  1. I am enjoying following along and your photos are beautiful!! We are doing Vancouver to Honolulu in September. And we  rented a car in Hilo and plan on doing a big driving day and plan to see some of the places that have been mentioned here !!
I am curious if you brought your own snorkel gear or did you rent??

I think the compensation varies based on the amount one paid for the cabin.  Those who purchase suites pay a lot more than those who purchase insides.  I was on a cruise once and Freeport was devastated by a hurricane.  The captain decided to skip Nassau and go to Freeport to share water and food with them.  We were reimbursed for one day's cost of our cabin.  I was happy to be paid good money not to go to Nassau since I never get off there!

We were on the Boston Canada cruise in Sept. 2022 when a hurricane came up the coast and changed quite a few of our ports. It canceled a couple and we did not get compensated at all and we were in a sky suite?? but I do know can change itineraries to keep the passenger safe . But we did get compensated for the last five days that we were quarantining in our room because of Covid!! It was definitely a trip for the books!! And on top it off it ,it was a rebooking from the 2020 cruise that we had book that was canceled because of Covid!

  3. We have booked an alcove a couple times once on the Solstice to Mexico and we were just assigned one.On our Sept. cruise to Hawaii  it’s on the last day so I might request one early in the cruise.I love the relaxed atmosphere! And we got it when it was I believe 50% off ! I think we paid $68 for the port day!

Once we had a cabana booked on the edge, we got a choice of a bottle of vodka or champagne. we chose the bottle of vodka because we did not have the beverage package but I don’t see that information on the website anymore?(or maybe I just didn’t look hard enough 😉 )

We were on the November 25 Reflection sailing and had the new menus. The food and offerings were excellent. Even the buffet was very good. My parents cruised with us and thought the food was much better than their last Princess cruise. My mother must eat gluten-free and was very happy with all the options she had.

I am gluten-free and did not find a lot of options on our cruise on the edge last year. I did find a gluten-free pizza and the Oceanview Café that was pretty good. Just curious if there was a lot more options . at dinner, they would always make sure there were some sliced gluten-free bread, but after two nights, I just opted not to have any bread at all it was OK but did not need it!

Absolutely!  There are benches in front of the glass blowing area set up for viewing.

Thank you for the quick replies! I thought so I have been on a couple ships that had the hot glass show, but I feel like it was either too busy or it was too windy out there to sit and watch. I do not want to do it. I have some wrist problems, but I want to watch.

  6. I just started to read your review on Friday, and finally caught up. It was great to see the pictures and hear your views of the new ship.!! Thank you !!

Also about the dish pick up I have to say I don’t think I would like them sitting in the hallway for long periods either!! We sailed on the Edge  in March, and the woman who delivered our breakfast, would call within the half an hour and ask if our tray was ready to be picked up! I realized on day three that I needed to start having my breakfast right when it arrived Lol !

I have been on many X cruises and eat in Sushi On 5 and Raw On 5 and never had to make reservations, never seen it that full either.

I also have never made a reservation nor have I had dinner there. But on this particular cruise, it was busy.! We just went back the next day to get the lobster Ramen :)

  8. We have stayed in a few sky suites in the past, but we also have decided to go with an aqua class room going forward. The prices went up too high! I would rather book an aqua, and do a couple nights in specialty dining, and save the extra money!! We are doing a cruise in September that has five sea days so Luminae would have been nice but we are OK with going to the main dining room a  couple of days and sushi on five and maybe one of the specialty restaurants if they are open for lunch.

I cannot get a martini 🍸 with the drinks package, but I can during HH - but has been said it is made with House hooch so presumably not the same quality as you would receive in the Martini Bar?

We paid for our martini at the martini bar on our edge cruise in March the first night because happy hour is not available. We had the bartender make it with kettle one .He tried to talk us into the beverage package,(BCC cruise )but told him that we were elite plus and would be doing the happy hour menu going forward. We tipped him well. The next night at happy hour he made our dirty martinis with kettle one and every night after. And never charge us extra. We tipped them all very well through out the cruise because our drinks were all free so why not !!

  10. I apologize if this question has been answered. They are having their flash sale that ends today and I was looking at the premium Wi-Fi for one device . The cost comes out to $45. My question is we are elite plus and curious if I really need to upgrade the Wi-Fi since it comes with 240 minutes already? We are not people who have to be on it all the time .But we have 5 days at sea and not sure if we will go through those minutes before we arrive in Hawaii. Our ATT plan will cover it after that.

    cheers

  11. Thanks I was able to upgrade the classic to the premium at 50% off on our September 2024 cruise to Hawaii on Solstice!! I also canceled and rebooked three specialty dining restaurants, and got those also discounted. We just became elite plus last year so I was going to go down to customer service to see about getting the discount after we got on board. Not sure if we got a better deal with the sale or if I would’ve waited??  but I will probably go down to customer service anyway and check.

  12. We did the full transit in 2018 from San Diego to Fort Lauderdale and loved it . We were on the cruise right before but it was cancelled at the last minute because the Infinity was having mechanical problems. We were so disappointed!! But my TA was able to get us on the next cruise also in a SS.Celebrity gave us a 50% credit for future cruise. We used that credit and added a bit more and took an RS at the last minute ( before move up bids) when it came available!! It was an amazing experience!!
We both had on our bucket list!
