  1. Forgot to print off tags. Will they have ones we can write on at the port?
  2. We’re leaving on oasis from Miami on Sunday and I can’t remember what time we’ve shown up in the past to get on the ship early. Our official check-in isn’t until 130 but I think in previous years we’ve been ignored that and shown up around 10:30 AM does that sound about right?
  3. yes I remember seeing it in the app before but I don't see it there either. but the link I posted above seems to be a good source.
  4. in case others come here curious as well I found the menus here: https://freestyletravelers.com/blog/royal-2024-mdr-menus
  5. I know I've seen menus in the past, is there a reliable site to look at current MDR menus? I'm looking for Oasis Feb 25 sailing. Thanks!
  6. actually you're right. if I ignore the points and just give myself 7 for each cruise I should be at 42 and my total is 50, lol
  7. oh yes I see. they show as 1 point in the list but then the total reflects higher. thx
  8. I'm no where near a frequent cruiser but about to go on #7 with RCI. was looking at my list and noticed my first two cruises only gave me 1 point each and then after that its # of points matching # of days. They're 2006 and 2010 and both 7 day. Why do they only earn 1 point? Doesn't really matter but it would change my level for my upcoming cruise and obviously get me to higher levels faster
  9. Ah I didn't think about liability issues. thanks!
  10. Sailing with my 12 year old and he'd love to have access to gaming consoles/foosball tables etc but is very shy and wouldn't want to go in alone. Can parents go in with kids or is it strictly adults not allowed? if its no adults allowed I'm guessing there's no other spot with access to gaming and we'd need to do the arcade? Thanks
  11. Doing three in a room for the first time. Is the third bed the couch setup as a bed? Is it regular twin sized? Also I read on here something about room attendants only coming once a day but if you're using the third bed do they still come morning and night to put it away/make it up? Thanks!
  12. We're considering not getting an internet package for our cruise but would be nice to just check email a few times or look something up. Is there still an Internet cafe or is there anywhere on the ship with free wifi?
  13. I'm seeing different information in different places. Can my 12 year old go into the teen zone? the kids area seems to be for 11 and under but 12 isn't teen so what are the rules on that?
  14. I see it’s 20% off if I prepay but recall there also being ‘deals’ on the ship last time I was on. should I buy now?
  15. We looked at this but the price markup was significant and I'd read in many places that it should be safe on regular weeks so we didn't do it. Sounds nice to have it all extra safe though.
  16. Hoping for tips and tricks on how to stay Celiac safe on Oasis of the seas next month. I've cruised with Royal before but this will be my first as a celiac and nervous about it all. Any general tips you have would be greatly appreciated. Also ... 1. Should I have my file flagged ahead of time? would that do anything? I know to go talk to someone in the main dining room right away and get a recurring dinner reservation at the same table each night so I can have the same waiter and ask to pick the next nights dinner at the end of each night. 2. Windjammer - what can I do here to ensure no cross contamination? This will be a popular option for my son and husband so would be good to know how to eat safely here. 3. what about places like the central park cafe. can I eat here? if so what is safe and/or what should my protocol be for talking with staff to find safe food. 4. Promenade eateries? I heard that gf cookies are available and even gf pizza at the pizza place. Is that safe cross contamination wise? 5. we have an outside balcony for the first time and might do breakfast there once or twice. Any special protocols I should follow? 6. We picked an itinerary that stops at both labadee and coco cay so I can have access to RCI food. Can anyone give me an idea of what that will look like or how I can operate on shore? 7. Lastly, we don't fly out until 9pm on the day we get off the ship. Anything I can try to bring off ship with me to survive the day? will probably spend time at the science museum and then dinner at FLL if anyone can speak to safe options there. Thanks so much!!!
  17. I’m not sure if things have changed since we last sailed (2018), I thought I remembered being able to put down a deposit that was fully refundable if you cancelled far enough in advance. Am I remembering incorrectly or has there been a change? We’re looking to cruise in feb on oasis and when I go to book a cabin there isn’t anything saying the deposit would be refundable in any way. thanks!
  18. Our itinerary is below. we'd prefer afternoon shade if possible but it looks like we'd get a mix? The smoke is a bigger concern I think. if we pick a lower deck (8?) do you think it would be noticeable? Any downsides to being on 8 with Central Park?
  19. so for a western Caribbean wouldn't it tend to be half and half? sun wise? And good to know smoke wise!
  20. Hoping to sail on Oasis next Feb and recently diagnosed with Celiac. I know the main dining room will be able to accommodate but what about other places on the ship? Is it safe to eat at the buffet? other snack places? what about the food on labadee and coco cay? Also, does anyone know what the difference could be in booking through RCI vs 'celiaccruise.com'? I see one of the dates is the date of their celiac cruise and I'm wondering what would actually be different. Thanks!
  21. Looking at doing an ocean balcony for the first time and wondering if its generally better to do one side over the other (port vs. starboard) or if its port dependent or what. Thanks 🙂 Edit: we're looking at oasis with western itinerary in Feb
  22. Looking to do a cruise this winter on an oasis class ship. We've done Oasis and Harmony in the past. Me, my husband and our 11 year old son. Through other variables we've come down to two options - 1. Oasis western 7 day. Pros - itinerary is great. we're not that into excursions and ports but one of their itineraries offers both cococay and labadee which is great as we'd love to have some beach days and I have some food allergies so RC ports are less stressful. also the itinerary only has 2 cruising days so there would be opportunity to have quiet ship on the Bahamas and Jamaica stops. Cons - ship is older (2009). 2 - Wonder eastern or westerly 7 day. Pros - ship is newer and seems they've upgraded onboard water based activities (slides and # of pools). Cons - they don't have an itinerary with labadee, the cost is higher and the ship leaves from Port Canaveral which isn't as convenient in terms of proximity to airport. So would love others opinions on the ships themselves (is wonder notably better, is oasis getting old or have they kept it up well, is wonder less preferable for any reasons, etc.) Thanks!!
