It seems that several Tribe members have come down with the dreaded "cruise crud"... Jamman had it around mid cruise, as well as Melania (Roscoes wife)... Now it appears that Patti and Mr Megan have also got it, as well as Senators Fan. Fortunately it looks like I dodged a bullet this time, probably due to my excessive hand washing and extra careful vigilance when it comes to touching public spaces... Or, maybe I was just lucky, who knows... Hopefully all those affected will be on the mend soon...

In other news, I put up my two new masks yesterday evening, and they're everything I'd hoped for. I forgot to even take a picture, as I was doing a bunch of other stuff around the apartment at the same time. Here's a picture of another one of my favorites that I acquired recently...

When I was in Venice in May, I had a 25 inch bag & backpack.  We stayed near Piazzale Roma and only one bridge to deal with.  That experience is my motivation for COO next time 😄

You mentioned that your last train segment was a regional train. Did you have to make a change?

I'm just starting to research the train from Rome to Venice and thought the Frecciarrosa trains were direct to  S Lucia station?  I'm finding the Trenitalia website a little confusing.

Also we solved the bridge / luggage. Issue.   We book a hotel with a dock !  Private water taxi.   Live large!

Totally agree and it's good to spend at least three nights... save one day to just wander.  One of the joys of Venice is getting lost in the pre-medieval streets.  You can never stay lost for long and there's always a drink and/or bite to be found.

That’s is the magic of Venice !  We been eating at a certain restaurant for 10 years  now, found by getting lost !

Yikes!!  I have heard of some Greek restaurants that do a scam-like thing with the bill.  You order and after the fact they say "oh that's 20 euro per GRAM" and your bill is now 300 euro.  I will double check on payment and ordering.  Thank you kleibo!!

Notorious restaurant in Mykonos DK Oyster.  Beware

  8. For me , the  times that u really feel the crowded ship is early boarding , with tons of people, with rolling carryons , jaming up seats and food venues and early disembark which can be favorable to a hockey player with all checking and elbows .

I normally get on later and leave late .. no rush  just make the arrangements to work for that time frame.

No, they can't just sail in circles for no reason if they choose because it is written in the contract. There are certain laws that you cannot contract around.  Not everything written in a contract is enforceable.

SNS, but your google law degree does not equal my honors JD from a top law school or my 15 years of legal practice.

I am now reminded why I try to make a habit of never getting into any sort of legal discussion with anyone on the internet...because the dunning krueger effect is STRONG on the world wide web.

Dunny k effec. .. so funny!

We were fortunate that we hadn't left the USA to fly to England when we were notified of the issue.  I'm sorry for the folks already in Europe, as well as the people on the sip this week.

Horrible situation, for the folks that are in Europe, I hope they get a chance to spread their wings, stay. Flights and trains to other euro countries are cheap !  Go expand your horizons, Europe thru a carnival cruise lens is soooo limiting !   Go to Paris  and eat at a bistro at 930 at night , try sitting in piazza in Italy eating a gelato.. so many cheap alternatives to see Europe , your their … go for it ..

I don’t condone lying to your doctor. Once mine knew I was going on a cruise and the destination, it was an easy decision, lol. I’m doing it again in August when we go to Alaska in a cruise, although not exactly the same exposure rates on that cruise. I’ve taken meds with me for years of RV travel and overseas flights and cruises just in case, but never needed it before.

I glad your feeling better, may i ask which. Anti viral you got , i tried to get plaxovid here a d do s were not cooperative.

  12. The glory was the first ship I sailed on within the carnival cruise lines brand.

At that time she was very very new , out of port Canaveral. We had just started our family cruises  . It was a great time to cruise - value  , outstanding food and great services.

I think that why i have a fondness for that class of ship. She started a cruise frenzy for the next 12 years. It took us about 12 or so years before we got back to more land vacations . If she ever comes back to florida i will jump on her and her lido balcony cabins !

Aloha.  Born and raised in Manhattan when little Italy was really little Italy. I am used to various incarnations of Italian food so I am extremely open but pineapple pizza…Not for me LOL. In Hawaii believe it or not there is a restaurant called Taormina.  My grandparents were born and raised in Sicily and the owner of this Waikiki tourist/local restaurant is from Japan and raised and trained in Italy. His cooking is unbelievable. That said, if people want pineapple pizza so be it. Enjoy everyone!

greetings, I agree to each their own ! That why i plan on eating at this pay restaurant.. BTW toarmino.  In Waikiki.. i know that place .. right up from what i consider the best Mai tai and my fav hotel In Waikiki ! Food was very good
