Yes I did have a seven course meal at Taste restaurant on the Breakaway. Before you think that I had to be rolled back to my stateroom, they were all appetizers and my husband did help me to eat a couple of them.
Our gracious server was Ericson, who didn't bat an eye as I ran down the menu and told him what I wanted. Top notch service.
I've rated them and explained what I thought of each.
More photos, menu and Manhattan room menu and food photos are on my blog.
- Greek Salad 4 out of 5 stars. Tasty without being too heavy on the Olive Oil Dressing.
- Hummus and Bagel Chips. 3 out of 5 stars. I enjoyed the hummus and savory marinated vegetables. The chips were nice but I think that I like the idea of Bagel chips more than Bagel chips.
- Scallops and Garlic Bread. 2.5 out of 5 stars. My husband mentioned that the sauce used for the scallops seemed to be the same one used for the Escargot in Le Bistro and that it worked better with Escargot. I thought that it was flavorful but rather overpowering for such a light meal. The garlic bread was quite delicious. I could eat it all day, but I didn't. This time.

I have one of those husband's too. :D
LOL You know the drill then! I know it's a good thing, but he drives me nuts with that behavior sometimes!

For seven days, anywhere from $300-700 per person, but this usually includes a cruise credit or two. We don't go on excursions but I will buy makeup and gifts in the shop and eat at a specialty restaurant a few times. In general I spend more when I'm traveling alone or with friends than when I'm with my husband, because he's forever asking me "do you really. want/need that?" And sighs deeply when I say yes. LOL.

Cruise how you like!!!
I enjoy the space of balconies and mini-suites but I like the quiet and dark that you can only get in an inside. I detest having to hear other people's voices when I'm on my balcony, and have light streaming in from their balconies at night, but it comes with the territory when I have one.
I've been on many cruises and as long as I'm enjoying myself that's the main thing. I will not pay for a suite on a main stream cruise line, I'd rather spend that money on renting a trawler with just me and my honey or traveling on a luxury line.
There are so many different room styles for varying personalities, whatever room you chose just make sure you love it for your needs.
As long as you're happy while cruising that's what counts. :)

Sometimes. It depends on my mood. I run a travel blog so the more information, the sooner the better, but sometimes I just want to enjoy myself without editing photos and writing my entire vacation. I will usually post something on FB and/or twitter, but last week, while I did bring my laptop and edit photos (though it wasn't the main reason for bringing it), I didn't post to social media or my blog, I simply didn't feel like being connected.

They certainly had them on the Breakaway last week. I think that they're a staple on most Norwegian ships. I remember them being there on the Gem earlier this year and I think they might have been on the Getaway as well this summer, but I can't say for sure.

Was on the Breakaway for my kids spring break in march 2014 and they didn't have the back boards then. Glad to see the addition, as it was very tough on my back and left red marks on my spine and shoulder blades for a few hours. Ouch! Only did it once because of that. And yes you have to be at least 99 pounds and they do weigh you on a scale to the previous poster who was inquiring. :)
That photo was from my May 2013 cruise on the Breakaway. I'll be going again in less than 2 weeks and will take more photos if I happen to go on the slides.
That is odd that they didn't have them in March. I couldn't imagine going on that slide without a cushion between me and the slide, especially at that velocity. Ouch indeed!
I did see a young girl of about 12 get stuck and have to use the escape hatch.

I'd go with same ship, different itinerary.

I booked a solo cabin for my 2012 Transatlantic and was fine. I spent a lot of time out of my stateroom and even when I spent time in the room I didn't feel confined or cramped. It depends on your personality and what you see yourself doing the most on the trip.

Hi Winston Wolf I know that was a really old post but I'm replying anyway. Haha. It was down for a few days in Feb. I hope that you were able to find what you needed later on. :)

Thanks for the trip report! Very interesting and informative.

Another vote for the sideways cabins on Jewel class ships. If you don't mind being a bit closer to the elevators and Blue Lagoon the layout is a welcome change.

Sinan is truly awesome. I hope to be on the Solstice sooner than later. To me he makes any cruise that much better.
Three of my favorites left NCL for varying reasons.
Sinan Ulucay - to Celebrity
Gary Glading - Working on his animal sanctuary
Kyle Dodson - to Celebrity

What is wrong with you people?
They played this song on the Dawn and when then did - people felt good. Excited. Happy.
Some real Debbie Downers on here today. Let people have fun.
LOL That was similar to my thought. Or even better, just don't go to the welcome aboard show. I'd no idea that anything like this was even going on.

I wonder - we were in the medical bay on Friday around lunch time, and there was a man in one of the rooms, snoring like a bear while 2 guards watched him constantly. He woke up at one point and sounded like he was still drunk; I asked the nurse what was wrong with him and after a brief hesitation, she said he was "very sick." Surely it wasn't the same guy?
Sounds like it could have been the "beast". Especially since the guards were still watching him. I really hope the wife was able to, and did press charges. I hope that all was well with you and that you didn't have to be there for anything serious.

Thanks for your review.
Thanks for reading it.

It's not an inside tip, but on the Jade and other Jewel class ships I like heading up to Spinnaker when the ship is in port. Lots of light, a nice view a good place for catching up on a book. It's fairly quiet except for the background music but I find that it's usually not disturbing.

Thanks for the review and blog, the ship does indeed look gorgeous! And so does Trunk Bay!
Hope the cruise gave you the lift you needed, nothing like a relaxing cruise to just enjoy life.
Look forward to reading about your next adventure!
Thank you QuattroRomeo. Very true. Sometimes the restart that pampering and relaxation brings is what the Doctor ordered. Happy cruising!:)

OMG hearing about the violent wife beater just made me physically ill...
Otherwise enjoying your report but now just a bit nauseous...
He definitely had a lot of gall. Hopefully she will be going home to those that love her and not that wild beast.

Nice report...thanks!
Sure thing. :)

7 Course Meal at Taste on the Breakaway
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
- Atlantic Chowder Soup. 3.5 of 5.
Not memorable but good. A tasty soup that I wouldn’t hesitate to try again. Not overly seafoody, but still maintaining that essence.
