is there a number of days restriction on buying a drinks package? For example the P&O package is not available on cruises of less than 7 days duration. I am on the 4 day Scotland cruise by cruise in March next year (covid willing) so the drinks package may not be available.
-
Only you can be the judge of that.
The drinks package when bought in the first two days includes the 15% Service Charge whereby buying from the menu 15% is added)

The problem for me is P&O has not issued the FCC for me yet although I phoned P&O once and my TA contacted P&O twice. I can't rebook until the FCC is issued. However the TA said they can book for me even the FCC is not issued, they can handle with that later. I do want to rebook asap in afraid of the price might go up further (although it is already high for next summer)
I will phone P&O again
I suggest contact P&O Directly, If you have any FCC available or Future Cruise Deposit (FCD) it should be recorded against your P&O Peninsular Club number. P&O will be able to look up your "cancelled" Voyage reference and cross reference it. With their Complete Cruise Solution booking engine.

It ought to be an especially good day for ship spotters in Weymouth today. I think this may be the first time there have been as many as seven cruise ships at the anchorage since the shutdown, if ever. We almost had that many at the same time last week but Ventura left shortly before Britannia arrived on that occasion. For the record, here are the seven cruise ships at Weymouth/Portland Anchorage now.
Queen Victoria
Aurora
Britannia
Arcadi
Azura
Ventura
Oceana
Here is the You Tube Video of them if allowed (as P&O Ships)

Taken a few days ago of QV (and Silversea," Silver Spirit" ) leaving Southampton for a run along the South Coast,

It was ages ago that a poster had discovered that the Name Queen Anne had been registered by Cunard for their 4th Ship, and informed us on this forum. Everyone more or less agreed that it would not be name used at the Christening ceremony.

Southampton also has its own District energy scheme, which also supplies Carnival House and West Quay Shopping Centre and the Council Offices and more.

I still reckon that from when we started to get more aware of COVID-19 back in March and to Cruise lines suspending cruising, to now in May 2020 is a Completely different scenario.
Who would have expected the UK Government to be paying the wages of over 6million workers in May 2020 ?
With the present 6ft social distance recommended and many people scared to travel on Public Transport when restrictions get lifted until a possible vaccine is available, I think many things will be changing , From Possible Suitcase delivery, arriving in the terminal building, to getting on board and once on board to what they used to be , before Cruise ships start sailing again .
What those measures will be are known only to the bosses and staff who will get trained for the eventual start of cruising. What "used to be" will be in memory and a new style will know doubt be put in place with major changes and tweaks .
Will Queens Grill on Cunard or MSC Yacht Club ever be the same again ?
It will be very interesting to hear the changes from those travellers venturing into the unknown world of Cruising with COVID-19 around us. When the ships start taking passengers again.

Will be interesting to see the Embarkation changes to be made due to the COVID-19 situation . Obviously the only people to know what the procedure will be when cruising starts are the staff on board each ship and I am sure even that will get tweaked as time and situations present themselves.

It all depends what one wants from the Hotel in Southampton and if you wish to Travel on to your Cruise ship. Do you want inclusive car parking whilst away , a Boutique Hotel or a Cheap Basic. Southampton has them all, from Leonardo Royal Hotel Grand Harbour, not the same company as The Harbour Hotel Ocean Village , The Holiday Inn, The Pig in The Wall, Ennio's and The White Star Tavern. ? All different

Actually received, possibly for some time to come, my last Carnival share dividend last week .

Unlimited Comprehensive Cover with no excess for each guest for deliberate travel to a Country with a potential infectious disease. Think the premiums would be unacceptable to the Cruise Line bean counters,

When I book with them I usually decline their insurance and they give a reduced price.
I've just extracted my last invoice for a suite on Saga's Spirit of Discovery last December for 16 nights and my wife and I were credited £98.00 each for declining their insurance.
Saga from 6pm 13th March have now excluded COVID-19 caused by or relating to. ! some other company policies like AXA will still cover if you get ill through COVID- 19 though as long as you are not travelling against Foreign Office Advice here in the UK.
Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Please not, from 6pm on 13th March 2020, any new Saga Travel Insurance policies will not provide cover for any claim caused by or relating to Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).

If I was in charge of Marketing for Carnival the first thing I would do to get business is to offer free comprehensive cruise insurance on all my ships for 2021 cruises...….they may need to add to the basic cruise price but they should have the fire power to get a good deal off the insurance companies so that prices do not increase too much.
May be a good idea for some, but not those with Annual Travel Insurance policies who have already paid the premium. Some annual policies once you are in will not allow an opt out, for you to rejoin the scheme one was in, again !

Dead Easy to answer...
When cruise lines once more start their operations.
It ain't rocket science.
It may not be as easy that, if you go against your government's travel advice, then one will not be insured. Which really would be stupid thing to do !

That table suggests to me that Cunard are not taking bookings to the end of July rather than them having cancelled bookings until that date??
Just a play on words, 🙄

They take your deposit, then you have to pay the final payment, they cancel the trip 24hrs before and issue you with a FCC. Just playing poker with your finances to get cash.
Although Presently Cunard have deleted all possible cruises up to Aug 2020

Yes but before COVID-19 when you passed someone smoking or expelling loads of vapour you just held your breath and walked passed. What I am asking does COVID-19 now make a Big difference to smoking in open spaces. Should it now be banned because of this extra hazzard?.
-
Perhaps smoking will be banned completely together with the electronic devices that send clouds of vapour into the air.
Would anyone really wish to see and breath in the smoke after it has been in someones mouth whilst COVID-19 is in existence.

Seems unusual that cruise lines are still advertising so many cruises for sale that are departing in the not too distant future. Whilst we all have our opinion and judgements about this, one can assume that you could in reality book them and pay your deposit. What happens after who knows?
