Hi All-

Sailing on the Harmony this November. Looking to reserve Chops Grille for the 1st night. Online cruise planner does not let you use the D+ BOGO for 1st & 2nd night specialty dining, buy one get second free. Spoke to someone at C&A who indicated that I can book & pay for it online in advance and then get a refund back for second person once on the ship.

Has anyone done this recently? If so, was it a hassle or did they refund the second person easily at the Specialty Restaurant? Was refund given back your credit card or ship board credit?

I was Oasis in April and they had lobster in the Windjammer on formal night but it was not lobster tails. They had a station where they were cooking pasta and lobster was one of the meats you could have added.

I was on the Oasis in Nov 2015 and they did have lobster tails in the WJ. I was feeding the kids dinner before AO when i discovered them. Had several in the WJ before dinner. Then mentioned it at dinner in the MDR. Waiter did not know anything about it and i went back up and brought down a plate full for the MDR table to share. The second batch we had were actually better than the first. I think they just came out of the kitchen so they were fresh.

I think that this has been addressed before but could not find a posting. I am D+ and sailing on Harmony in November. I'd like to book in advance of cruising Specialty Dining (Chops Grill) on 1st night. I know that one of the D+ benefits is the BOGO on first or second night but the RCCL cruise planner requires you to pay both people up front. I spoke to someone at C&A who indicated you can reserve & pay for it in advance and then once on the ship get refund either as room credit or refund on card. Has anyone tried this recently? Does it work or do they give you a hassle when you are on the ship to get the refund.

I apologize for asking this but this is a long thread and it too time consuming to read back thru all the posts.

Can someone summarize what the current policy is on the Oasis Class ships (particularly the Harmony) for Diamond Plus Happy Hour.

Is there still a Diamond Plus lounge and if so is there still a Happy Hour from 5Pm-8:30 with open bar?

Or has RCCL now implemented just the 3 drink vouchers per evening.

I have 2 kids similar ages. Been on the Allure several times. Adventure Ocean is always a highlight. Generally they stay the entire time in their designated age group room but they do sometimes go to the Adventure Science, Imaginearium, Adventure Theater or even up to the Sports court.

The listed activities tend to be more of a guide or suggestion. They do keep to this but depending upon how many kids are in the room the counselors will deviate from the list to ensure the activities work for the size group. No activity lasts very long so if a kid doesnt like a particular activity then they don't get too bored. If you are really nervous (or your kid is nervous) you can always rent a deck phone and leave the number with the club. That way, the club can always reach you whereever you are on the ship. There is a limited # of deck phones so reserve one early when you get on.

Late Night is definitely a highlight. As someone posted they start charging at 10PM. Around 10:30/11 PM they start a marathon GaGa Ball tournament that can last for a couple hours. Good luck getting your child out at that time. I have never seen any kid (girls or boys) be happy to leave before the they are "officially" out or win a medal.

Also, AO runs lots of "family" activities throughout the day that you can participate with your kids at as well as typically a carnival on the boardwalk with face painting and balloon animals.

You're going to love the ship and not want to get off.

Has anyone ever had headliner Jesse Hamilton? Just found out he's our headliner on our thanksgiving cruise on Oasis, but haven't found anything about him. I did a search but it didn't turn up much.

Where did you hear this?

We will be sailing on this cruise as well.
