What did you and Marian book?
Happy Thanksgiving!
Hi Flounder,
We booked Northern Pacific Passage for April 23. Used the TGS23 for a pretty good promo.
Happy Birdday!!
Oh, it appears that your local TA can give you up to $1,300 for a cruise over 14 nights.

😊Oh thanks!
The last one from a few weeks ago ended up being almost the length of "War and Peace."
I guess appropriate for Eastern Europe.🤔
We have an Azamara scheduled in the spring in Spain and Portugal and then an Italian Sojourn over the summer.
You said you are currently on board? Lucky you! 🥳
Where are you having your Turkey day?
Sounds good. Please notify us on Viking when your posting. Loved your pics and posts.
Viking is doing turkey on Thanksgiving. Which is a relief because originally they had it on the app two days later!

🙋♀️Thanks for the info MikeyB.
I did call my agent at Viking about it and he said it wasn't good on the voyage we have a deposit on.. just a new voyage if we wanted to book one.😊
So what brilliant travelog can I expect in the future?

Sorry to say FV23 is not combinable with any other offers. It might be with EBD but as we know that offer generally means nothing.
And the cruise consultant admitted that some offers are combinable.

I should have added that my TA already said "no" because Viking doesn't combine promos.
But from my past experience I know they do.
Getting a straight answer is hard to do.

Special Future Guest Promotion, FV23 and as I posted it is for those who currently have a cruise booked. small print on back which I did not see before...can not be used on line, not good for World Cruise, expires 12/31/2023. Pay in full is before the 6 months that we usually get if booking with a cruise already booked. 2025 5/31/2024 and 2026 11/30/2024. this came in Saturday's mail. Maybe it is Fake News but sure looks a viking Mailing!
Deec...I
I might be in love with you. But time will tell. On board the Sky now. And will find out tomorrow if its combinable with TGS23. Wouldnt that be nice.
For the future world cruisers. The Viking singers/dancers just came onboard in Barcelona.
Although i saw four board. Only 3 performed at the welcome aboard. There are a number of rooms being refurbished on deck3 Starboard. Sounds sometimes like Gaza Strip. Not really what you should expect. Stewards are friendly and outstanding.
The captain is a giant. Jenna is onboard. Prio is the bartenderr in the Living Room. Third cruise with him. Alan on guitar. Its 11:17 now. Must have another drink

Do you remember (admittedly far back in 2019) where in Valparaiso you might have sourced your wine for the Chilean Fjords trip? I'm doing that in December and I think I may have found an ok wine shop, but you may well know better!
Rob- Before that other wino replies....can you tell us the name/address of your wine shop?
Thanks

Hi Sleepy, (it takes one to two weeks to recover)
You nailed it! Loved your comments and pictures.
Felt like I was there again. Except I don't think I saw any pictures of the two of you drinking! You must always to so on vacation.
Any future plans on Viking?
And congratulations on the new addition to the family.

Only one reason: for the onboard credits.
So I think that sometimes companies like Viking (or builders) prefer dealing with agents because they know the ins and outs and make things easier overall for them.
You are making two different and opposite arguments.
I agree that the only reason to book a cruise either with Viking and then transferring to a TA is the OBC. And please note that my TA gives it to me as a refundable credit. I have received a check for the unused credit from Viking many times.
I don't agree with your last statement. I expect (sometimes foolishly) that Viking knows more about their product than a third party who sells different cruise lines. If I call my TA and ask some question, she will likely have to call Viking. That doesn't make things easier.
In fact, after you book a cruise thru Viking and transfer the booking to a TA, the TA then must call Viking for the sole purpose of transferring a booking. That does not make Vikings time for efficient.

I stand (or sit as I write this) corrected.
Next time I speak to my Viking agent (Lucy), I will ask her to explain.

You might be right today.
My situation was last spring. I specifically tried to do the pre-paid gratuities via 3.3% discount checking account and it wouldn't let me. It was 25 days out. I talked to Viking and the rep said the cutoff is 30 days so I had missed it. Whatever it was, I could not process it which says the system knew at that time.
Perhaps it is 14 days now or perhaps it was 14 days a year ago or whatever.
In any case, buyer beware.
Same here. I tried making a payment for Silver spirits and gratuites at about 11 days. They lock you out of reservations/ excursions at one week so I thought I had time. I'm pretty sure, the message said 2 weeks.

at 30 days. Not sure what you mean by CC fee. Use a CC that doesn't charge a fee and gives rewards in cash or miles/points.
I believe, but I might be wrong, it is 14 days.

Hi, stop the madness. On my current cruise there are 46 wines from all over the world that are $8 US dollars. Reds white Chilean Australian etc. Lots of choices. Some are $9. My complaint is theire are not better wines selling for lets say $13 or $15. For the average wine drinkers there are lots of choices. I suggest bringing your favorite on board and not complain to others.
