  1. Glad to hear Jan/neighbor is doing well!

St Thomas is my favorite port. We were hoping to go to Sapphire Beach but now that its a ship tour, way too crowded. We cabbed it to downtown for some shopping and possibly to check out the new Magic Ice Bar. We went inside and planned to go back since they had gear to cover my feet and legs but we ended up at the old cruise port (Fat Turtle) and took a cab back to ship and forgot. It was hot after walking all that way to get to the other port.

I wanted a hook bracelet but the stores I went in were about $800 guess I didn't find your lucky store : ( we were in and out of watch stores too but hubby couldn't decide if he wanted to spend the money or not.... Always SXM!

Lol forgot about the Bushwhackers too but tried 2 "local " beers which were supposively made for STT and STJ but right on the bottle they are Shipyard and made in Maine :)! Oh well they had Caribbean names. Today we had a very late lunch of nachos and I think hubby grabbed pretzel dog. FFs and of course wouldn't be complete without ice cream cones.

Someday would love to do a B2B but also want to get over to Australia (if I can survive that flight)! Lol

Keep the review coming - reliving it. Friends are sailing this weekend

  2. I've done the Oasis once and this was my third time on the Allure. Still not sure I've seen and done everything. Always book every show possible but do not always make it. At least you are guaranteed a seat if you decide it works in your schedule. Still haven't tried all the restaurants. Think I still need a repeat :) lol
The adult comedy is the same during the week but last night you don't need reservations it's open to all and the "act" is cleaned up if you will. Surprisingly I did not know about the book. Think on the first cruise it was mentioned on the Rising Tide but don't know if I ever saw it. I was at Platinum and higher trivia one sea day and it was never mentioned.
Thanks for the tip as well about pix.
(Just made it upstairs yesterday first time so still loading and organizing) I took about 1/3 of what I normally take since I was limited last few days. Lucky I have some from prior cruises.
Love the review and comments :)
  3. I hope you made it to Señor Frogs despite the rain storms. We tried leaving there several times and held back - could barely see 3 feet it was so heavy. Eventually we did just take our chance and didn't melt but we were wet !

Great people watching from all the ships. Singing, dancing, conga lines.. Everyone drinking even employees. You won't see that in the States :) fun times. Wonder if everyone on all ships made it back? The markets here seemed to be a little pushy even after a no thank you and the public bathrooms - what's up with the black water, seriously? Was happy to make it "safely" back on ship - get into dry clothes (not from flow rider) and grab some pizza ! Awaiting Sailaway and pix taking!

  4. Well 8704 neighbor hope you are feeling better! I completely understand your embarrassment. First night I just went to Windjammer for dinner. Not impressed with it but that was the easiest for both of us. Hard to navigate wheelchairs into the dining room depending where your seat is. When I did go on Fri we went very early and moved chairs around and stayed til the end and did the same to get out. Worked ok for 2nd seating. Concierge Lounge was accommodating as well.

Bummer you lost one more day than I did. I love St Thomas. Hope you got to enjoy the day :)

I know they did the drills but there was an extra call in there just wasn't sure if anyone heard about it.

Thanks for sharing the FLL flow rider pix didn't know that one. Was as the "character" Sailaway party in aqua theater. That was fun. Cast did a great job. Then grabbed a few pic and back to cabin for pre dinner festivities.

We found not many people out late at the clubs or bars either and the majority of people on this cruise were 30s-50s. Not sure where everyone was either.

  5. Haha that was me cabin 8706! Must have seen my "wheels"! Great location although once I was given crutches it was too far to the elevators. Love being close to Central Park. The key is going on boarding day and there's not much of a line. Really there is 2 lines one for salads and one for sandwiches folks just don't follow along. We did grab chips for our carb snacks during the week. Hubby thought they need an ice cream machine there or by the hot dog stand or in doughnut area. Agreed!

Your review is detailed and great so I just may chime in here and there.

Did like the Conseirge lounge was moved into Blaze giving full bar access although I do love the people watching up in the private lounge deck 6.

Sorry about your friend in St Thomas. I did hear someone got hurt but didn't get the details. 2 others fell in SXM as well but weren't injured just me. I'm struggling but will get there. You never realize how many steps there are til you encounter them .. Ships bathroom , balcony, navigating into dining room etc!

Didn't do many shows this time but have seen them all over the prior 2 trips.

Entertainment was good this cruise. Matt Yee in Schooner was good and late night comedy was pretty good (one guy was on last year too). Karaoke ok limited times tho.

Any word on the water diving/acrobat employee that got injured at beginning of week or why the distress call to bridge? Ship didn't stop for anyone overboard?

  6. I was on your sailing. This was my third time on the ship. Had a great time! Live your review so far. Not impressed with the new menu change. I was kind of made famous on the cruise as the "lady who fell and broke her ankle in St Maarten"! Maybe you know me? Lol. Ill get my review out as well. Staff was great only encountered a few that were just ok and a few rude pax but you get that anywhere. If any questions just ask ill try to answer as well :)
