There is a frame in the link posted by the OP. It shows the man going feet first with both of his hands holding something (a backpack?) in front of him.
His legs are in a position that someone would have if (*speculation on my part*) he was sitting on a railing with his knees bent. If you look at the photo, you'll see what I mean. He's not in focus and it happens very quickly. As he falls, he looks to be leaning to his left side just before he is out of frame. I had to slow the video down to .03% just to get about 8 frames and none are exactly clear. I'll continue to look for better video.
EDIT
By "full fall", I mean the video captured by the camera as he fell past the family, not the entire fall.
Do you have a link to the vid you saw?

This discussion of discarded food made me think of pagpag. We are so privileged to be able to enjoy our passion of travel and leisure. We should always be thankful.
What's a pagpag? 🙂

Delta's issues are separate from this. They have had a major malfunction in their crew tracking system. Very similar to the Southwest meltdown not long ago. They have lost complete control of tracking their flight attendants and pilots. There are stories of crews (and of course, passengers) stranded in the wrong cities all over the world and not only is crew scheduling unaware of where many of these people are, but the crews themselves can't even get through to crew scheduling.
They do have some flights operating (mega-late), but Delta is a huge mess right now, unfortunately. Thousands of flights cancelled. And according to industry sites, this will in no way be resolved "within a day or two".

We are on her in September. As close as we could get to the inaugural.
Hope you have a wonderful time! The food should be spectacular.
The food should be spectacular? You do realize this is still a RC ship, right?

I've actually heard Princess will be doing some originating cruises from PC as well. It's amazing to see the growth there within this past few years.

I eat every thing with utensils in the buffet . I dont touch any of the food with my hands.
I select food that is eatable with a knife and fork .
We never eat the bread in the dining room , we just ask to take it away .
If you see someone eating a muffin with a knife and fork , thats me .
If i eat a slice of pizza i throw away the crust if im manhandling it .
And never touch your face .
... What ??

What is a "traditional" bow design? Bow designs are not aesthetic art designs. They have practical uses. And with technology evolutions, bow designs change, too.
Besides, Icon' bow design *is* traditional since it looks much more like early ocean liners.Ok, the long-used "raked bow" is what I was referring to. See how pretty? As opposed to the second 2 ... just hideous.

Wouldn't it be nice if, for this next class, the rumors of smaller were actually true? And that they would go back to taking more of a dignified approach ?
Like .. no roller coasters or waterslides hanging off the sides? And no giant cartoon characters and balls and shapes and bumper cars and ropes courses all over the upper decks? No gimmicky silliness like observation capsules that rise to the heavens. Just more aesthetically pleasing .. and maybe even (gasp!) more 'traditional/classic' cruise ship looking design .. unlike the shapes of the behemoths that have been coming out with all the cruise lines this past few years? Maybe back to a more traditional bow design again, as opposed to that ugly Icon-style/Celebrity Edge/Norwegian Prima barge-like bow. (Yes, I know, i know .. more efficient, but still .. ugly).
And a smaller more manageable size .. and not as heavily family oriented as these last classes have been?
Just wishful thinking on my part, but i'm hoping for a little of this!

All things considered, I have a feeling NCL wishes the ship captain had waited an hour to get them back on board. The national media ran hard with this story, and there is just no good way to spin it for NCL. This seemed a bit different to me than drunken pier runners in Cozumel who can't tell time. I'm all for policies until they create a damn fool result.
Except that they didn't know where those people were or when they might be back. - if at all. If they did wait one hour .. or 2 or 3 ... and then left, people would still be criticizing them for not waiting longer. NCL and the captain did nothing wrong here. NCL is telling it like it is in their own comments .. they were on a private excursion and got back to the tendering location over an hour past cut off time. Go off on your own .. then you assume all responsibility for getting yourself back on time. If not, oh well.

We like to have room service coffee delivered to our cabin pre-breakfast. We were on Mariner last April and was surprised that the free coffee was pretty good (on prior trips, the free coffee was either bad or really bad!). I like the little pastry plate and the fresh fruit plate that you can order alone with the coffee. Always came right on time each AM.
Coffee in the promenade cafe is really good as well..

Very little sympathy for this group. They chose to go off on their own on a non-ship excursion and were well over an hour past the cutoff time. NCL owed them nothing. The ship staff had no idea where these people could have been on that island .. or how far out they were.

I don't think it's about ridiculing at all, really .. its all just part of the fun. What i've seen is people up on deck whooping and cheering them on as they run toward the gangway and then the claps, etc. when they make it on.
I only ever saw someone denied once .. and it was more because he was wasted drunk and combative and was screaming and throwing his fists at the ship gangway/security staff in Cozumel last April. . People did cheer when they yanked up the gangway and left him behind .. being carted off by the Mexican police .. which he deserved.

And the door is too small………
.. and once you've found your way in the darkness up to the door, you have to climb out and across the hull and scale down the bottom of the hull on a rope and into the frigid oil slicked water (Costa Concordia).

There are so many reasons why someone could miss the ship - not all of them are the persons fault either.
I think regardless its a horrible situation to be in and I can't help feeling sorry for them, it's my worst nightmare having that happen to me.
A worse nightmare is the ship sinking. At night.

We went to Playa Mia and it was kind of a pit (dirty, crap food, even crappier weak drinks, REAL crowded) ... so I'd be interested in this

I was on Mariner last April and loved it. I like the mid-size ships best (the Voyager and Freedom class). The bigger crazy amusement parks at sea with 6000+ pax have no appeal to me.
Mariner was just the right size.
