Thanks for the information. It was helpful.

Another reason to never sail Carnival. I think their low cost cruise ship experience is not for us. You get what you pay for.

Thanks for sharing. I would love it if all the Pinnacle Grill's added a page of favorites from Tamarind. We really enjoyed our times there.

Wash your hands, don't touch your face. The hand sanitizer goo is not a good way to stay from illness.

Very interesting review, thank you for taking the time to do this review.

Thanks for giving Ruru a "Merry Christmas" for us. She just messaged me. A little confused but happy. Thanks again.

If you get to the Pinnacle, please tell one of the servers Ruru that her mom and dad (Randy & Lisa) wish her a Merry Christmas. Thanks

If everyone gets a discount is it really a discount?

We think having breakfast in the Pinnacle is the best part of a Neptune Suite.

Another thing you did right: Research your trip before your trip.
Great review, thanks.

I am just off the Westerdam and had the mid range WiFi package. I used Facebook Messenger many times to call my wife back home and it worked fine. There were a few dropped calls but for the most part I was able to connect without any problems and without any other charges.
-
Just off the Westerdam and 2 men were turned away on the first night with shorts. It seemed that just about every night on our 16 day cruise some guy tried to get in with shorts on for dinner.

Just off the Westerdam and had a choice of 3 internet packages. Sorry I didn't take a picture of them. I got the mid level package and was able to access email, facebook, and was able to talk over facebook messanger phone. It cost $169 for the 16 day cruise.

We sailed on the Nieuw Amsterdam in its first year and loved the ship and it's food choices. When we went back a year later, all different kitchen staff and the food quality was not the same. It just depends on who is running the kitchen and what their tastes were.

Sorry, I was on the Westerdam during our Panama Canal cruise.

Just got back from a 16 night Panama Canal cruise from Ft. Lauderdale through the Panama Canal and docking in San Diego. First: the cruise was good, the ship was in good shape and as always the crew was top notch.
I had pre-booked both nights at the pop-up Sel de Mer based on how much I loved Le Cirque and had hoped it would be just as good. I couldn't have been more wrong. This is held in the Pinnacle Grill but they redecorate it with giant pictures of Rudi doing all sorts of things with sea food. Just a little narcissistic to say the least.
The first night was on night 8 after we had spent the day in Costa Rica. The top item on the menu was "Fresh catch of the Day". As it was explained to me, the chef would go ashore that day and find some fresh fish that had been caught that morning. The truth was that they defrosted Red Snapper that had been loaded in Ft. Lauderdale. I was told by the chef and a manager that they were all embarrassed about what was advertised and what actually is served.
We eventually ordered the Foie Gras which was actually Pate. Steak Tartar and Escargots were also ordered. Both were actually above average. For a main course I ordered the double lamb chops that were not that flavorful and my friend ordered the lobster. The advertised Maine Lobster turned out to be 2 small tails that are served during regular Pinnacle menu items for a Steak and Lobster combination. They are small tails, not a big Maine Lobster.
For dessert I ordered the Profiteroles. They are supposed to be served with warm chocolate sauce. The reality is that room temperature Hershey's syrup is poured over them. Others at the table ordered Creps Suzette and Apple Tarte Tatin, both fairly flavorless.
Needless to say, we did not go the second night it was offered.
My opinion is that there should be a Tamarind pop-up or replace Canaletto with Tamarind fleet wide. That restaurant is so much better.

My hands are sweaty just thinking about all the problems that could arise. I agree with the other posters that you should contact Costco and get that flight moved. Too many "IF's".

Lunch in the Pinnacle is the least attended and yet the best kept secret of the cruise. Always a treat.
-
On our last cruise I heard one of the best Tina Turner sets I have ever heard in my life. That singer could really belt it out.

It isn't really a sports bar, it is a bar that happens to have a couple of TV's that might or might not have some sports being broadcast.
It should really be renamed the "Casino Bar that might or might not have some sports being broadcast".

Thank you for the pictures, I just booked it twice for an upcoming 16 day Panama Canal cruise in November.

The best part of a Neptune Suite is breakfast in the Pinnacle. Wonderful service, quiet environment. I am surprised about the NL though, I have always had 5 star service from the ladies there. Sorry to hear about your experience.

[emoji848]Funny how no one complained about CNN until the orange menace took over.

Nice racist post. So it is ok to make fun of someone based on skin color now?
