  1. Combination shampoo and conditioner. Works for me' date=' DW will bring her own.

Will give you soap and the cabin will have hair dryer[/quote']

Most guys will agree with this, good enough for men and maybe a few women. However, my DW used once on our first cruise she was like:mad: *never again* like the Grinch sings "mangled up, in tangled up knots". This has been brought up several times on our cruises when my DW and other DWs talk. I cannot remember one lady that said she uses the shampoo and conditioner combo, they all said they bring their own. FYI, my DW is not the miss prissy/high and all mighty type either.

  2. Hi everyone!

We are sailing on Carnival Sunshine next month and are so excited! We are doing the 8 day eastern Caribbean route and have never cruised with Carnival before. I have a few questions regarding formal nights and things to do in port.

    1. Are formal nights on the first and last sea day? I know on one of the formal nights the main dining room serves steak and lobster....what is the specialty on the last formal night?

    2. Where is the best place to find good authentic Puerto Rican food in Old San Juan? I looked at a few restaurants online and they seem very Americanized. I’m looking for authentic roast pig, Spanish rice and plantains with garlic 🤤[emoji39]

    1. Are formal nights on the first and last sea day? I know on one of the formal nights the main dining room serves steak and lobster....what is the specialty on the last formal night? First off, formal nights are subject to change from the CD. However, they are pretty uniformed looking at your cruise this is what I project. Your formal nights will be day #2 sea day and day #6 San Juan. Remember formal night will never be your last day of the cruise because of having suite cases out in the hallway that night. You would not be able to pack formals do you want to wear formals home, so it should never be the last night. As for food for formal nights the first one should be the steak and lobster night (if you did not know ask for seconds if you want it's free), the second night I believe is prime rib, and its prime rib not roast beef.

  3. Yeah, we have had fresh OJ on both Royal Caribbean and Princess. It would be nice to get it on Carnival as well.

Also, fresh squeezed OJ is NOT included in Cheers. It's specific that it's excluded. For us, Cheers didn't make sense anyway as we drink so little coffee and alcohol, and with the exclusion of fresh OJ, it's even less so.

First off, if fresh squeezed OJ in not included in cheers then I am sorry for saying it is. I just ASS/U/ME/D it was included due to the fact that it is included on other cruise lines with their beverage packages. You also said "It's specific that it's excluded" I saw no mention of this on the Carnival site look below. Although it not much, but fresh OJ is just another way for us to get our monies worth out of Cheers, my DW will be disappointed.

  4. honesty how is He coffee on carnival? I’m not a Starbucks fan at all. I buy fresh roasted coffee from a local toaster. It goes from being roasted to my coffee pot within a day sometimes. I grind my own before each use. How bad is coffee on board and also would small coffee pot be banned from my cabin ? I will have cheers so the coffee shop will be a frequent stop I guess if I don’t bring my own. I only drink coffee morning to early afternoon lol I’m not addicted or anything well ok maybe

First off, let me say I am a beer snob not a coffee snob. However, the coffee on the lido and MDR.....:confused:well they sux. For me its the specialty coffee shop on board, even if I did not get Cheers.

  5. I do, DW doesn't especially with the social plan. Regarding the HUB app, it is a nice tool but we found out on the Glory that the FunTimes posted in the app isn't necessarily the one they publish onboard, our meet and greet wasn't in the app but it was in the paper copy.

Great info there, looks like we will have to look at the funtimes daily, and make sure it matches the Hub app.

  6. I have a little different thought on it. If the child that caused the accident was doing something they shouldn't have been and caused the accident, then I think there is partial blame and there should be some restitution.

for instance, if the child that was running was doing so in an area that you should not be running or if the child had been told to stop running then this accident was preventable. If running in a park or schoolyard I agree it was a true accident that was probably not preventable but running on a ship is not something you should be doing so I think there is some blame and perhaps some monetary responsibility.

Maybe I have been watching too much Judge Judy...

Judge Judy: Listen here Missy! you should of be....

Parent of running child: Mame, you cannot expect a parent to be watching their kids 24-7 you are bound to miss something that your child is doing wrong.

Judge Judy: First off, do not interrupt me again and listen to me very carefully. When you decided to have children that is when you took on the responsibilities of such children until they are of age. For you to tell me you cannot see everything your children is doing 24-7 as a defense. Well let me tell you how much responsibilities you do have *Drops The Hammer*

    LoL:')

  7. Hi All,

Looking for a poster ( sometimes seen on facebook) that will show the Carnival Splendor 14 day cruise route from Long Beach with the ports highlighted. Have seen these posters on past cruises on cabin doors. This cruise occurs at the end of Aug of this year. Any leads would be appreciated

First off welcome and hello, My DW and I are one the same cruise. Not sure if you are aware, but we have a roll call for this cruise (a place were people going on the same cruise can chat). If your interested you will find a "find your roll call" link at the top of the page. You should have no problem finding this cruise and you may have a better chance in getting this poster you are talking about. I am sorry I do not know of this poster your talking about, but I maybe interested also.

  8. In the name of corporate greed none of us should use the PYOB stations. This not just because of the added "gratuities" (which is a huge rip off), but it also is killing jobs. This is kind of like the new self served check out lines in your grocery stores. The only different is your local stores are American jobs, but they are still jobs. Next thing you know there will be no bartenders on any cruise line, and I do not believe a robot wants to, or will listen to my sad drunken stories.

  9. This is your cruise so enjoy it the way you see fit.

I just re-read my post and have to quote it. Above I said it your cruise enjoy it the way you see fit, however it is everybody's cruise that is on the ship. So if you enjoying your cruise does not make another pax dis-like theirs then go for it. I only say this because other pax out there fill like it my cruise the hell with the other pax.

  10. This is my experience, I normally wear a suite w/tie. However, my last cruise was Princess Ruby in which I rented a tux. I did not feel out of place because there were a good handful of guys that were wearing tux for Formal/Elegant night. Our next cruise is on Carnival Splendor, and known that Carnival's pax are not as formal I will be sporting; nice slacks, button down shirt with jacket, but no tie. In the end, its up to you and what you want to do no one will say anything, well except your table mates. My table mates on last cruise (Ruby Princess) made me feel really good they all told me I was the best looking guy at the table:cool:. That is when I realized I was the only guy at the table:o.....LoL If you feel like getting real fancy then go for it, however if you are not the fancy type then just dress good enough to get in the MDR on formal/elegant night. This is your cruise so enjoy it the way you see fit.

  11. I have a cruise coming up soon (under 40 days until we leave!!!) and I'm starting to make a list of clothes to pack. I think I'm an over packer. I plan day vs night clothes. I have a shirt for every day and then my night time stuff. Given that there are excursions and pool time, is that too much? How much do you pack for a 7 day cruise?

Here is what we generally do, we pack for our trip no matter how many days what we think we need. Then when we get all done, and just before zipping the suitcases up we take out "HALF";). In fact, we sometimes even still have to much...LoL

  12. When we did the Riviera a couple years ago I noticed the ship time would change back or forward daily. It was very confusing, I was always worried if I had the right time before going to port.

This should not have been an issue. When you make it to the gang plank they have a clock (at least any ship I have been on, never been on the Splendor) so when you see the clock you set your watch/phone to that time (ship time) and you will never be late.

  13. May I add one more question? On which nights do the family friendly comedy shows occur?
    .

Again, do not quote me. Our experience has been when they do comedy night they do both the family and adult one. The nights I would have to say vary form cruise to cruise, and ship to ship. However, the early comedy show would be the family friendly one, of course.

  14. We leave tomorrow, and I don't have time to run around after work today to go Poncho shopping. I would assume they sell them on board, but thought I would check. All of our destinations are calling for a chance of rain next week. Goody.

If you have money they will sell it! If for some reason they do not have one to sell they will make you one out of big giant plastic garbage bags........Oh yeah then sell it to you.
