our private sail away parties as much as we did!

  4. We sailed in a Haven suite for the first time last month. We did a Baltic cruise so it was very port intensive. For me, the greatest perk was early disembarkation. For example, in St. Petersburg, Russia we were off the ship and through customs in 20 minutes. We spoke to other passengers who were over TWO HOURS. Yikes. I loved that you met in the Haven lounge and they took you down the service elevator and you bypassed all lines. Bonus!

Regarding the Butler, we had breakfast on early port days ordered in. It was awesome. We also had a couple of 'sail away' parties on our balcony and our Butler was amazing bringing snacks and checking on us to see if we needed more drinks and snacks.

  5. Was in Haven on the Getaway in October and we were offered Margaritaville on embarkation day. Took advantage of it, since I hadn't booked it for specialty dining. We did three dinners (Teppanyaki, Cagney's, Ocean Blue) but would have been delighted to eat at the Haven even more. For a seven day cruise, I think there is enough there to keep you happy.

  6. I just got off the Getaway and purchased the Vivo Vino package (actually a few of them!) A bottle of wine works out to be about $25-35, depending on which package you choose. For me, the price of a bottle of wine per day was still a bargain over either drinks package.

(disclaimer.... it was the Baltic cruise and very port intensive. If I were on a beach it might be a different story.)
