  1. Yes' date=' there are 2 dining times. Yes, you still rotate thru the dining rooms, but it is not necessarily ABCABCABCABC...it can be creative like ABCAABC. But is all works out. The pool deck restaurant is a sit down restaurant at dinner, not a buffet. It is always "cruise casual" with no reservations needed--sort of like free style. You show up, look at the menu, and are seated. On signature menu nights, they will have 2 choices from each of the 3 signature menus. On themed nights, they will have 4-5 of the choices plus a "carved item" and a salad bar. It is very nice.

The dining times were a little different than on the 7 night cruises. They were 6 and 8:30 rather than 5:45 and 8:15. There were almost no kids at the late seating.

It is easy to get multiple Palo reservations if desired![/quote']

We'll be at late searing with our kids. :D. Because of the time change (Barcelona is 6hours ahead) we did late seating on our last WBTA and are doing it again this time around.

WBTA is my favorite cruise of all time and if you have a chance you should go! One of the perks is that you gain an hour on 6 nights of the cruise while crossing the Atlantic.

  2. WOW!

That is all I can say. I have never been on a cruise, but I booked a cruise on Carnival for February because it was something I could afford. However, tonight my daughter and I were watching tv and we just saw the special about the Disney Dream!

I am in utter shock! I know that when my daughter goes on the other cruise, it will not be anything like what we just witnessed on tv for the DCL! I just wish that I could afford to take my family on a Disney Cruise.

We have been to Disney once a year for the past two years in a row. We just couldn't do it this year.

My question to all of you Disney cruisers would be, aside from the regular charges between the fare and the taxes, what all is included? Food, entertainment, soft drinks, kids clubs

Is there need for a lot of extra money on board? Along with tips -- If you want to buy souvenirs, alcohol or specialty coffee dinks, smoothies or sodas at a bar, and go on excursions, you will need to pay for those.

Does DCL do tips as a daily rate, or is the regular tipping expected at each meal? You tip, if i recall correctly, $12 per person per day. You also have 15% gratuity added to anything you eat or drink that you have to pay for and order from a server--alcohol, specialty drinks, snacks at the movies.

I'm trying to see if there is ANY way I could try to plan that for our vacation next year.

Thank you so much, in advance!! :)

keep in mind, You can bring your own alcohol on board as long as you carry it on. Then you can mix it with stuff you get free from room service like milk or go to the drink station to get sodas. Bottom line if you are really on a budget the only thing you really need to spend your money on is tips ad you can still have a great cruise. s

  3. To all, thanks for your replies!

I have one more question and I hope, being an after-thought, that someone returns and sees it.

Some one wrote you can bring your own liquor? Yes? Is there a charge to do this. And how about wine?...is there the corkage fee that any line I've been on charges? They don't drink the hard stuff but they are frequent wine store customers so I'm sure they'd love to bring a couple of bottles of their favorites.

    Once more..thank you!

I like to bring a bottle of liquor that I can mix with something that's free on the ship. For example there's a soda station and sodas are free so if you like rum and Coke you could bring rum. I like to bring Kahlúa and order milk from room service and make kahlua an milk.

  4. My last cruise was the Veendam, before that the Fantasy. I really liked how small the Veendam is and loved the library and computer classes on the Veendam. But Fantasy is SOOOObeautiful and high tech. There were times it felt crowded - primarily at the kids pools. If I had been traveling without my kids I would have spent all my time at the adult pool and satellite falls. They looked so relaxing! O think you would like the Fantasy and it might be a nice change, but you might want to go or the Magic - closer to the size you are used to.

BTW, I found the service in HAL to be, overall, noy NEARLY as good as DCL.

I APOLOGIZE FOR ANY TYPOS. TYPED ON MY I-pad, at a hotel bar and without my glasses supo I can't read/check my spelling.

  5. Thank you!

    Hello GatorMomInNC,

The cable car cabins seat 8 passengers, in case one is too big, they'll probably only carry 7, unless the 8th person is very thin or a child. I looked on the website for any weight limits, but they don't say anything.

As far as the toboggans are concerned, in case you're too big, you may have to take the ride alone, but this will mean you'll pay 20 EUR, instead of 12.50 EUR sharing. However they also have 3 passenger baskets, which they can use for 2 people only, when necessary, avoiding you to pay single ticket.

Oh... the toboggan drivers are very strong, so no problem there! :)

  6. In response to the previous post, I would ordinarily recommend getting the two OV rooms, but in this case, I recommend getting that floor-to-ceiling window room. The reason is because the Liberty is the last ship to still have those. The other 4 ships have converted those to balcony rooms, so those rooms on the Liberty are very unique and will probably also be converted sooner or later. They are approximately 230 sq.ft, and they are in a great location. Since you're so close to the spa, you can use those showers so that you don't have to be taking turns in your room.

On the other 4 Conquest class ships, these (balcony) rooms are category 8F. They are approximately 195 sq.ft. plus a 35 sq.ft. balcony. So the rooms are slightly bigger than other balcony rooms.

We stayed in one of these balcony rooms on the Conquest (for the price of a floor-to-ceiling window room ;)), and we loved it. Smoking is allowed in these rooms, but they do a great job cleaning the rooms. There's not much foot traffic. Spa showers are right there, which you can use. There is slightly more motion up there, not significantly more. If you need an elevator during the busy times, bring a sack lunch and a long book to read. It is a short walk outside to grab some chairs and catch some sun or go on the waterslide right above you.

Thanks for the input. I just found another posting from someone who stayed in one of these cabins on the Liberty and they had positive things to say also. One thing that was different was that they said the elevators were great, because all the glass ones from the lobby come up there too -- not sure if this is a different layout from the Conquest or if they just had a different experience. It is important for me to be able to get an elevator, because my mom will be traveling with me and she is 77 with a heart condition.

  7. Hello -

I just registered and this is my first time using this site, so bear with me if I make a faux pas.

I am holding and considering booking 1115 on the Liberty for a January cruise. It is almost as much as booking 2 OV rooms so I'm trying to decide which to do. It would be nice to have 2 adjoining rooms (Traveling with 2 small kids and my mom), but I just loved those floor to ceiling windows, and I thought the location on the ship looked good.

I noticed that someone just stayed in one of these rooms and I was wondering if you think it was worth it over perhaps 2 OV rooms (this is what my mom prefers).

    Thanks
