Do the safes in the staterooms on the 'Breakaway' have a digital keypad or does one have to use a card :confused:

The last time I was on the Breakaway we had to remember a code that we had made.

So I just purchased a $100 onboard credit certificate on my NCL. Just wondering how this works. When we board, will this $100 already be applied on our onboard account?

It should be applied. But what you should do is make a copy of the receipt that you paid just in case they don't apply it. I will be cruising soon and that is what I did.

I will be on the NCL Breakaway on October 2 and purchased a 3 meal package and paid 81.42 per person. I hope that helps.

Charlie Love was playing last week. He was good enough but what I liked is that he got all involved and up dancing. He was fun. Have fun! Wish I was back on Breakaway!

Travelling on the Breakaway in Nov and leaving from NY. Does anyone know how long after departure you can see the statue of Liberty? I want to be up on deck so I don't miss it. Thanks! :)

The ship comes out of port really slow..the statue is really not far..maybe 30 to 40 mins after it pulls out of dock..give or take...:)

The Second City is probably booked, but you can do standby.

In the Manhattan there is music, but do not recall start time(ate between 5:30PM and 6PM) and the band was playing. Never caught Burn the Floor in Manhattan-I believe it is later in week.

 

Come on over to the roll call. I am on this same sailing and there is a meet and greet organized.

I will be on the Breakaway on Oct 2 and Second City was not even on the schedule to be picked. I would love to see the show..

I am on the NCL Breakaway October 2 and would like to know who is playing there currently. I used to see Slam Allen and was hoping he was still playing!

The last time I was there it was available in the building on the dock where the security check point is. They will deliver the bottles to the ship and you will get them in your stateroom on the last night of the cruise. At that time a bottle was 38.00. I am not sure the price now.

JoAnn, are there still issues with the iconcierge app and being able to phone off the ship with it at a discounted rate? In December on the Breakaway that part of the app wasn't working, so was useless for us. Internet manager said it was an issue and wasn't working for anyone, and we were able to get the $7.95 app fee back. We'll be back on board on the 17th and need phone use daily and hated paying the $4.99 per minute for the cabin phone.

Wow..I am wondering if the cabin phone went up? Because I used the cabin phone and it was 1.99 per min. which I thought was cheap since my cell phone charge was 2.49 per minute..

I have a friend who drinks beer and will be traveling on the NCL Breakaway if they have any craft or IPA beer on board?

I have a brother who is disabled..wears a prostetic and was wondering how others would use the pool since on Carnival they don't have a lift.

It looks like our flight is on time and it took us 45 minutes to pass security. I am glad to be leaving today because it is suppose to snow again!!

I contacted Crucon today and they told me that they are mailing out the check. I will get a 25.00 gift card after I get back from the cruise.

Cruisin Dave..The weather report I heard that there is storm out of Texas and headed East toward NY Wednesday into Thursday but hope that we will just get rain. I will keep an eye on it tonight. .

I have not received that call yet but my phone was out due to technical issues with the cable company. Maybe we will get a call tomorrow.

I am getting concerned with the weather because the weather that was I posted yesterday for Thursday is now the weather for Friday!! Thursday it went from 60% chance of snow and rain to 30% and Friday it went from 30% to 60%. I hope that we will be able to fly out!! I guess all I can do is pray!!

From what I have read, you just let the porter know you have FTTF and they put a piece of orange tape on your luggage. I think that way everyone knows it is a FTTF piece of luggage.

Can't wait to meet everyone and get into the summer weather!!! I hope we don't get snowed out before we leave..

I have a question...Since we have FTTF, is there a special place that we would be giving our luggage to? I have not done this before.

Wow! Two weeks from tomorrow we'll be on our way!

 

I'm bringing 36 magnets, I hope that will be enough. I'll start putting them together today. For those who have asked, I'm not charging anything, it just seemed like a fun thing to do for what seems to be a great group of people. It isn't that much more work to make multiples than to make the first one. I'll bring them to the first meet and greet, and maybe to the meeting place the first day of the cruise.

 

Heidi, could you post a summary list of the meet and greet times and locations for all of us? I'm still looking for those Mardi Gras beads. I'm a retired elementary school teacher, so I must have some around here somewhere:D If I can't find them, I'll be wearing my flashing led cruise ship pin.

 

Temps were actually in the twenties yesterday and teens today. It's sad when those temperatures start to feel balmy! Another cold advisory starts at 6:00 tonight, so here we go again! Boy, do I need this cruise!

 

I'm off to start figuring out what to pack. I think I read somewhere that the machines in the self-serve laundry use the Sign and Sail cards? Does anyone know for sure? It would be nice not to have to pack the usual roll of quarters ;)
