  1. Quick question for jondfk who is currently on the Grand.  We read on another post that some Princess ships have tuxedos available to rent at the passenger service desk.  We will be on the Grand next month and are wondering if you could stop by and check to see if they are indeed renting formal wear on the Grand and let us know.  Thank you in advance. Hope you are having a wonderful cruise.

  2. Will be taking the Island Princess on the 9 April Ocean-to-Ocean Panama Canal Cruise. Would appreciate any comments regarding the last refurb. Read some comments that there were still a lot of unfinished areas passengers saw during a cruise last January. Great photos. Thank you
We have seen no unfinished areas, the ship looks great!

  3. I love your posts. We are going on our first cruse on Island Princess to the Panama Canal for 10 Days on Oct. 21st. Was wondering if you purchased a data package from Princess since not sure about what to do...I am thinking of going off line for the duration. I would like to post some pictures.
We received 250 minutes with our captains circle benefits, and I purchased additional minutes . This far far the internet on board has worked the best in all of our 10 Princess cruises

  4. We are planning this same cruise for October of this year. Your posts have been so helpful. We are looking at booking a minisuite mid aft on Deck 9 ( (Dolphin deck). It's about 24 cabins forward from the rear of the ship. From the deck plans it looks like it would be a covered balcony. Would you recommend this area of the Island Princess? Thanks in advance for any tips!

I can't say for sure if this is a fully covered balcony, I can take a picture of the aft section of the ship if that would help , but yes we love the back of the ship .

  5. I saw in your Patter that AJ Jamal did a comedy show for you. Did you attend? I saw him last year on another Princess ship and he was HYSTERICAL. Made my DH and I laugh to tears. I never saw Brand James Duo. If you saw him, was he good? What type of show did he do? Still loving your blog and thank you for taking the time. It’s making me anxious for my up coming cruise.
We did not see him , but will if he has another show.

  6. We will be attending the Chefs Table on the 16th so yesterday all attending had to meet with the Maitre d'Hotel . Micheal Boonzaaier about what not to do while in the Galley, shortly after that we arrived in Huatulaco and took the Rural communities princess excursion, which included stops at the home of a family that makes palm products, followed by stops at local families homes that make tortillas and rugs. Our last stop on this tour was at a medicinal herb garden.

  7. Great pictures. Thank you. We are thinking of doing the 9 Apr 2019 Panama Canal Ocean to Ocean starting in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and debarking in LA. What kind of state room do you have? We are planning on the a Club Class Mini Suite. We are used to sailing on MSC in Yacht Club with all inclusive drinks. We are not 'big' drinkers, but do drink a lot of water, coffee, soda, etc. I notice they have a 'soda' package which includes coffee. Would like to hear more about your experience with your stateroom and restaurant experiences. Thanks again for sharing.
We are in one of the minis towards the aft dolphin deck starboard side of the ship (non club class) , the room it self is a little tired and the bathroom needs regrouting, but we love the location and covered balcony. We have any time dining and are late eaters 730PM we have never had to wait and usually get the table and waiter we like.

  8. Any reports on the cabins? Do you happen to be in one of the newer ones?

We are in one of the older cabins , a minisuite starboard side aft, the cabin itself is a little tired but it does have the new mattress and 2 new flat sceen TV's which are mounted to the wall. As far as our cabin we picked it for the location, very little foot traffic passing by and it has a fully covered balcony.
