  1. More details please.

I was pretty upset so I don't remember everything I had said. I know I started with how his parents must be 1st cousins and they should have given more thought to birth control. My wife said I somehow worked his eating paint chips was he was a baby into the conversation.

On a more positive note, this was the 1st time in 17 cruises that something like this happened.

  2. I wanna know the reaction they got? I know the reaction I would have had!

I've been a Police Officer for over 25 years. Spitting on me is one of the things you definitely don't want to do. My wife told me afterwards that I had scared her.

  3. On my last cruise, my wife and I were sitting outside of the casino next to a group of teenagers. One of them filled his mouth up with sunflower seeds and spit them all over me.

I don't think they expected the reaction they got.

  4. Thank you all.....I have booked a shuttle from the hotel to port for $26 for both of us with MJS shuttle. My main concern was from the airport to the hotel.....looks like, with taxifarefinder it'll be about $16 with tip.

I prefer a cab over a shuttle to the port. Sometimes you get stuck waiting for the shuttle to fill up before they bring you over. If you're paying $16 to get to your hotel, you'd pay about the same from the hotel to the port.

  5. My friend and I are flying in to FLL at 11:05 PM the night before the cruise, and our hotel shuttle will not be running at that time. Are taxis really outrageous price wise?? The hotel isn't far from the airport. Thanks

We've always taken a cab from the airport. Most of the hotels are within the cab's $15.00 range. In February, we stayed at the Riverside on Las Olas which is the furthest we stayed. It was $25 for about a 6 mile ride.

  6. I would not expect them to wait after 4:00 for us, however if all aboard is at 3:00 and we will get there at 3:10 I would hope it is a possibility to still board. That is why I asked about "all aboard." I know that there are individuals who assume everything waits for their arrival, we are not among them. As you can see by my first post, we hope to be there by 2-2:30. Cherie

We had been running late one time, and had called. They informed us the ship sailed at 4 but the Port closed at 3:30.

My comment was directed to the person telling you to call if you were going to be delayed. I hate for someone to read this and then be disappointed when the ship sailed without them because they thought it would wait.

  7. With E*Trade, you will only get a statement if you did a transaction during the month.

You can also get the info from your portfolio.

From their home page, click on the "Trading & Portfolio" link at the top of the page. Then select "portfolios". To the right of your account number, use the "View" drop down menu and select Options grouping.

Print this page. Here's the link to Carnival's investor relations.

  8. My wife on past cruises has brought playing cards, cozies, hats ect. that have local touristy stuff on them and used these for tipping the room steward and wait staff. We also given extra $$ along with it. My question is has any one else done this or something similar?

She heard that the staff really like this. I just do not want to insult anyone by doing this.

    What do you-all do??:confused::confused:

Whatever $$ was going to be spent on touristy stuff should just be given to the staff instead of the trinkets.

  9. On January 27 Heald posted

"Your hundreds of comments about jeans have been fascinating to read. The bottom line is that regardless of where the ship is sailing from jeans are not permitted in the Steakhouse. And that applies to designer jeans made by an Italian fashion house stitched together with thread made from a Peacocks scrotum or a huge pair of denims from Big Bubbas Fat and Tall shop."

He later wrote "Just to clarify. Jeans are allowed in the Steakhouse on every night EXCEPT elegant night. But they can not be Swiss Cheese jeans."

  10. John Heald just had a section on his Facebook page about Jeans in the Steak House. He says they're not allowed.

Some of the people commenting said they had been turned away at the door for wearing jeans.

From the Carnival site they say:

*Please note: Steakhouses are only available on Conquest-class, Spirit-class, Splendor-class and Dream-class ships. Please refer to Carnival.com to see if your ship has a steakhouse onboard. Requested dates and times will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis. If requested time is full, the next available time slot will be assigned. Dress Code is Cruise Elegant. Jeans allowed on Cruise Casual evenings. The $35 fee includes an appetizer, entrée, dessert and the wait staff's gratuity; additional gratuities are optional and may be extended in cash or to the guest's Sail & Sign Account, at the guest's discretion. The reservation fee does not include any beverage that is normally ordered through the bar service such as wine, liquor, soda and bottled water. By popular request, all dining rooms are smoke-free. Please allow 2 1/2 hours for dining experience.

  11. Do any recent Freedom cruisers know who the current Maitre D' is?? Pablo Landa was, but I think he went home for the Holidays. Many thanks for any help. John F

I'm hoping Pablo is still the Maitre D' for our February cruise. He had sent me an email last month saying he was going on vacation Dec. 9, and thought he was going to be transferred to another ship afterwards.

I saw where someone else posted that Pablo is supposed to be back on the Freedom next week. Anyone know why Carnival doesn't have a master Maitre D' list?
