  1. Celebrity's websites states "

**Vaccinated guests only are approved to debark and tour the restricted port shopping area, as well as take a local government approved tour of the island." the question is how do we know what's a local government approved tour?

  2. We will be cruising on Silhouette in January and currently the Health and Safety guidelines for many of the Southern Caribbean orts state that we can take independent excursions that are "Government Approved" . Does anyone have any clue how we can find out which providers are government approved?

    Thanks in advance

I noticed the cruise I have booked the price has dropped over $400 for the same cabin category.  I have already paid in full however the actual final payment date is Nov 22.  What would my options be maybe just some OBC?  It has been quite a few years since we cruised with Celebrity...

My cabin went down and though I was paid in full since final payment wasn't due yet I was able to get a refund for the difference

  4. Final payment for my cruise is tomorrow though I'm already paid in full. I booked through warehouse club TA.  I have already received 2 price adjustments. First one I was on hold for my TA about 30 minutes and then Celebrity had them on hold for another 30 but it was finally done. Took me about a week to receive the refund and Celebrity shorted me about $70 (invoice from TA has correct amount that should have been refunded). When I called for the 2nd adjustment I had to wait 50 minutes to get a live person but she was able to do the adjustment online with Celebrity and she advised them they shorted me the first time. Hopefully when the 2nd refund comes the total refunded will be correct. No need to cancel and re-book (don't want to risk being unable to get same cabin).

As an aside, I emailed =X= that I was disappointed not to get an emailed Move Up invite.  To my surprise I learned in their reply that my warehouse club TA (based in Washington state) does not participate in the Move Up program.  I had no idea a TA could keep a client from the opportunity to upgrade.   I don't see the upside for them to do so.  Could anyone enlighten?

I believe that the warehouse club's policy is stated in the fine print on their travel/cruise website. My guess is (but I could be wrong) that if you "moved up" you'd be doing that directly with Celebrity and the TA would not be receiving any additional commission.

  6. Let us not forget that we are already tipping for our meals with gratuities included (or even if you have cruise only and then tip). So if you are eating in a specialty restaurant, you are not eating in the MD for that meal for which tips have already been paid. I add additional gratuities if the service was truly outstanding as not only have my gratuities already been paid but my meal has been paid twice (once in my basic cruise fare and once in the upcharge for the specialty restaurant).

Not sure I track this. If you have a question about your cruise booked through a TA why are you calling Celebrity?

    call/email/text your TA.

Celebrity has a department with those booked through a TA, perhaps you want to purchase dinner or shore excursions over the phone or have a questions specifically about Celebrity. They will no more than a TA and I was calling about the Amex offer (charge $500 get back $159 credit) as I was getting different answers from Amex and Celebrity as well as my TA. Finally had Amex chat escalate it so that I got my answer IN WRITING!!

I believe you are looking at a menu option that is paired with some special wines.

This is totally optional and I have never purchased one nor would I ever consider it.

I realize 5 senses is paired with wine but why is the Muano dinner menu called Ala carte if it's prix fixe at a set dollar amount?

The second part of your question is that sometimes (like for the dry aged NY strip steak) there is an extra charge.  I have noticed it in the Fine Cut and Tuscan.

The Raw in 5 specialty dining is a la carte pricing.

Are these the ones you are referencing?

Yes, but also Murano lists an a la Carter menu in addition to 5 senses, isn't the Ala carte prix fixe and if so why call it Ala carte?

  10. I see that for some of the specialty restaurants a la carte prices are listed. I'm a bit confused as there's also a flat cover charge. Additionally alcoholic drinks listed on the menus shown for each restaurant are all more costly than those included with the classic beverage package.  Are other drinks also available and they're just promoting those on the menu?

Thanks in advance for clarifications. Haven't cruised Celebrity in many years but am booked on silhouette in January

If you sail before the March deadline just take your casino money (or any other charges) from you seapass account and make sure you use the right Amex card to cover your onboard account.   At the end of the cruise the charge will be from "Celebrity" and you will get the credit.

On board purchases do not qualify but if the amount you spend on your reservations or pre-sail purchases prior to the March cut-off date are 500 or more they'll qualify

  12. I spent a long time speaking with both Celebrity and American Express, it does not have to be used for a cruise reservation. It can be used to purchase dining, excursions etc. The $500 does not have to be spent all at once as long as long as it is spent prior to the end of the promotion and either online or through Celebrity on the phon..  I have it in writing as I had Amex upgrade the chat to a higher level and they replied in writing!

  13. they never sent me the offer but when I went on their website it is include in offers. I have spent over an hour talking to both Celebrity and Amex and getting varying answers on whether I can use the offer to purchase excursions, dining and/or onboard credit and whether the $500 needs to be spent in one shot or can it be spent cumulatively. The Amex person at Celebrity said I can spend it for dining and excursions and doesn't need to be in one shot, Amex customer service said all in one shot.  Amex has escalated my question and I should check back since I can't seem to get a straight answer.  As the offer is good until March and I'm sailing in January I have time to use it if I can.  Just frustrating.  I'll keep y'all posted

Got it, thanks. Ironically I looked to see if there was this type of offer prior paying for our cruise and there wasn't one.  I've signed up for it.  Now I'll have to see what qualifies besides cruise fare

Fine print, it started today and is only applicable toward cruise reservations/fare and since I am fully paid for via using a TA and am getting a $215 gift card and earning 5% back on my cruise, I think I'll just leave things as is.

The link posted won't work. You need to log into your card account on the American Express website, see if the offer is available to you, then add it to your card before making the $500 purchase.

I just booked the western Med for June 2021 on Harmony sailing out of Barcelona.  We are also planning to spend some time on the backside in Barcelona.  Any tips for hotels or locations in Barcelona?  Did you use taxis or uber to get around?  Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

We flew into Barcelona  a couple of days early.  Upon landing we took a 1/2 day tour with another couple and the guide/driver then brought us to our hotel. We stayed at the Petit Palace Boqueria, which is right off Las Ramblas and not far from the port.

From there we walked or took tours (the Montserrat and Freschet winery tour was great, not that any were bad). The hotel is also near one of the few decent Flamenco/dinner shows in Barcelona.  Post cruise we stayed overnight at a hotel at the airport as we were fearful that we could miss our outgoing flight but it really wasn't necessary as the ship wound up docking at 5:30 am.  But we came back into the city and spent the day at the Picasso Museum which is terrific (the one in Paris isn't worth the effort) I believe we took a bus (but it could have been a shuttle from the hotel, I can't remember).
